Vikos Gorge

Incredible hidden gem hike. I recommend doing it in November when there is fall foliage and almost no one on the trail. It’s a long hike - 8.3 miles if you do the entire hike from Monodendri to Vikos - but beware it takes much longer than usual because of the very rocky/bouldery terrain at the bottom of the gorge and the fairly steep canyon.

It is said to be in Guiness book of records as the deepest in the world, taking into account its width.It is spectacular.

Beautiful scenic road up to the lookout spot then a short walk to view this amazing Gorge! It's definitely worth the visit if you are in the area.

If you want to see the gorge from the inside, it takes about 1.5 hours each way from Monodendri until you're really in the gorge, so you might as well do the entire 6 hours hike to Vikos village. Very steep decent to the gorge. It's beautiful both from inside and from the viewpoints

The Vikos Gorge is listed as the world's "deepest relative to its width" gorge by the Guinness Book of Records.

This is an amazing place! The views from the secret viewing point above the gorge are outstanding. An easy walk from the road past Monodendri and through the Stone Forest.

We spent 3 days in this magnificent region. We could easily stay a week. You must recognize that you should drive not more then 35 km/h

Beautiful Canyon (Gorge) located in a remote locations in Northern Greece! Vikos Gorge is a majestic sight on earth. It’s all nature and wild animals. There are not many tourists because the hikes are hard. The views and the hikes are spectacular. Do not get lost because it's not easy for anyone to find you, but navigating it's easier than you think.
