If you like the Golden Girls tv show well this live stage performance is a must see. The show is very detailed to the tv show from set, clothing and the very funny talented actors. Since it premiers during the holiday season, it adds holiday music for the audience to song along. I loved it so much, I had them sign my coloring book I received this year for my 50th birthday..

I stumbled across this place a year ago. I was in town and saw they had Hedwig & the Angry Inch, a personal favourite, so I went blindly. I didn't realize it was a smaller, Indy, semi-professional troop, but let me tell you it was absolute perfection. Hedwig with that cast, venue and crowd was a perfect mix. This year (2019) I was back for a quick trip and saw they had the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I know the music but not familiar enough to call myself a fan. AGAIN! A perfect marriage: the script, actors, venue and crowd making for an unforgettable experience. I will be back!!!

We are visiting from Seattle and attended the last 2021 performance of "The Golden Girls Live". This was a wonderful funny performance that was excellently acted by everyone. The between scene live piano music was great and very fun. I hope to return for another show when I visit again in the future.

This was our second year seeing the Golden Girls Live at the Victoria! Such a blast! I can't say enough about this show - so much fun from the sing-a-long to the show to the meet and greet at the end. The theater itself could use some updating - tiny bathrooms (with really long lines) and cramped seats - but it adds to the personality. Such a fun night!

Nice old school theater. The seats are bit to close so if you have shoulder prepare to Shrink your body to fit in. The bathroom situation would normally be fine if they set it up will but it’s a gender neutral bathroom separated by curtains not walls so it’s unclear if people are in the bathroom which can create some confusion, the musical I saw was top tier

It’s a fine theater. The mezzanine doesn’t slope too high in the back so you get a lot more heads in the way. Not too interesting of a theater either. The worst part is the poor ventilation. I watched a show where everyone pretty much ran out during intermission to air themselves out and the theater staff didn’t seem to take any notice to it. Made the show very uncomfortable to watch

I absolutely love "The Golden Girls - The Christmas Episodes" performance in drag that is shown here every year. It's become an annual holiday tradition for my friends and me. The drag queens do an amazing job reenacting Golden Girls episodes word-for-word. They usually do two episodes per year. And there is a really jolly man that plays the piano in between set changes and sings Christmas carols. The whole thing is amazing. Make sure to stay after the performance to get a photo with the cast. And bring cash for the drinks and popcorn!

The seats are a little cramped (I'm a plus sized woman but I was still able to fit in between the armrests) and was very warm inside with all the other people. Staff was extremely friendly. Woman's bathroom only had 2 stalls. While the theatre was alright, the production was fantastic.

OMG, there was only one toilet and one urinal in the men's room, so I'd suggest skipping the fajitas before the show. But hey, the seats were roomy, a nice surprise for a theatre originally built in 1908. Believe it or not, this was my first visit here. There are 480 seats in the house, and all of them were occupied for "The Golden Girls Live! The Christmas Episodes". Jamie W. and I were almost too late to get tickets because we had no idea how quickly the show sells out every year. We realized we missed Heklina as Dorothy since he passed in April, but we looked forward to see Coco Peru step into the deep-throated role. The entire cast was fabulous as they recreated two memorable episodes from the series. The first was the one where Blanche's virile soldier beau from her past has become a mild-mannered pharmacist. The second was where Dorothy reignites the crush she had on her high school English teacher, and due to Rose's desperation, Dorothy and Blanche end up on a talk show identified as a lesbian couple. They were remarkably faithful to the original shows. In between scene set-ups were infectious holiday carol sing-alongs. The intermission was gratefully extended to accommodate the limited restroom facilities. There was a cash bar which we bypassed, and shockingly, we didn't wait in the very long line for a selfie with the cast. I preferred keeping my memories of their epic performance intact. It was a fun time in a great house. And if you threw a party Invited everyone you knew Well, you would see the biggest gift would be from me And the card attached would say 'Thank you for being a friend'. If you're one of the geeks that likes to use homelessness and blight as a reason to not like San Francisco then boy do I have the place for you! You'll love the area around Victoria Theater. But if you're not a coward then come watch a show here if you can. I think their production values are mostly quite good and from what I've seen, the performers always work their asses off and are passionate about their craft. If I had to complain about something it'd be that it's HOT AS BALLS HERE. I enjoyed watching the show last night but it felt like a sauna in here. Watching from the balcony also means almost definitely having an obstructed view. You'll likely miss at least part of the stage because of how angles work. Also, the sound system isn't great. I'm sure the Legally Blonde show I watched last night had some fantastic punchlines but I couldn't understand a lot of them because the audio is very muffled. It's bad when I can hear people in the audience whisper "What did they say?" more audibly than what the performers are saying with mics. So it's hot and the speakers suck. But other than that, I love it here.

