Villa Alegria is beautiful with beach-white couches and chairs and lots of wood, artisanal||Light fixtures and African and Brazilian artefacts , all put together with casual elegance. Our suite on the top floor at the back of the villa was huge. The Queen bed was equipped with a well-designed wood headboard which, on the other side facing the wall, held shelving for clothes as well as a small safe (large enough for a tablet but not for a laptop). On top of the headboard, next to 2 tall, graceful lamps, were two 220 volt European/Brazilian style power outlets for which an adaptor is required. An adaptor is provided in case you need it. When using the outlets, there is a switch right beside them to activate them. The walls behind the headboard on each side hold rods and hangars as well as an additional shelf. On one side, below the shelf is a regularly replenished minibar with various soft drinks, water and beer. The suite also has a seating area, a desk and chair, a wak-in shower with convenient hooks for wet bathing suits, two sinks with lots of counter and shelving space, a separate toillet closet.||Adjacent to the sinks and leaning against a wall is an aesthetically pleasing wood ladder for hanging damp towels or even some wash done by hand. Note that the villa does offer a laundry service through an outside contractor whom you pay directly upon receipt. We sent out a very large laundry and it was delivered at the time promised and at very reasonable cost.||The suite had two balconies; the side balcony had the better view. Unfortunately, there was only 1 hammock and no chair so we had to keep moving the desk chair out to the balcony. I would suggest either another hammock or a chair.||Maid service, though later in the day ( as she followed a location-related sequence), was excellent. Attention is paid to frequent yet discrete cleaning throughout the villa and the adjacent La Villa everyday due to the constant presence of sand and wind and villa guests' feet.||Speaking of guests, the villa's clientele may include different nationalities including Europeans and North Americans. Since August is the French holiday month, the clientele was predominantly French. (Since the owner is also French, the villa information is also in French in addition to Portuguese and English.). This also meant that there were a lot of children. Fortunately, for the most part, they were well behaved but after a week, it became tiring. For a family, this would be ideal. That said, my partner and I both speak French and we found the guests very nice .||The owner, who is also French as is her husband, chatted with us every day and just made us feel so welcomed. ||The food is good and the menu provides a good variety of meals. However, as usual, some dishes are better than others and be forewarned that portions are HUGE. Service was very slow and we wondered at times if some guests had arranged a meal for a preset time as they received their food much sooner. The seating area beside the bar tends to have a lot of flies. Fly traps or some type of solution I think, would be advise able as this bothered many guests. We ate at the restaurant most of the time; we did go into the village to eat a couple of times. I would suggest arming yourself with a list of good restaurants as I suspect there are quite a few mediocre ones.||The main pool can be slippery getting in and out , and of course was well-used by all the children. Thankfully, there was a small pool downstairs from our suite in a quiet area where ithe risk of injury was much less likely. The villa had several quiet seating areas.||||A final note regarding services offered by the hotel: the hotel contacts independent suppliers so you must pay them directly in cash upon delivery||We did two beach buggy excursions: one to Tatajuba- a must and the second one to the two Lagoons Paradaiso and Azulejo. We liked Azul very much and if we had stayed longer, we would have returned to spend the day at that Lagoon. There are restaurants on site at the lagoons but I don't know if any or all of them take credit cards,||||We also arranged massages with Paula and we both agreed that they were the best we have ever had, She does the massages in a curtained area near the pool, closing the curtains and playing calming music.||||I would perhaps avoid national holiday months such as August for the French due to the large number of children but in the end, Jericoacoara was such a beautiful experience and our stay at Villa Alegria enhanced that experience. Only a few minutes walk into the village, the villa makes you feel as if you're much farther away.||||||Note: wifi was slow at times
