It’s a small airport with all the basic amenities a traveler needs - cafe, bathrooms ; even has some aircon to help against the heat ; staff friendly too

No real issue. The waiting area to go on the plane had no ac nor any ventilation. Bathrooms were clean. You can actually bring your water through security, you just can't bring it on the plane. Thankful I asked cause the heat from the waiting room was almost unbearable. There was no customs or immigration here. After checking in (no need to online with LAM as the system doesn't accept it) it's just to wait until about an hour before your flight then go into the boarding area.

A very small regional airport, I have only visited once as we were forced to land in an emergency. Tarmac is old, many holes. There's hardly anything open inside (restaurants). One would only visit if one has to.

Its a small airport and bit new airport and better than pemba overall it is very nice, clean one. Food corner I'd also nice inside and outside as well

Getting the landing visa was such a mess. Nothing was sign posted and then their one camera broke. We waited nearly an hour for the system to get back up running. Get your visa before you leave!

This airport is located in a beautiful part of a stunning country. That makes it even more disappointing that you have to use this excuse for an airport as a point of entry. Be prepared to pay through the nose for a visa on arrival - bring extra extra extra USD (even if you got approved online), take hand luggage only (if possible), pray.