This is the oldest theatre in the city. I went to see the golden girls live performance. The show itself was a lot of fun with a good crowd and atmosphere. The theater itself is old with older seats and has only one small bathroom with 2 stalls for everyone. It's older and not really enough for a full audience. Everything is online. It's almost impossible to get any service they don't answer the phone and it's difficult to get any information. I tried calling and getting information about parking since they didn't have any but they also don't provide any information on where to park. This might be ok for locals, but coming in from outside of the city it's not helpful. Inside the staff are pretty snooty to people they don't know and they seem to have a large number of regulars. The theater is in a pretty bad area with a lot of homeless, mess and dirty streets. I saw people using drugs and shooting up in the area so be careful about that. The theater itself was pretty good but they need better information, renovations and service.

Saw, Cruel Intensions the 90s Musical, last night. We sat in row O which is the last row on the ground floor. It wasn't too far, can still see the performer's face alright. The bar is located as soon as you enter. They had popcorn for $7, candies for $5, water for $3, and non alcoholic drinks on one side. The other side was selling wine for $10, double wine for $18 and beer for $10. The wine is served in a flimsy plastic cup. There's cup holders next to the chairs. The popcorn was extremely salty for my taste. It's a small and I couldn't even finish half of it because it was that salty. Because it's an old theatre, the rows are closer to each other so someone with long legs will be uncomfortable unless you get lucky and get an aisle seat. Bathrooms was small, one only had 2 stalls, but was gender neutral. It could have better ventilation or use of some air freshener.

We saw Cruel Intentions here. It was our first time at the theatre. We've lived in the Mission for a while and hadn't noticed it. The musical/play was great. So fun and it was a small group of us who went. The theatre is a bit older but such a chilled atmosphere and the decor suits the Mission. Great bar and easy to buy drinks. Will definitely return!

I came to watch The Golden Girls Christmas Show with friends. Per usual, the show left me in pain from laughing so much. The theater is on the smaller side, with a very narrow entrance and closely spaced seats. If you're planning to sit on the main level, keep in mind the seats on the side slide forward and recline for some reason while those in the center remain static. The location is perfect though. Bart, restaurants and bars are a quick 5 minute walk down the street.

This is a very tiny old theatre. The seats are on the smaller side, so you'll be touching elbows with the person next to you. I wouldn't suggest bringing a large bag or anything inside since there really isn't room in front of you to set them down. They have a bar and the bathrooms are incredibly tiny and limited. Be sure to go to the restroom before you show up so you don't have to use them. There are parking lots and restaurants near by which was a great bonus as well.

Went to the Victoria Theatre for the Golden Girls Live. First off, Golden Girls Live is a must-see. Tons of great energy from both the performers and the audience, and there's even a mobile bar! The venue itself is kind of tired and there's not a lot of leg room with the seats, but it's in a prime spot in the Mission District. Tall people should be aware, but it's pretty solid overall.

Went to see Jinkx and Dela's "All I want for Christmas is attention" in Dec 2019. They are both incredibly talented and funny so of course the show was fantastic as always. The historic theatre itself could use a little face lift as far as some of the cosmetics go but it's intimate, charming and the sound and lighting are good so it's really not an issue. Additionally, the staff are helpful and friendly and parking wasn't too terrible to find on a Saturday night. We managed to get a spot a couple blocks away. Lots of good places nearby to catch a meal before a show as well.

Great venue! Not a bad seat in the house! Cruel Intentions was so FUN, don't miss it! Support local live theatre!

