Great experience. I highly recommend. The only suggestion I have is to skip the additional charge excursions. We did 4 and 3 of the 4 fell way below expectations and hype. Save your money and pick restaurants in town.

We joined the Viking Einar for a week in the Rhine over Christmas 2023. The Company and crew ensured it was a voyage to remember. Nothing was to much trouble, the Programme Director Emilie was a star, arranging an action packed itinary even when circumstances beyond the Company's control arose. The professionalism of the Captain, his crew and guides were second to none.

When we booked our European Grand Tour we did so late so we had no options on the room. We were on the bottom floor. They definitely seem to have a tear system where they treat people based on how much they spent. Other than that my wife and I had a great time

Terrific location. After check-in, we walked into the city to spend the day prior to leaving at night. So close to it all!

This is a great spot for starting a Rhine river cruise. They offer a quick city tour the day you board, so you can get a flavor of the city. Also, there is a small grocery store nearby in the train station in case you want to bring a few things on board.

My wife and I just finished a Grand European River Cruise at Amsterdam. Viking's bus to the airport dropped our group of 70+ year old seniors off about three quarters of a mile from the departure terminal. Dragging our suitcases behind us, my partially disabled wife caught her foot on a curb while crossing one of streets and fell heavily. On blood thinners, her blood soaked through her shirt at the elbow and her knee became very swollen. Our Viking guide took one of her suitcases and another passenger took the other and she trudged on the rest of the way in pain. As we passed into the Schiphol departure area, we saw numerous other passenger busses dropping off their passengers right there. Viking doesn't do this. Our Viking cruise was stellar but fell far short at the crucial last step, dropping our review from five stars to one.

Messed us round by changing dates without letting us or our travel agent know. But the river cruise was just wonderful, staff, good accommodation were all perfect

Just finished my very 1st Viking river cruise from Basel to Amsterdam (Njord 10/3-10/10) and it was NOT PLEASANT. The boat was not as glamorous as the commercials and ads show. Our room 115 had very strong swear and solid waste smell for three days and informed this unpleasant situation to the staff but there was no sense of urgency to remedy. I vomited twice and spent two nights without much sleep with nausea and headache. Room was otherwise clean and well stocked, food was mostly good but nothing exciting. Shore excursions were good but not much onboard activities while docked for extended hours. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall booking experience was great but the real ON BOARD EXPERIENCE LACKED THE WOW FACTOR.
