Vík HI Hostel

We loved our stay at vik hi hostel ! Even though we never saw anyone at the reception it was not a problem at all and the self check in was really convenient for us. The dormitory and the bathrooms were super clean and the shared kitchen was great and very useful ! And there were a lot of chickens, ducks, horses, dogs and a cat : so nice to watch them and play with the dogs !

There was surely put effort in making House 1 a nice place, but the essentials were far off. Mould and @#☆ in the matrasses, poor heating (at the ceiling ?), no lights in the cooking area, only 1 of 2 cooking zones working. All that for the price of €350/night, I will not want to remember this visit very long.

It was a great stay. We had a private room and it was just as we needed. Clean, comfortable and warm. Kitchen is fully equiped and they even left us a letter with discounts to nearby attractions and restaurants. Absolutly worth the money we paid.

Great place, there is lots to do around Vik. The hostel is on a farm, the place next door serves breakfast using their produce. Rooms were clean, kitchen seemed good, friendly place to hang out and meet other travelers. We went for a walk up the hill behind the church, gives you a good view of the town.

The owner is super nice and room is cozy, kitchen and dining room is very clean. It’s not five star but it’s well maintained and got all we need. Also it’s good location so I’d stay here again

Great location. Room had a great view of the ocean. Up on a hill. Breakfast included. Kitchen was nice and big. Close to the main vik area. really a nice cozy place with dogs, a cat and few bird species to keep you occupied.

a very convenient location to the nearby restaurants, supermarket and the black sand beach. Had a great stay for 2 nights. room and bathroom were neat and clean.

This place practically runs itself. The only contact with anyone remotely associated with the hostel was Hunang the teenage cat, although he seemed indifferent to our arrival. On the other hand the three hostel dogs were ecstatic to see us and insisted on accompanying us to the entrance and invited us to play a game of fetch many times throughout our stay. The facility appeared to be clean however the dish soap in the kitchen was so watered down it wouldn't clean anything and we were unsure if the duvet covers on the beds were changed as only the bottom sheet was removable for laundering. It was quiet with low occupancy, and the location was good for day trips, so what more could a traveler ask for? The kitchen was adequate but had no oven. Overall a decent place to stay.
