"Modern architecture at Vienna's University of Economics and Business Though many may associate Vienna's architecture primarily with its Neoclassical and Jugendstil structures, which are indeed outstanding, they may be surprised by the creative modern architecture here. One place lovers of architecture will not want to miss is the new campus of the University of Economics and Business. These 21st century designs are not only visually stimulating, but also have high standards of energy efficiency and sustainability. The main attraction is the Library & Learning Center designed by star architect Zaha Hadid. Inside is a bright, spacious world characterized by her signature sweeping curves, evoking images of a futuristic sci-fi film set. Other contributors include Hitoshi Abe from Sendai, Japan, Estudio Carme Pinós S.L. from Barcelona, Spain and BUSarchitektur ZT Gmbh from Vienna. Getting here is easy via the U2 underground line. It's close to the Prater park, so a visit here can be combined with a journey out to the city's landmark ferris wheel."

It is an amazing campus worth visiting as one of the city attractions. Do not miss a chance to enjoy the wonderful contemporary architecture of different tastes and forms. The place is well organized so you will definitely not regret it even if it is quite far from the city center.

The architectural value of this university positively surprised me, and walking into the iconic buildings was truly inspiring! I was there as a speaker and participant at a Diversity and Inclusion Conference. The WU Vienna staff was friendly and welcoming, and the conference was truly enriching and well organized. I would certainly love to go back!

The university with the most beautiful architecture in Vienna. The main campus (looks like a spaceship) is a library center. The iron brown one (like an old ship) is a teaching center with classes and an Audimax (the biggest auditorium). A yellow-orange campus (looks like kindergarten) is my favorite. And other campuses (chess campus, tetris campus and a mirror-windows campus). Nice place for a walk, a photography. And of course amazing place to study!

You've seen the pictures, but even more important is the community and the opportunities. The students as well as the professors are top class, and everyone is happy to help and grow together. The campus buzzes with energy thanks to regular events organized by WU (e.g., WU Matters talks, the SCM Speaker Series, etc.), ÖH WU (the student union), and countless student-led initiatives, keeping it fresh and engaging.

My recent visit to the library at Vienna's University (WU) was an absolute delight. The atmosphere at the library was nothing short of inspiring, making it an ideal place for my projects in life science and scientific paper writing. The library provided a serene environment, perfect for deep concentration and research. What stood out the most was the sense of quiet productivity that permeated the library. It was evident that fellow students and researchers were dedicated to their academic pursuits, creating an encouraging atmosphere. I found my time at the library to be highly productive and motivating. It's not just a place to study; it's a sanctuary for those passionate about advancing their knowledge and career. What's more, the library's location is a true advantage. There are wonderful eateries and cafes nearby, providing convenient options for refueling during study breaks. Moreover, the iconic Prater park is just a stone's throw away, offering a creative escape for a leisurely stroll when you need to recharge your inspiration. It's a gem for students and researchers, and I look forward to returning for more productive and inspiring sessions.

Yelp
I haven't been back to school for years since my graduation, My friend had the idea to show me this place around, he told me since I am designer, I might like this place. So I just like followed him up. Well, it took couple station, there we reach this university. It located close to the famous amusement park in Vienna. Like my friend mentioned, I did like this place quite a lot. What a nice place to study. I really like the style of the architecture. There were couple different buildings, I really like the one which really got a geometric look, the one with the black box on the top. It reminds me a building I saw in Hamburg a bit. Inside this building, it was just wow. My friends at my back keep praising this place at my back without stop. "Like a space ship, like in star trek" he said. Hehe, I got what he wanted to say, it was really impressive, very futuristic and neat. We could just go around the hall. To go further need to be the student of this place. Well, I probably wouldn't a subject that interested to me from a University of Economics, but It is definitely a nice place to study. I also like other building near the entrance as well. Another good thing about this place is that the school isn't so far from the city centre, really easy to get around since it got a U-Bahn station around. I think my friend was right, I do like this place and a great place to have a good. Also great that got me thinking to go back to study.

Yelp
The new campus of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) is absolutely, totally, the sh*t awesome! It's one of the greatest assemblages of modern buildings anywhere in the world today. Architects from Austria, Japan, Spain, England, and Iraq have created this campus which is the same length as the Kärntner Straße is from the Opera to Stephansplatz. The Library and Learning Center designed by Zaha Hadid is amazing. I don't think anyone can walk into that building and not say - WOW! Just try to!!. (btw - as most of you probably already know - Zaha Hadid, who is originally from Iraq, is the most famous woman architect in the world and is the only female to ever receive architecture's most prestigious prize - The Pritzker. And she teaches here in Vienna!) I attended a lecture in September by one of the planners of the new campus and I can only tell you after listening to him, how much thought went into this open university campus. Hey.... and the new pub (Lokal) called appropriately - Das Campus - is really cool. And they serve the largest variety of flavored beers in Vienna....Try the maracuja (passion fruit) flavored beer or the green banana beer! Yeah, the new WU Campus is an instant new tourist attraction for Vienna - not that Vienna needs a new tourist attraction.
