I had lunch here, ordered cauliflower soup, octopus in fruit sauce and puff pastry with goat cheese and fig. Cauliflower soup was one of the best soups I’ve ever had. I never imagined such a boring vegetable like cauliflower can be turned into such a flavorful dish. Octopus was fresh but nothing special, the star of this dish was the fruit-berry sauce. I’d eat it with literally anything: salads, soups, desserts. Puff pastry was very messy to eat but it was perfect as a dessert. It was a bit too sweet for me because it had sweetness both from fig and honey so I washed it down with an espresso. Overall, the food here is to die for, it is really amazing. The only thing that I didn’t like was the waiter who was quite condescending towards me. He was very polite and nice towards other guests though which is why I noticed the difference in attitude. Other than that little thing, I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

The service was amazing. The owner was so welcoming and helped me to take a few nice pic with food 💖 Food was to die for. The octopus was fresh and flavourful, it’s the best I’ve ever had. The owner picked the wine for me which matched perfectly with my octopus and prawn curry rice (and also olives too!). I enjoyed each bite! I’m definitely coming back to try his other recommendations

Lovely staff, super foods. The goat cheese and fig puff pastrt was amazing. The building is like a museum. Both waitresses were very nice!

Excellent looong lunch at @vilaadentro.faro. Fabulous service (thanks Luis) and such delicious food!! I had the gluten-free, vegan “traditional” cataplana dish. And yes, I ate the whole thing! Hubby really enjoyed his delicious grilled fish. Beautiful city, lots to see! 📸🇵🇹☀️

Lovely meal in the old town, with well presented local dishes, fresh seafood, and polite service. Reasonably priced. Also, they have a historic tunnel in here where most others collapsed in prior earthquakes!

Waiting to collect someone from Faro airport so went into Faro Old Town area near the marina. Restaurant looked really good with old building with outside seating and huge umbrellas. Despite (?) being in a touristy area, the food was excellent and not too pricey. We had a cataplana (Portuguese fish soup/stew) which was outstandingly good as I hope you can see from the photo!

Must visit if you want to try Cataplana, the traditional fish stew from Algarve.

Yelp
This was a great restaurant we stumbled upon when exploring Old Town Faro. The salmon and pomegranate salad was the perfect dish for a lighter lunch - though still quite filling as they give you a decent amount of salmon. It was lovely to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance of being surrounded by the architecture, cobblestones, and even had someone stop by the play the guitar. The service was a bit slow but that has been our experience at most restaurants here so I didn't take down any stars for that. It seems to be connected to staff shortage.

Yelp
Please, save your money and more importantly your time and temper! We are super easy going people. We went to lunch on Sept 9, 2024. We waited no less than 25 minutes to be acknowledged and brought menus. The older gentleman was exasperated, perhaps the owner, and the only one taking orders on an outdoor patio. We waited another 15 minutes for them to come back and take our drink and food menu choices. 15 minutes later, everything came. We are mostly mad at ourselves for not leaving. It took 15 minutes to get the bill. When we were there another table of 4, I believe they were French, left because they too were ignored.!!! It nearly ruined our day. There are SO MANY GREAT restaurants and the hospitality is like no other. If I could give it zero stars I would!

Yelp
Stopped head for some delicious ice cream. Flavors is never had before like fig, custard and pineapple mint. The owner was super courteous and gave us a lovely tour of his restaurant that dates over 1000 years.
