Do not fall for the fake reviews! All the 5 stars reviews are just to get the free mini spring rolls :( This place definitely does not deserve them. The food looks so much better than it tastes. The meat in the bao was good, but overall it was very dry, as there was one tiny teaspoon of sauce at the bottom. Tuna tataki was flavorless. The sauce in the Oh My Bacon was not balanced with too much ginger, totally overpowering the pork. The shumai chicken were chewy and tasteless, fortunately the sauce compensated a bit. Also the restaurant was almost empty and the waiter kept coming every couple of minutes to check if we wanted to order, not understanding that we still needed a few minutes to read the whole menu. He was so insistent for no apparent reason, that I was quite uncomfortable. Unfortunately, here are much better places in Amsterdam.

We loved specifically the fried rice, made us think of a restaurant in our home country! The service was great, the server took his time to explain what the dishes/bites on the menu are. Everything arrived with the perfect timing. The atmosphere is very relaxing, good music and beautiful interior! 🤗

Google
Everything about this place deserves 5 stars – from the warm and welcoming atmosphere to the outstanding food and friendly service. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. You can really tell they put thought and passion into every detail. Whether you’re visiting Amsterdam or live nearby, I highly recommend stopping by. It’s a hidden gem you don’t want to miss. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The sushi was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. It was a bit pricey, but the quality made it worth it. A great spot if you’re looking for good sushi with a slightly upscale feel.

This restaurant serve Asian Fusion dish. Most of menu serve in small portions with reasonable prices so you can try many dishes. The food is flavorful and tasty. Some of them are a bit far from original Asian taste but still quite tasteful. I would like to recommended their buns. The texture is very soft and its taste very good. The stuffed inside is also very nice. One down side is the food serve very slow. The at vibe is nice and chilled. The restaurant is very close to our home so we will definitely visit here more often.

Google
had such a great experience at Vijfnulvijf! The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, the kind of place where you immediately feel welcome. The menu is full of exciting choices – from buns and sushi rolls to Asian streetfood classics – and everything we tried was flavorful and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, and even though it was busy, they made sure we were taken care of. The portions are perfect for sharing, which makes it a fun spot to go with friends or family. Overall, the combination of amazing food, good vibes, and fair prices makes Vijfnulvijf a real gem in Amsterdam Oost. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I've been in this place twice and I love how we can have all these options from different Asian cousines. I brought friends again today to enjoy a great dining experience, one of them is a vegetarian and he was exited with the amount of options he had! The staff is the most friendly and always accommodating, even if you are late for a reservation.. :)

Yelp
The food was good but a little overpriced . Service was ok but very slow . The buns were delicious but the shrimp dumplings very plain.

Yelp
Let's start with: This location is great. Very open feel to the inside, nice furniture - comfortable furniture, I should say. Sort of relaxed and easy going. Service is as bad as you're hearing about this place. It is BAD. It's such a shame. Owners who don't understand the value of a good team and the damage of a bad team. Anyhoodle! The food. The food was so-so (and we had a table FULL of different foods). I'd be willing to bet the chefs (none of which were Asian on the day we were there) weren't in love with their jobs at this restaurant. You know, you truly can taste passion. As much as you can feel it inside of a restaurant. I will try this one later in hopes of them working out their kinks. And by no means is this a review to deter people from having their own experience here, but more of a note to the owners: You've got an incredible location and a nice idea...put some passion and hard work into making it taste and feel great. There's nothing else in this area to really compete with in this style, so why not make a killing by making sure the quality of your food and service are high? Chomp chomp, Yelpers!

Yelp
I really love the big open cozy inviting space that this restaurant holds on the corner of the street. Large enough menu to have options but not overwhelmingly so. The flames salmon roll was my favorite. The Chinese herbal tea pot is plenty for two or three people. The vegan prawn roll is sweet to me a bit chewy but pretty tasty, and the spinach gyoza was crispy on the edges and hot and yummy in the middle! Just how I like my Gyoza. I want to come back another time and try more things on the menu.

