16 Best Parks in Sydney | Condé Nast Traveler

"Flanked by The University of Sydney's elegant campus on one side and the inner-city neighborhoods of Glebe and Chippendale on the other, pretty Victoria Park offers landscaped lawns, a lake, and cooling pool. Grassy slopes surround little Lake Northam, a tranquil, tree-lined spot for a picnic. At the Broadway end of the park, it’s also home to the 19th century Gardener’s Lodge, which usually hosts a café. Look out for purple jacaranda trees in spring. The other big draw here is Victoria Park Pool (vppool.com.au), a glorious eight-lane, 50-meter outdoor pool for doing laps or lounging in the sun." - Sophie Davies

Limited 2 hours free parking available. Swimming pool and pleasant green environment, perfect for a cup of coffee. Opposite it, you can see the world top no 1 ranking coffee shop, Toby's Estate.

A nice park to send some time, it's got a pond. There are large variety of birds 🐦 here, there is a playground and free BBQ facilities and seating. This park also has a public swimming 🏊‍♂️ pool which is open even with this cold weather, 🥶 there is cafe/ restaurant in the old gardeners cottage. It’s a cross the road from broadway shopping centre. The pond had no fish, ells or turtles for a long time, from when they drained it for maintenance 🙄 the council claimed they housed the water animals and they would be returned when the maintenance was finished. I saw a female councillor supervising worker last year!!! Happy to say there are now ells in the pond!! Hopefully they return the turtles 🐢 🙏 soon. The only restrooms are in the public pool, the BBQ facilities and children's playground is only a few hundred metres away. I was playing with my nieces and they needed to use the restrooms 🚻 we spoke to pool staff, they were friendly and helpful and let my young nieces use the restrooms 🚻 thank God 😊 for that

Victoria Park is a beautifully maintained green space right across from the University of Sydney, offering a peaceful escape in the heart of the city. With its wide open lawns, mature trees, and calm atmosphere, it's perfect for picnics, walks, reading, or simply relaxing under the sky. The park is family-friendly, with a spacious playground for kids and plenty of room for them to run and explore. It's also a favorite among students, joggers, and locals looking for a quiet moment in nature. In addition to its natural beauty, Victoria Park hosts various cultural events and community gatherings throughout the year—from outdoor markets and art installations to music performances and food festivals. These events bring the park to life and make it a vibrant part of Sydney's cultural landscape. The Victoria Park Pool is a great bonus, offering an inviting place to swim during the warmer months, and the small lake with a fountain adds a peaceful charm to the setting. Whether you're there to unwind, spend time with family, or enjoy a local event, Victoria Park is a versatile and welcoming space that offers something for everyone.

Wonderful, well maintained lung space on the borders of the sprawling University of Sydney campus. One of its exits take you onto the Broadway shopping centre. Lovely flowers and green spaces. Plenty of benches to sit and relax with a coffee and sandwich and watch the busy students go by or enjoy the dogs run around to their hearts content. Just one of those parks that make Sydney so livable.

We’re blessed to have this beautifully maintained oasis of calm nestled between Chippendale, Glebe and Sydney University.

I like my birds, a dozen turtledoves, two magpies and four or five kookaburras.

Sydney must spend a fortune on landscaping, I've never seen a public park so well manicured. There aren't many benches, I'm assuming to encourage finding a nice shaded spot on the grass. Which definitely won't be a problem, the trees in this park are amazing!

A well maintained park is very tidy and clean. The flowers are in full bloom, which sounds like a nice enjoyable place to walk, eat lunch, and read a book nice!
