Viesca Suites & Villas (Reggello, Tuscany) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Sister to the original Il Borro luxury-hotel estate near Arezzo in the spectacular Tuscan countryside, Viesca is about half an hour closer to Florence, and offers a similarly blissful experience: a 16th-century manor house surrounded by villas, cottages, and gardens, and an atmosphere that effortlessly joins classic country-estate living with the comforts of a modern high-end hotel." - Tablet Hotels

I booked a superior room here for 2 nights. The room was in the main building (Pian Rinaldi) in the center of the property. It was small but had all of the necessities. ||There are several private villas for rent (8) scattered throughout the large property. Most appear to have private pools. This appears to be the way to go if you are staying here. I imagine my experience would have been different staying in a villa, but I was traveling solo.||The staff were friendly. The restaurant menu wasn't expansive, and I was surprised. Perhaps most of the dining occurs in the villas.||I was relaxing by the pool one afternoon, as were several other couples, when something was going on below the nearby kitchen. I'm not sure if there was a problem or if they were cleaning out a septic tank, but that's what it smelled like...very foul. It went on for some time, and eventually everyone vacated the pool area. I would have thought a guest relations person would have come around to apologize or explain, but no one did. In fact, I never saw anyone who appeared to be a manager going around and greeting guests during my time there. I found this unusual for a luxury hotel.||If you want to go into Florence and don't want to drive, the staff recommended driving 10 minutes to a nearby town and taking a 25-minute train ride. That worked perfectly.

We had a wonderful visit at Viesca. We stayed in Villa Pozzo. Was perfect for our family with 3 BR. Pool area is beautiful. The nice thing about viesca is you get the Italian villa experience but also have a prepared breakfast, access to the restaurant, spa, cooking class etc. so the best of both worlds between hotel and villa.

The customer service here is beyond any expectations we had. We had to leave at 6am for a tour and had the service desk schedule transportation for us. Without us even asking, the staff informed us that we’d miss breakfast and that the kitchen would make to go breakfast boxes for us, we just had to remind them at dinner. While having dinner we mentioned the to go boxed only to be told that the boxes are already in our fridge in our room. As far as amenities, we went truffle hunting on site and had success finding some truffles, a very unique experience. As far as just relaxing and having a lazy day, it’s hard to beat a day by the pool with mountains in the background. The food at the on site restaurant is amazing, the onsite gelato is exceptional, and Leonardo and the rest of the staff turn dinner into a dinning experience. Lastly, the AC gets nice and cold. Can’t recommend this place enough.

We stayed here in two rooms. The rooms are spacious, but somehow unimpressive. There was a heat wave during our stay, so it was hard for the A/C to keep up, and is created a definite smell of moisture. The pool is amazing. Our biggest issue here was the staff.|The staff seemed like a bunch of hospitality interns with no leader. Very inconsistent and nobody seemed sure what to do, ever.||Also, the restaurant could be good, but no, and again, the staff. I was served raw chicken and nobody noticed. We met a nice family from Canada and watched as their linebacker of a son didn't even eat the club sandwich; that says it all for the food.||For a Small Luxury Hotel, it was sorely lacking.

We’ve stayed in many beautiful hotels around the world, but this one felt very special. My husband and I loved our stay here so much. The property is massive and stunning- the rooms are perfectly decorated, spacious, clean, luxurious but also intimate. The service was outstanding. We also love the activities they offer and got to play some tennis. We can’t wait to stay here again! Grazie, Viesca!

Beautiful grounds, great professional staff but altogether disappointing. Our room was large and well appointed but felt cold and not welcoming. Breakfast was very good but dinner was the worst food we had in 3 weeks in Italy and we ordered what the restaurant director recommended. The staff recommended some nearby restaurants that were exceptional. Well located for day trips. Most expensive and least rewarding of any stay in Italy. Would not recommend

5-star review really doesn't do this place justice. Absolutely everything was topnotch! If I had to pick something to highlight, it would be the amazing, beautiful and cozy swimming pool that you could lounge at for hours. I would also single out that exception service from all staff, be it at breakfast, dinner, at reception, spa or housekeeping.

What an incredible retreat outside the city. The setting is so beautiful and relaxing. The staff was very helpful in making dinner reservations and suggestions for day trips. Our 3 days went too quickly! We loved the wine, pizza party and gelato!!
