Right on Nui Sam with fantastic open views over rice paddies, and feels very close to nature. It is extremely quiet, especially at night, and clearly best suited for people who want a relaxing stay rather than sightseeing at a fast pace.
Service was good and attentive. One thing to be aware of is that there are quite a lot of steps up and down to reach the rooms. The staff will kindly carry your luggage, but you still need to walk yourself, so it may not be ideal for elderly guests traveling alone or anyone with difficulty walking.
Breakfast is limited in choice but tasty and well prepared.
A practical tip if you want to buy dried local specialties is to go to the market at the bottom of Nui Sam. It is less picturesque than Chau Doc market, but the products are good quality and prices are not inflated.
For dried squid or fish specifically, go to “Cô Mỵ” shop inside the market. She also has a separate shop on đường 1 near the market which holds different products.
We also enjoyed spotting birds around the property, including bim bip, hoopoe, long tailed black birds, and several other Vietnamese species.
Would definitely recommend, if you want a calm and scenic place to slow down and enjoy the surroundings.