It was my first year attending the "Golden Girls Christmas Live!" And it was incredible. Being a Golden Girls fan, I can't stress enough how well the actors pulled off the characters. Head to toe, shoulder pads and pastel slacks- to the mannerism and body language- it was PERFECTION! Walking into the theatre, it was a very intimate setting. I particularly enjoyed that, considering every seat in the theatre was a winner! There were concessions such as popcorn, water, alcohol, soda, and candy bars- personally, my boyfriend and I got popcorn and water and it was very fulfilling. The line for the bar can be a bit confusing and it was a snug squeeze down to our seats because everyone was in line for the bar- which would be my only complaint. The merchandise was adorable, and very well priced- I was worried I wouldn't get one in time because our seats were nearest to the wall and there was a crowd, but I managed to get the cartoon image of all the ladies on a pink tee! Every one of the staff members were friendly, and while it may be a bit tricky, the seats were very comfortable to sit in. The old charm of Victoria theatre really made the experience, it was a complete and full house - the piano stylings and sing along Christmas carols were a great in between as well! I don't want to give away any spoilers, but just to be prepared, there are two episodes performed with a break in between- so it's a great idea to plan your day out if you're planning on doing any errands before or after in SF. This was easily the best live show I've seen, and it's got my curiosity in seeing the Friends Live! Show. Being in my 20s, it feels as though Christmas can lose a bit of spark each year, or it adds more stress, but there was something about the room of the theatre that night during its final performance. I felt the Christmas spirit so strong, and there was a sense of unity as we all laughed at the same jokes and surprises. Thank you to everyone who is apart of this, it made my year and I look forward to attending next Christmas as well.

According to their website this is one of the oldest running theaters in San Francisco. Located in the mission district, this venue is easily accessible by taking the 16th and mission Bart. Came here to watch the annual drag performance Golden Girls Live, which I totally recommend! You can tell the age of the theater by some pealing paint and narrow seats. However it functions perfectly in terms of acoustics, etc. I love that they have drinks and snacks here. One thing to note is at least for the women's restroom, there are only two stalls so it takes a while to get through the line, so use the restroom before you come here if you can.

Not a large theatre but they host unusual films and festivals. Popcorn a reasonable size, not like Cinemark or other standard theaters where you are pretty sure you won't have to eat for a week. They serve wine and beer as well. Audio and seats were good, a nice rake so you don't notice the person in front of you. Parked in the Hoff St parking garage, $3/hour not bad. If no spaces they will start parking cars behind yours but happy to shuffle around for you to get out. Pre pay with license plate # and credit card. Very short walk to theater. Streets were relatively crowded with homeless, saw something I hope to never see again, but really no reflection on the theater!! But truly... where DO the homeless get to go potty? Let's suffice it to say I have never been tempted to do what she did even while standing in line for the two stall (?!?!) restroom in the theater!

I watched a movie at the Victoria Theatre. It was Kodachrome with Jason Sudeikis/Elizabeth Olsen and he made a visit. It was a wonderful presentation by SFFilm. It was a cozy theatre to see the movie at. The movie will be on Netflix.

It's a small, intimate theater so any seat is a decent seat. (Although if you're tall like the hubby you may find the leg room quite tight.) Both productions I've seen here, Silence: The Musical and The Rocky Horror Show, were impressively good with truly great actors. They're also pretty unique productions that you won't likely find at bigger theaters. It could use a little freshening up, but the history of the theater is certainly part of its charm. The Victoria makes for a wonderful night of great nearby food/drinks and supporting relatively affordable local theater.

Golden Girls Live...one word...HYSTERICAL! This is a must see for everyone. Who knew?!?! Thanks for the laughter and the FUN.

Hip unassuming place with character. Saw Rocky Horror the Musical and Kinky Boots here. They have a bar. Try not to use the bathroom.

I've been going to the Victoria theater since the Trannyshack has moved there for their Golden Girls xmas show. Use to be in an even smaller theater. Going to this show is an absolute blast! So much heart. Bathrooms are on the small side. Only 2 stalls on the women's side. Be sure to go before and during intermission. Since this is an old theater, seats are close together and not a lot of leg room. I feel the way the stage is designed, I can hear the actors without mics and that is a huge plus in the world of theater. That's why I decided to give it 5 stars. Heart and sound. Oh there is a counter in the front where they sell drinks and snacks.

