Villa Alice

Stress and arrogance! Noise and no swimming pool. People looking into your room. Room different than ordered. And more issues. Horror. I never experienced such hostile and un-human behaviour like here - extremely arrogant and passive-aggresive owner. I only read about such people in books. Although other people from the serivce are very kind, everything goes via the owner and she ignores agreements made with them. Also, I got a different, much worse room than ordered but this was not the biggest issue and I did not complain about it. The owner went ballistic cause I kindly asked for...a boiled water or a kettle and I did not accept the rude way in which I was informed that they do not provide it ("read again" referring to an email - sent two weeks after I made the reservation - where they stated only that the kitchen use is paid. They also refused to tell me how much when I asked). Vila doesn't have many of facilities they declare starting with closets in rooms - I had to keep my clothes in a suitcase, no coffee house and finally no actual swimming pool - there are only two jacuzzis, one of them big so kids could play in it but no swimming possible. Not to mention I got no invoice or confirmation of the payment as I was ordered (not asked!) to leave the premise immediately after checkout. Luckily I booked only one night and moved to a much better place: not so noisy, cheaper & closer to the center for the rest of the stay. 80EUR during high season here is too much, even if not the owner's scandalic behaviour.

Beautiful room with view of mountains. Great value. Very kind owner! We booked very last minute and everything was sorted by the time we arrived. Host contactable easily via booking.com. Good location with parking. Very clean and comfortable!

Great location & a close walk to the lake. We had a fantastic room with a balcony & seating area to the front & rear of the room.|There is also free parking on site. (Which although not guaranteed, due to only 6 spaces.) Which in Bled is a real bonus.|The restaurants shops & bars are c. less than 10mins tea walk away. & there’s a great bakery just over the road for breakfast croissants.|There is also a communal fridge & cooking facilities if you’d like to use them.

I’m surprised at the number of negative reviews on here, as overall my husband and I enjoyed our stay at Vila Alice. The gentleman who checked us in was friendly, if a little too thorough explaining about how every light switch in the property worked! We found the (upgraded) room to be clean and tidy, and it was a nice space to use for our three night stay.|Our small gripes were no kettle in the room and there was no one around most of the time to ask any questions or get anything we may need, like an ironing board. Otherwise a very pleasant stay and would recommend to friends.

Vila Alice is a beautiful and well appointed house in a perfect location in Bled. It’s a short walk to the lake and restaurant/cafes. The common rooms of the house are beautiful and are filled with natural light. Our room was delightful and the L’Occitane shampoo and conditioner were wonderful. The house does not provide food. It has a well appointed kitchen but somewhat oddly asks that you not use the stove or oven. Also, they have a high end espresso machine but don’t allow you to use it. Apparently, they’ll make you drinks for a fee, but we never saw staff there to assist. Nevertheless, there is a cafe about a block from the house with excellent coffee at great prices. We certainly would stay here again on a return trip to Bled.

Owner is extremely rude . A problem through bookings with regards to payment leading to her canceling our reservation without any notice leaving us with no accommodation within a week of our scheduled arrival. When asked to help me after updating the payment details she decided to say that this is my problem and nothing to do with her. Very rude.

We were told that Vila Alice has a great reputation. Maybe when it was used to temporarily house patients who were having dental work done by the original owner. The current owner has no idea what the hospitality industry and polite, welcoming behavior is all about.|| We arrived to an empty house. After calling a number, someone finally arrived to check us in. Before we went upstairs to our hot room, we were told that we can use the dishes in the kitchen but cannot cook or use the bar or coffee equipment in the kitchen. We were instructed to go down the street in the morning after 7 to the bar, next to the bakery, where they make coffee. The person who checked us in told us that the hot tub doesn't work. The balcony for our room looks over the parking lot and the main street coming into town. No idea where the lake was. AC finally began to work. We found another hotel that day which had normal guest services and a beautiful view of Lake Bled. The next morning as we were about to check out, a lady was talking on her phone and putting dishes away in the kitchen . Did not speak to us or interact. As we checked out, I asked the lady who she was. She said she was the owner. I have never been treated so indifferently by a hotel owner or hostess before. Don't stay in this place if you are looking for a comfortable room with a view and friendly staff.

Reading the mixed reviews here I am astounded that people had a bad experience here, this is the opposite from our experience. The house is beautifully presented and quiet. The staff we encountered were most helpful, friendly and polite. The location of the vila is perfect and whilst there is no breakfast, you know this when you book!! I would return here in a heartbeat. The room was spacious and well decorated with loccitaine toiletries.|
