What a beautiful, beautiful hotel; staying here and walking through the grounds makes you feel very honoured to be in a former royal residence. The hotel is across the road from the Mekong River and the breakfast area is on a patio underneath some frangipani trees overlooking the river. Everything is so peaceful and quiet and every now and then a frangipani flower will drop onto your breakfast table. Hotel staff are extremely polite and professional and always greet you with a warm smile. From the front desk staff to the breakfast staff, everyone was so welcoming. The breakfast variety was great and we got to try some things that we had not eaten before. You could also have eggs/omelettes made to order as well as custom-made noodle soup - just how you like it. Victoria Xienthong is one of the best hotels I have stayed in and will be one that I always remember.

Our recent stay at Victoria Xiengthong Palace was simply magnificent, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless and filled with exceptional service. We were met directly at the airport by the hotel's complimentary shuttle, a thoughtful and welcoming gesture that set the tone for our entire visit. The staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating throughout our stay, always going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Our villa room was exceptionally spacious and beautifully appointed, providing a true sense of luxury. We especially loved our private balcony, which offered a tranquil spot to relax and take in the serene surroundings. One of the highlights of our trip was the hotel's sunset cruise on the Mekong River. This experience was truly unforgettable, offering breathtaking views as the sun dipped below the horizon. It was a perfect, peaceful moment we will cherish. The breakfast was another standout, with a delicious and varied selection that easily met our expectations. It was the perfect way to start each day.

A disappointing stay particularly for the price. Pros: - very nice staff - good location in historic buildings Cons: - We were given a room with a jacuzzi which didn't work and only served to attract mosquitos - Disappointing breakfast, at which most of the hot food was cold at 7.30am - Very old tech in the room including noisy aircon, TVs which badly need replacing and a speaker without Bluetooth that only works with the provided iPod Nano (literally 15 years old!) - incredibly high prices for cruises and transfers that can be had for much cheaper when not going through the hotel. Transfers to the airport are ~540k LAK, we got a car through Indrive for 70k. I understand a markup for hotels organising, but 8x is way too much. Ditto the price for the cruises.

Beautiful room with huge balcony. In the middle of town so easy to walk everywhere. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was great with a few bits we'd never tried before.

I booked this hotel because I heard it used to be King Sisavang’s royal residence. The entire place carries deep historical and cultural significance. The staff were very friendly, especially Ms. India, who personally guided me to my room and had a lovely little chat with me.|The room was spotless, cozy, and had a beautiful garden view.|I enjoyed my meal under the tree planted by the Queen herself — it made the food taste even more delightful.

This hotel is an incredible spot in this village which is quite touristic and local experiences are valuable. The staff is always on everything and will provide advise on different activities. Attention to little details both in the rooms and common zones are unique. Cleanliness of the facilities, restaurant and common areas is 10/10.

“Great hotel facing the river!” The hotel was very clean and staffs were friendly. It is a great location as only few minutes walk to the night market and food area. Definitely recommended for stay in Luang Prabang.

The hotel has an ideal location along the Mekong River and is a short walk from the Wat Xiengthong. As a former royal residence, the architecture is beautiful and full of history and charm.||Service is so thoughtful and attentive too with a high level of care that distinguishes the hotel. They are prompt with booking and pre-arrival in a way that is way above some of the more expensive hotels in LP.