The novelty of the old historic theater quickly wears off after about 20 minutes in one of the horribly uncomfortable seats. But the rudest Awakening is if you have to use the restroom. This theater holds several hundred people, but the rest rooms are smaller than something that you would find in a one bedroom house, and I'm not exaggerating. The men's room consists of two toilets with curtains around them . And God save you if there's a fire or an earthquake while you're inside. This theater is 50 years overdue for a complete renovation.

This theatre's age is part of its charm and is an added element to your show viewing experience. Built in the 1908, it's San Francisco's oldest theatre and a city landmark, so perhaps it's worth your while to check it out at least once. They host a variety of plays, concerts, live performances, musicals and films. For me, it was the drag performance "Golden Girls: The Christmas Episodes" that attracted me to Victoria Theatre. Good times. Know before you go: :: Concession stand is cash bar only. :: Imbibe with caution; the ladies' restroom only has two stalls and the line is looooong. :: Seating is no assigned, so get there early for prime seat pickin'.

Little shop of Horrr!!! Orrrs!!!! Vic theater a great space for such shows--and the cast shows total commitment to the music and the story. The staging an direction is imaginative. Truly a privilege to have such talent & expertise here...But. Don't feed the plants!!!

We had a lot of fun watching Jesus Christ Superstar with an all female cast #Shesus. This theatre is run by all volunteers and they put up a wonderful production. Every seat has a great view of the stage. We'll be back!

I came here for an indie fest event and it was a really fun environment! They had different concessions and were actually also selling pizza. They had the bars open all throughout the movie which was convenient. People were dancing in the front! I liked how it was a comfortable environment and everyone was pretty chill. The bathrooms were very clean! I enjoyed my time in this old school theater.

Built in 1908 and located in the sketch area of the mission...this just oozes history and I LOVE IT. It's a small 500 person theater with some cramped seating on the balcony/mezzanine but I've never had a comparable theater experience (in a good way). A true gem that is underappreciated and a relative unknown as we pass by it all the time without batting an eye as Bay Area residents. Props to whoever can name the U.S. President in 1908....(Teddy Roosevelt).

Golden Girls Christmas Show 2017 BEST. SHOW. EVAH!! The first time I attended this performance was December 2014, balcony, and Cookie Dough was on stage! What a great night! What a fun evening! And to attend this past Sunday night was a girl's dream come true! Front row, with my daughter and friends. Life is so good! A must-see show. You definitely do not need to have ever seen the sitcom on tv though........the laughs keep on coming. You just can't help but laugh and whoop! So get yourself down there. Now! You're welcome!!

I adore the charm of an old theater, even though old theaters are not generally tall people-friendly. (The Victoria Theatre is no exception, with tiny bathrooms and budget leg room.) Time has made it a little rough around the edges, but still a delightful place to spend the evening. The nice thing about the size, is that it warrants itself to a more intimate theater experience. Most recently, we saw the Golden Girls Christmas show here and it was fun to be packed in, especially while everyone did their most rousing rendition of the theme song at the start of the show, as well as holiday tunes between scenes. There is a certain warmth to the theater. Or maybe that was all the drunk people... Another thing I appreciate about this theater is its close proximity to BART. It is literally steps away from the 16th & Mission station.

Went to see The Hunchback of Notre Dame on Friday and it was amazing. Nice cozy theatre, staff was friendly. Hoping to go back and catch more shows.

It's nice to know that some parts of the city haven't been absorbed by the lemming like techie onslaught . As we walked around the mission area where this theater is located,we saw the charms of "old San Francisco " being slowly suffocated by spanking new buildings with probably outrageous rents pushing out the soul of the city . So it's nice to see a part of the mission still holding on . And even though it's an old theater ,and the seats are small and cramped , and it could do with a revamp , to me it represents what makes this city so beautifully eccentric and unique . I hope that the performers here continue to bring great shows like the Golden girls review (which is what we came here for) and keep this place open for as long as possible .

