Vila Lido

A very nice villa, in a quiet area, with a nice small garden overlooking the amazing Praia da Rocha with a stunning ocean view.|A very good Breakfast is served by very kind personnel on the terrace outside or inside in the nice dining room.|Rooms with ocean view are big and well decorated. One has a nice small terrace with ocean view. |The Praia da Rocha beach is just few steps down.||What else? |Not to miss if you like historical, true accommodation and prefer it against the big anonymous 3-4 stars hotels.

Vila Lido is in one of the loveliest spots on Praia da Rocha, well located for the town and marina and beaches. It's spotlessly clean, with very friendly staff and has lovely small manicured garden to relax/overlook. The breakfast is amazing - three courses and freshly baked breads and pastries. The breakfast is enjoyed in the sea-view terrace. We stayed in Room 11 which has a gorgeous little terrace to itself and the room was large with a large ensuite bathroom. Decor is traditional and functional but the beauty of this hotel/B&B is in its traditional service and pretty easthetic - the building is whitewashed with blue shutters. Staff are really helpful and can point you in the direction of restaurants and sights close by. Restaurants we love include W (1 minute walk away) which has great wines and tapas, La Dolce Vita for easy family Italian dining, Safari restaurant in the middle of the stretch of Praia Da Rocha town, which does fabulous seafood with a twist. Ensure you go to the marina to get the boat taxi across to Ferragudo and its beaches as these are beautiful as well. There are lots of rather large, towering hotels in PdaR but Vila Lido is such a lovely change and in a quieter part of the town. We will never stay anywhere else!

Loved this place. Situated at the quieter end of Praia da Rocha it is very relaxing. Had a room overlooking the beach which is amazing. Room was very clean and bed and pillows really comfy. Didn't stay for breakfast so can't comment on that but will definitely stay there again when we next visit. Only negative was no tea or coffee making facilities but this is quite common in Europe

This beautiful old guest house is located on the eastern point overlooking the beach and the old fort in Praia da Rocha. Immaculately clean, well furnished, very comfortable and well-sized for two people. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable about local sites and very helpful.

My husband and I have just returned from a 4 night stay in Vila Lido. It is the most quaint, beautiful, homely and welcoming place we have ever stayed together.|Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Nadia who kindly offered us a soft drink on the house while we filled in paper work in the beautiful hallway. She then showed us to our room where we were greeted by the most AMAZING view to the beach and sea from the triple set of double opening windows. The room was absolutely devine. Huge bed, which was so comfortable. There was a great wardrobe with extra blankets and a safe inside. We had coffee & tea making facilities and a mini bar and a beautiful old fashioned bathroom with a fabulous bath/shower. We were provided with lovely large fluffy bath towels as well as 2 beach towels which was a great bonus as we hadn't packed any! The air conditioning was brilliant also.|The breakfast in Vila Lido was one of our holiday highlights. It was the most delicious and well presented breakfast we have ever had at an accommodation. From the beautifully prepared fresh fruit and yoghurt to start, with a basket of delicious freshly baked bread and a selection of marmalades and jams, we were in heaven. Then, the scrambled eggs came and they were just devine. Breakfast was served on a gorgeous terrace where you can people watch and listen to the waves, while watching the pretty birds come to beg for some crumbs!! You could also eat in the beautiful dining room.|Francisco was the most welcoming, warm and kind host. He made us feel like we were the only guests, giving us tips and advice on local walks and beaches.|Vila lido is in the most perfect location. 5 minute walk to the right of the villa is the "strip" of Praia da Rocha- full of bars, shops, restaurants. It was insanely busy when we were there and literally had to walk at a snails pace through the crowds. 5 minutes to the left, through the castle wall and down the steps was the amazing marina. Much more chilled, lovely restaurants and bars to relax in the evenings.|Vila Lido was the perfect place for a couples break away, and I hope to be back there soon. I could not recommend it highly enough. An absolute gem in the most beautiful areas of the Algarve.

Excellent location right across the road is the beach. View from room was amazing. Room was very big and clean. Staff were great. Nothing was too much trouble.||Breakfast was ok, but we did ask for scramble eggs on toast and it was great.

Without taking anything away from large hotels, many of which are excellent, Vila Lido offers something completely different. For to stay here is to step back in time in the best possible sense; a retreat from the frenzy of modern living; an opportunity to sample gracious hospitality at its very best. All is prepared for each guest with maximum thought, care and consideration given to their well being; from the restful rooms, tranquil atmosphere inside the vila where original features have not been sacrificed at the price of modernity, to the restful, well maintained garden outside. Breakfast too is an experience, no canteen stampede of the masses here; delight, taste (literally and metaphorically) with time to savour and appreciate all that is offered. Each guest is welcomed with gentleness, graciousness and friendliness. A stay here is memorable; one recalled with pleasure.

My wife and I have just returned from the Algarve and we stayed 1 night at the Vila Lido ||We absolutely loved this place the manager and the staff were so friendly we were greeted with a beer and made to feel at home straight away. The House is right next to the beach with the harbour just behind it our room had a large side balcolny that had views of both. Breakfast was lovely in the morning and I wish we could have stayed longer we will definatley go back. Thank you to everyone at Vila Lid
