Hotel Vila Selvagem (Fortim, Ceará) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Not all Brazilian beaches were created equal, which stands to reason — it’s one of the longest coastlines in the world. But lots of locals say the best ones are in the northeast. That’s where you’ll find Hotel Vila Selvagem, an elegant but down-to-earth boutique hotel in the fishing village of Pontal de Maceió." - Tablet Hotels

Amazing hotel in so many ways. |The location, the food from the french chef, the delicious breakfast, the service, the 4 padel courts next door, the almost empty beach in front where we were wingfoiling everyday at high tide, the privacy of the large bungalow, the massage at the spa… we stayed two weeks, loved it, and miss it.

Our five days stay at Pontal de Maceió Beach (Fortim, Ceará) turned out to be unforgettable, due to our stay at Hotel Vila Selvagem. The facilities, the bedroom, the restaurant with a broad view of the beach, the breakfast served directly at the table (with a superb croissant) and, above all, the kindness and hospitality of the personnel, made all the difference. Hotel Vila Selvagem is a pearl at the beautiful coast of Ceará. Not to be missed!

Great location. The family room ocean view is a very comfortable and spacious one with a balcony with sea view. You are literally in front of the sand. |Food is good, services are great. Two pools and the beach is like a private beach and extremely beautiful.

Excellent! The place is magical, staff was absolutely amazing. One of the best and most comfortable hotels I have ever stayed in my life!||Breakfast was incredible, really fresh and delicious food and the amount of care received by each member of staff was impressive.

We wanted to eat at the beachside restaurant. The receptionist said we couldn't enter without shirts. After getting shirts, we entered, only to find that we couldn't order food to eat on the beach without a reservation. Walk-ins aren't permitted on the beach.

Great hotel in a beautiful location !|This hotel is a gem on the coast of Ceará to the east of Fortaleza.|It is about a two hour drive from Fortaleza airport along well paved roads. |I stayed for a week in a garden bungalow with my daughter and we had a very relaxing time.|The property is well maintained and the garden, pools and decorations are beautifully designed.|The beach is a relatively clean (8/10) beach with calm water. Occasionally plastic bottles washed up and there was quite a bit of seaweed but generally it was clean.|Our room was spacious with a large king size bed and a single bed for my daughter. A small outside sitting area was great. |The air conditioning worked well but the strong blue light disturbed me a bit at night.|One day the generator was on at the back of the hotel which was quite noisy but it only lasted for a few hours.|Service from staff was impeccable and I particularly want to thank Barbara and Suziana and Julia and Eli who worked in the restaurant and on the beach. All excellent. |My only disappointment on one day was the food because one night we ordered food that was sent back twice (uncooked potatoes then inedible steak) but generally it was good. The hotel apologised for the bad experience (Aline the Général Manager came to talk to me and offered us a free massage as an apology). The chef sent me a WhatsApp after returning home, also apologising.|Breakfast is served a la Carte (introduced during the pandemic) and personally I prefer a buffet style where you don’t have to continually ask for things. But quality and variety of breakfast food was good.||To be truly excellent I feel this hotel could go the extra mile and do a little more. It is a hotel that is top rating on Relais de Charme but I think it is lacking a few extra touches. One example could be to offer a welcome drink. Another example could be to offer some bottled water and a small snack for the car ride back to Fortaleza for departing guests. Another example could be to improve the range of bathroom cosmetics. Some parts of the hotel are to be renovated (the restaurant seating looks old and is not so comfortable) and the beach chairs are comfortable but not the best in the world. Another person working at the beach would also be useful as even though Eli did excellent work, he was sometimes overwhelmed when the hotel was full during Carnival.||In spite of this I still give a rating of 5 stars for this review due to the kindness and excellent service from all the staff.

We stayed at Vila Selvagem in 2014 and now again 10 years later in July 2024. Both stays were "priceless" from the moment we arrived to getting into the taxi ride back to the airport. The staff, rooms, views, food, services are 5 star in every regard.

The hotel is OVERPRICED! The management treats the guests like we are doing them a favor. The room was also not cleaned enough … ants on the counter, stinky bathrooms. DONT EXPECT PEACE AND TRANQUILITY. We went there for a couple days and around 5:00-5:45am we woke up with a heavy machinery in front of our room(chalet). We complained to management and they said nothing they can do about it. Next day the same thing happened and we complained AGAIN and one more time they didn’t do anything. We also noticed the beach in front of the hotel had several empty plastic bottles, piece of plastic, even pieces of broken glass just helping killing our sea creatures. TERRIBLE and VERY SAD.