If you are a fully grown adult, beware of the balcony seats! I'm very petite, and I was actually able to rest my legs on top of the seats (see picture). If my knees hit the back of the seat in front of me, I don't see how the average adult could've been comfortable in the balcony seats. I've been to Victoria Theatre twice to watch my friend perform in two Ray of Light Theatre productions, The Rocky Horror Show and, more recently, Jerry Springer The Opera. Due to the sharp angle, anyone sitting directly in front of me would've completely blocked my view of the stage so I had to throw my bag onto the seat in front of me. I sat in the balcony both times, and I honestly don't remember overflowing into the next row. Also, make sure you arrive with an empty bladder and try to hold off on drinks during the show. The restrooms are tiny, and there's guaranteed to be a line during intermission...even for guys. Other than that, parking is relatively easy around 16th St, and this theatre is a classic.

Yes, this theater is old and shows its age a bit. But it has a unique charm all its own! I saw Golden Girls: Live recently and loved it! I would go back! I kinda wish the rows were wider and there was more bathrooms though, haha.

I came here to watch Hair. The production was good. The theater was mediocre. Nothing special about it... old and small venue. It probably means more to you if you're into San Francisco history/culture than I am. Conveniently located next to 16th/Mission BART station.

I love this place and am so glad it is still in use. Sure, it's old and run down, but has so much history and character. Would be great to have it totally restored. I have performed here several times, seen films here, many musicals - all good views. Although 16th St Bart will probably always feel dangerous at night, Capp Street is much better lit now, so it doesn't feel as sketchy as it did in the 80s and 90s.

The Victoria has an actual stage and movie screen. Like the Roxie nearby, it's a funky older theater - I usually only go there for Frameline film festival presentations. I can never remember which theater has more comfortable seats - Roxie or Victoria. The bathrooms are small and funky in both of them. The Victoria has a larger upstairs balcony -- the view is pretty good up there, some of the seating on the floor near the side isn't so great but it's small enough that most of the seats are pretty good.

This is the third time I've been to this theater - Pageant, Carrie, and now Sex and the City Live. In spite of being old and run down, I really like it. It seems like anywhere you sit you have a good site-line. They have a bar and let you bring in your drinks and food, which is always nice. And if you are willing to walk a little, street parking is not too difficult. The staff is very friendly in a 'let's all have fun' kind of way, which makes your experience a little more homey. As I said, the theater is old, but that just makes it charming instead of seedy.

This theater is literally across the street from 16th Street BART station. Now you can envision the location and the people. Bunch of homeless people FYI. Typical Mission neighborhood vibe. I went to this venue for a meet and greet to meet a YouTuber, I know I know, lol. Right when you walk in there is a small snack bar and then the theater behind it. It's fairly small but there is a balcony as well. I plan to come back to check out their other events!

"YIPPEE.. SPIKE AND MIKE's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation is BACK.. ." Seen it here two years in a row now. Saw bike movie mix here too. A rather small theatre but getting some drinks in is no problem. Seems like most people going here do this as I found a small empty bottle of vodka on one of the seats. Also heard afew glass bottles fall to the floor during the flick(one of the bottles was mine). No deductions for that. I would give it +2 more stars if I could.

I've driven by this theater numerous times while cutting across town. I always thought it was closed and awaiting demolition then replacement by an aging center. (This was the fate of the Coronet!!!). My misconception of it's operating status was due to the fact that it appears neglected from the outside and there is always a group of unsavory characters hanging around out front. Then along comes the San Francisco Independent Film Festival and their lineup includes screenings at the Roxie and here. I actually had to look up the Victoria on Yelp because I had no idea where it was but then I had one of those "AH HA" moments and then I realized i was a boob for not remembering and that I was a boob for using such a poor run-on sentence in this review. Once you pass the old-school ticket counter and then through the anemic lobby your expectations are really low for he main hall. But it is huge and gorgeous. Exactly what an old school single screen theater should look like. I had heard rumors of it being incredibly dirty and shoddy inside but I didn't find this to be the case. The seats were comfy if not a little close together. The screen was square but I'm assuming all screens were square one hundred years ago. No that's not a misprint. This theater is one hundred years old and opened in 1908. It's hosted movies, vaudeville acts, stand-ups, speeches. Everything. It was even a back-drop for a Walter Mathau movie from the 70's. This just means that it's doomed to be turned into a high rise. Hah! I will do my part and throw money its way (in the form of admission) whenever I can to keep this spot alive.

