"At first glance, Denmark’s Lindholm Høje seems to simply be a green field covered in an array of small boulders, but the deliberate formations that emerge to those who look closely, reveal a Viking graveyard just beneath the surface. Dating between 400 and 1000, the burial ground was established by Nordic Vikings. The graveyard rests on the top of a hill overlooking what is now the city of Aalborg, but in the time of its creation was likely just a wide-open, scenic vista. Some of the 700 graves on the site are marked with simple stones, while others are demarcated by a pattern of boulders. Men would be buried beneath rocks formed into an ovular shape with pointy ends like the outline of a longboat, while women were buried under softer, rounder shapes. Large funeral pyres would be built above ground and burned to honor the deceased. The closer you get to the top of the hill, the older the graves get, as they were buried in a cascade radiating away from the top." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Excellent museum with English/German/French translation. Not for all exhibits though. Possibly the best I've seen for stone age - bronze age - iron age and into early medieval/viking age. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.

One of the most interesting Viking heritage sites I have seen. It has a museum, graveyard, village and field (ruins/outlines). It may look like piles and scattered rocks but is much more interesting than so. The shapes and sizes have different meaning. The museum has a lot of different archaeological artefacts and exebition from the Iron age to the middle ages.

Awesome place to learn about the people that lived in the area 1500 years ago. Great artifacts. The grave yard is incredible. The crows living in the surrounding trees and the sound they make is spine chilling as if they are guarding the gates of Valhalla. Highly recommend.

It's a great place, but I didn't go in due to time. Ill be back in May and look at the history. Cost is around 35DK. I believe. Nice area with good views.

An interesting museum to visit if you want to get a better understanding of the life of people living in this area thousands of years ago. Small but very informative. The graveyard outside of museum is a must see as well. The staff were nice and helpful. Cute souvenirs can be bought here. 👍

Museum (inside) plus walk around in the field among the graves and old Viking villages. Well worth a visit. Not quite as stunning as some other famous Viking sites in Scandinavia. Hard to read signs and descriptions in the museum due to their placement and gloomy light condition.

The museum is relatively well done. That is to say for its size. It's visually appealing and offers interesting information about both the area right next to it, as well as the Limfjorden area more generally.
