We stayed here during the second week of December and it was amazing. The pool is beautiful and the rooms are as mentioned. It is very well located within the walled old city and close to many of the temples (walking distance). There is a halal restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel called Napia Restaurant. The host of the restaurant is a very warm lady and they serve some of the best Thai dishes. The hotel staff is very warm and courteous. Would definitely stay here if we visit Chiang Mai again.

Well located. Pool is cool. Quiet area next to the busy street and great laundry service next to the hotel. However the bikes are for rent for a fee and the rooms are not soundproof. Especially the bathroom it resonates in the whole building (I had one with tiny balcony) the walls and windows are paper thin. A bit expensive for the room and service provided. I did not try the breakfast. Well decorated though especially for Christmas.

The hotel is located within the walls of the old city of Chiang Mai near the famous Tha Phae Gate and is just 100 metres from a lively walking street that held on every Sunday evening. Our room was clean and nice, especially the balcony. However, the hotel doesn't offer breakfast.||P.S. The street is closed for a walking street on every Sunday evening. The only access to the hotel is by walking from a canal road into an alley where a hotel is located.

We liked this hotel a lot. The rooms were very spacious and clean. It was a great location, close to everything we wanted to get to in Chiang Mai.

The Vieng Mantra is in a great location just by one of the gates in the old town. It’s in easy reach of restaurants, bars and local shops. The renowned Sunday night walking market is just at the end of the road. The bed was comfortable the room was clean and the bathroom was nice. What was disappointing was the breakfast. There was a choice of three set American breakfasts but they didn’t start serving until 7.30am if you’re going out on a day excursion it was too late. One morning we did have the breakfast and it took 45 minutes to arrive and was disappointing. Book without breakfast as there are plenty of nice places to go with a quick walk of the hotel.

Such a cute and cozy place. Room and toilet are both clean and comfy, it even has a balcony. Also theres a restaurant right next to the lobby, serves the best local food, had the pad kra paw, and honestly it was the best ive tasted in chiangmai

Had a great 3 night stay here. Location is perfect in the old town. It’s tucked away on a quiet street but steps from a busy road which leads to shopping and restaurants. Hotel itself is very nice and clean. The balcony rooms are especially nice for relaxing in the cool air at night. Rooms are as advertised and quite roomy. Note: free breakfast is only if you pay in cash.

The place is conveniently located in Old Town area, in a proximity of Tha Phae Gate. The building has tons of character that’s why we have kept coming back to this hotel since 2016. The rooms with a pool view and balcony are the best to book. Unfortunately this time our stay was pretty disappointing. Despite the fact that we booked the room way in advance and particularly asked to accommodate us in a quiet room since we stay for 7 nights they gave us a room right across the construction site. They did upgrade our room category but the noise was extremely loud since they literally were tearing the whole building down from 8am to 4pm. So we asked the reception to change the room for us since we stay for the entire week but they never found a solution.
In general the condition of the place is pretty sad. The facilities and rooms look very dated. The bathroom sink had a leak that they fixed quickly however a smell of sewerage was pretty strong all the time. AC was quite old and noisy too. The bed was comfortable though.
Upon check-out they also charged us for Singha beer that someone posted on our room. It was kind of a last straw to get disappointed with the staff attitude. As our taxi was already waiting to leave to the airport we decided to drop it. I don’t think we’ll book this place next time we are coming back to Chiang Mai.
