Our Favorite Weird, Wild Sculpture Gardens

"The unusual spiritual visions of an Irishman were created in stone by craftsmen in Mahabalipuram, India, and now populate a sculpture park in County Wicklow, Ireland. Covering 22 acres, the park includes a series of dancing figures of Ganesh, Shiva, and other Hindu deities. It also includes more bizarre sculptures of a skeletal Buddha-like figure, an enormous disembodied finger, and a sculpture called “The Split Man” which shows a figure ripping itself in two, representing “the mental state of the dysfunctional human.” Intended to represent the spiritual progression to enlightenment, this collection of 14 statues took 20 years to complete. A plaque dedicates the park to mathematician Alan Turing. The park was known as Victoria’s Way until 2015, when it was closed by the owner, who stated, “Too may day-trippers came turned it into a fun park for parents with children. It was designed as a contemplative garden for over 28’s.” It was reopened in 2016 as Victor’s Way (reverting to its original name) with new age restrictions." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Victor’s Way is a truly unique and thought-provoking sculpture park nestled in the peaceful woodlands of County Wicklow. Unlike a traditional tourist attraction, this sanctuary is designed for quiet reflection, mindfulness, and spiritual exploration. As you walk along the forest paths, signposts gently guide you toward different experiences, such as the Meditation Path and the Forest Sculptures, creating a sense of journey and discovery. The lush greenery and the serene atmosphere make it an ideal place to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

Fantastic place with magnificent sculptures so many to see, each has it's own story, really unique and the craftsmanship is out of this world. The massive Druid is a splendor. No food served so bring a picnic toilets available there. Such a magical experience.

I recently visited this beautiful sculpture garden park, and it was a really nice leisure activity for a Sunday with friends or family. The park has many sculptures shaped in India, all placed within the adorable property of Sr. Victor. The statues are really well shaped, with loads of historical beliefs linked to them, making the walk both relaxing and meaningful. The path through the park ends with a giant surprise that makes the whole experience even more special. Definitely worth going there!

It's much larger than I expected and in beautiful surroundings. The artwork isn't really to my taste, but that's a personal preference and not a reflection of the quality of the sculptures on display. If you like graphic and unusual art with a spiritual and Buddhist influence, I definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic place for those who seek peace and head space. It is very interesting and beautifully kept land. I could spend a lot of time around the grounds relaxing and soaking up the peacefulness of the place. It's probably not great for younger kids.

Victor's way is unique place to visit. Every sculpture has its own magic, story, lesson. It is a quiet peaceful contemplative space. In a world of noise and rushing around it makes you stop and smell and listen. I would definitely return here, alone, to visit the space. It is very well maintained and is a welcoming space, with car parking and toilet facilities. The cover charge is very reasonable.

A good place to visit especially when you have guests visiting from India. The drive to the place itself is serene and the atmosphere inside is very soothing and relaxing. Tickets have to be booked online and shown at the gate before entry. Better to take it beforehand as mobile struggles to find range.

The view here is beautiful and scenic. You can park your car outside and purchase tickets for €10 per person to enjoy the beauty of nature. You'll find sculptures of Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, and Lord Shiva. There are also huge trees and lush green grass all around. Public restrooms are available for your convenience.
