Vikas Varma MD: Spine Surgeon NYC

It’s been a little over one year since Dr. Varma did my spinal surgery and I am doing so much better than when I first came into his office. I am back to being active as I once was before surgery. He’s reassuring and knowledgeable, and I’m grateful to have been taken care by him and his team.

I had the honor of seeing Dr. Varma on 10-10-2025 for the first time and 2 more times again. He explained my condition very well. I am very happy to be his patient. Need not to go to no other, he is an excellent Dr. 😃👍

Excellent. Dr. Varma takes his time to explain things so that you understand them and provides honest direct feedback. He's very practical and will tell you what you really need, or need to do. No frills, but all delivered with empathy. I have a lot of confidence in Dr. Varma.

Dr Varma is GREAT! Had a follow up with him after 8 years. He was able to pick up where we left off and provide a good path for my follow up. Separately, I am always impressed with the flow of the office. It is extremely efficient, very clean, and the office support is friendly and helpful and helped to make the visit easy and enjoyable.

Extremely dissatisfied with appointment scheduling. We consistently have to wait 1 hour before being led to an examination room. And then another 15 to 20 minutes before setting the doctor. This is not only inconsiderate but also painful for a patent recovering from spinal surgery. You can do better than this.

Patient, attentive and confident. Finally, a doctor's visit that didn't feel rushed. Dr. Varma takes his time, listens and gives thoughtful feedback. I am exploring non-surgical options and he was more than willing to help with that and did not push me towards surgery. If I were to go the surgical route there is no doubt he is the best for the job.

Dr Varma is a rare find in a Neurosurgeon. His reputation as a surgeon is top notched. His desire to treat his patients with respect and compassion is makes a remarkable combination with his surgical skills. He is also an attentive listener, which is key to successful treatments and outcome. I consider myself fortunate to have been referred to him.

Dr. Varma is an excellent doctor and person. In a few minutes, he was able to diagnose a previously mis-diagnosed condition that had worsened over several months. After testing, he clearly explained my new condition with a range of options for treatment. He has a good sense of humor and strives to understand his patients' needs. I totally trust his abilities as a doctor and surgeon and am grateful to be under his care.
