We visited Villa Adentro in the Old Town, and it was a truly charming and historical restaurant. The atmosphere is very cozy and makes you feel like you’ve stepped back into the 15th century.
We ordered several traditional dishes inspired by the local area, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We had the Portuguese rib-eye steak, topped with eggs and served with sliced potatoes. The steak was cooked in the oven rather than on the grill, exactly as requested—very juicy, tender, and full of flavor.
I ordered the fish with spinach, which was cooked perfectly. It was topped with spinach and served with boiled baby potatoes. This combination was new to me, but it worked beautifully and tasted excellent. We also tried the vegetable cataplana, a traditional Portuguese dish. Although I’m not vegetarian, I really loved the taste and flavors.
Finally, I tried the octopus with fresh fruit. It was delicious, well cooked, very tender, and had no smell at all—just fresh and perfectly prepared.
Overall, a wonderful dining experience with authentic food, great quality, and a unique historical atmosphere. Highly recommended.