Yelp
With a menu as massive as they have, it's bound to be hit or miss, and that's exactly what I found when I came here for lunch with a friend. Pros: Nice atmosphere, lots of seating yet very cozy Relatively friendly, if haphazard, service Fresh and delicious sashimi and spring rolls Cons: Edamame, inexplicably, was wilted and mushy? I can make better edamame in my microwave! A bit slow even though we were the only people in the restaurant The sushi looked a little scary. I didn't eat it but it didn't look too fresh or appealing. Overall: Good stop for lunch or dinner in Oost as long as you don't expect too much.

Yelp
This was our place to go to for breakfast when we was in the beautiful city of dam. Welcoming hosts will make your visit seem very casual and have you leaving with a smile. And a tip: (for the English) Beer for breakfast!!

Yelp
Relaxed restaurant of father Hu and his two sons. Lots of recipes are made according to family recipes. The enthusiasm of the team is contagious. The food is made with passion. Go and meet the Hu-men. http://www.amsterdambitestodiefor.com/savoury/grandmas-shrimp/

Yelp
I tried sushi from this place via the food delivery app deliveroo. They're a bit expensive and the sushi was just ok, and inexplicably salty. The only plus side is the delivery time was relatively quick due to them being pretty close to me. I'm not sure I would try them again. I think I'll keep looking.

Yelp
The food here is amazing and always taste delicious which makes the next part disappointing. We have gone here now 3 times and were so excited to have a great restaurant nearby however each time we came here there has been an issue with the service. I get it that everyone says to expect poor service while in Amsterdam but that is not it as the staff here is very attentive and always willing to help. The problem has always come down to ordering, each time we did not get something we ordered and when mentioning it to the server it always makes us feel awkward as they tell we already ate it or that it is coming still 20 minutes later. I am chalking this up to it being a new restaurant but it is really unfortunate that this last time made us feel so awkward that we almost do not want to go back. Since the food is so good I think we will wait some time before going back so they have some time to work the kinks out of there ordering system.

Yelp
The place is really peaceful, and you can order many dishes because the come in little portions, I went to have dinner with a friend and we order the lamb, yakitori, edamames and also a roll and it was ok! We were really satisfied. It's quite expensive but I think you should try it!

Yelp
I normally don't write reviews but I ought to say that if you're looking for authentic asian food, this is definitely not the place. The beijing duck bun was edible but the meat was dry and tough, and the sushi rice was somewhat sour. That being said, i've only ordered these items off the menu, hence the stars are solely based on the quality of the food. Being an asian, this is definitely a letdown.

Yelp
The very best Asian restaurant in this ugly part of town. So look no further and go sit in one of the many nice and designy chairs at the windows and enjoy the view on these non-touristy streets. The contrast couldn't be bigger. Especially when you're in the meanwhile enjoying the nice flavours from this great kitchen! The food is from all over Asia, a few dishes are Japanese, others are Vietnamese, some Chinese and all are really delicious. Staff is very very friendly. You can tell the owner makes sure his people have your satisfaction as their priority. So we felt a bit awkward, our second visit, when a waitress insisted on taking away all our unfinished little dishes with sauces and dips: In her opinion the flavours wouldn't match those of our next meals... She almost would not just let us try and taste for ourselves... I like to think it was just her way of making sure our experience would be 100% perfect.

Yelp
Visiting from the US, we chose this place near our rental and found the staff engaging, the ambiance pleasant, and the recommended dishes delicious and well presented. Congratulations for making our second night a most enjoyable memory.

Yelp
Perfect summer rolls. Good combination of flavours. Sushi was pretty splendid as well. Pretty brave to open a restaurant at this ugly crossroad, bit this is done really good. Warm atmosphere!

Yelp
Gezellig and has a hip feeling. Staff is nice, but food doesn't really stand out amongst any other Japanese places. Typical experience where everything seems affordable but you have to order 10 4euro dishes to fill you up.