Hmm, paint peeling off the walls and those old fashioned water hoses for when there's a fire don't inspire confidence . . . still, we had a fun trip down memory lane (with the hipsters and their iPhones) watching live reenactments of the Golden Girls Christmas episodes with the more manly versions of Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia.

Last night we the Gurls came to see The Rocky Horror Show. We arrive just in time and the seats that we got were good. I have to say that this is the second time I saw a play here, about 5yrs ago I saw Head Wig and the Angry Itch, that too was great!! I love the style of this theater just the only thing was the sound. We had to ask to maybe turn up the volume during intermission. But over all the staff and the theater is truly a gem in the mission.

Came here to see a Sex and the City Live drag show and it was pretty fantastic. The theatre is pretty old-school but I prefer that; I definitely mean that in every positive way. The vibe was charming and we still got a good view of the stage from the back corner row aka the "you can't sit with us" section. I also liked that when we were in line to get in, the lady already had a list of people who got their tickets either from Goldstar (which was me) or somewhere else. The show itself was hilarious, especially if you were a fan of the original series - a lot of the references were spot on. I would definitely like to come back and check out more shows here!

The Wedding Singer was a great production! The theater is historic and quaint. I can't wait to check out more production here.

I saw my first movie here this weekend during the SF screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark: the Adaptation. For the uninitated, this adaptation is a scene-by-scene recreation of the first Indiana Jones film created by a group of 12 year old boys beginning in 1984. 6 years later they finished their piece which later received a green light from Steven Spielberg. I'm impressed by any theater that would choose to host this film. I'd be very happy to catch movies here in the future if they can keep pulling in some interesting films.

I love stinky old theaters and this one fits the bill, plus it's in my 'hood. You walk in, scan, and conclude, yep, it's sure ornate and old. Maybe I'm getting cranky, though, because once the doors closed and the lights went out, the seats seemed impossibly small with no room for my legs (was everyone under 5 feet tall back then?) and there was no air ventilation. But hey, that's part of its charm, right?

It is fun seeing a movie here... Old-school theatre, sound and screen are decent, but they have no idea what heating is. It's always freezing in here! But they have cheap concessions that offer hot chocolate and coffee to make up for it! Nomnomnom! I usually go here for Spike and Mike though...:-)

I came here to see the Volare Variety show on 2/7/15 to see my friend perform her pole dancing routine. Yes, that's a legitimate dance style people. Them ladies can work that pole yo. This theatre isn't the newest but it does have a great location near the 16th and Mission BART station. It literally is located less than a block away. Inside the theater, it's a different story. There's only one small bathroom for men and ladies so you can look forward to a long line of waiting to relieve yourself if you come here. My suggestion: go before you come here. The seats and the view inside were cozy enough for a nice intimate feel but it does still feel dated. I wouldn't mind coming here again to see my friend perform but for other shows, I'll probably pass.

Oldest theatre in SF from what I've heard. Fantastic views from all over the theater. Saw another Ray of Light musical here. SILENCE! The musical. It's a great troupe, but they felt it necessary to amplify the voices to much it lost the intimacy of the space, and even made it harder to hear the lyrics. With a better sound set up (speakers eye level for the performers), and having it reduced to enhancement it would really work well for musicals. I also saw HUMPFest here and it converts to a movie theatre quite well. I love the vibes this old theatre has and look forward to anything here right by BART.

We've got to be nice to this theater, because it's most likely destined for the same fate that most of the other single-screen theaters in this town have gone. But it does have the advantage of not having been exclusively built for cinema, so with the stage, even if films can't support this place, perhaps theater or other live productions will. But it's pretty prime real estate at 16th and Mission so here's crossing my fingers it doesn't get boarded up and then turned into a McDonald's or something. That would suck. The screen is pretty square, which is a little off-putting at first, but you get used to it. As well, it's pretty cold in there, so although I bundled up, next time I go, I will bring a little blanket. It's a drafty and slightly musty old theater. But it's got charm and character. And in this era of the googolplexes, this place is a welcome alternative.
