This Exclusive Tuscan Villa in Italy's Chianti Wine Region Embodies La Dolce Vita - Hotels Above Par - Boutique Hotels & Travel

"Set in the heart of Chianti, this elegantly restored 16th-century stone farmhouse sits on a three-acre estate and was lovingly converted by California-based attorney Christian Scali and screenwriter Stephen Lewis; its name was inspired by the owners’ ancestral village and the Italian idea of “to live with passion,” a sentiment they encourage guests to embrace. The property comprises two buildings with eight ensuite guest rooms (plus an office suite that can become a ninth) and grand communal areas—an art-filled living room with a traditional fireplace, a dining room seating 18, and a reclaimed antique Parisian bar—meticulously curated by the owners. The main villa preserves rustic architectural details like exposed stone walls, wood beams, vintage armoires, and terracotta floors while offering contemporary comforts such as deluxe king beds, plush duvets, and marble-slabbed rain showers; the converted barn adds two rooms with modern Tuscan farmhouse styling, white-washed beams, shag rugs, and large sunlit windows, and even features reclaimed hardwood from an Indian schoolhouse with hand-carved sketches. Culinary offerings highlight Italy and the region: mornings begin with a buffet of freshly baked pastries, meats and cheeses, and eggs from the on-site chicken coop, while dinners can be private chef–prepared al fresco—ranging from wood-fired pizza from the outdoor oven to multi-course Tuscan menus (think beef braised 12 hours in Chianti wine with sautéed black cabbage). Outdoors the property is memorable for a saltwater infinity-edge pool lined with cypress trees that overlooks rolling vineyards, plus a private spa with a jacuzzi, dry sauna, sensory shower, and Turkish steam bath. With five-star service and warm hosts—including Villa Manager Francesco and the owners—the property feels like a high-design private home in the Tuscan countryside, sleeps up to 18 guests, and is offered as a full-villa rental (rates from 6,435 EUR/night, five-night minimum) with breakfast and airport transfer included."

If you think of the best adjectives to describe the most beautiful villa with the best staff, it still wouldn’t do this place justice . We had the most incredible time at Villa Ardore. From Francesco planning everything for us and being thetr to greet us ,Salvatore and his beautiful breakfasts, to Roberto and Leonardo preparing and making the best evenings and best dinners in all of Tuscany! We felt like part of the family . We were 15 people, 5 with gluten allergies and one vegetarian, and Roberto crafted us the most gourmet meals. We are so sad to leave, and can’t wait to come back! Thank you for sharing this piece of heaven with us!!!!

I was planning to propose in September 2025 and have been shopping around for the perfect spot for about a year. Villa Ardore landed in my lap through word of mouth and my gut said to just go for it. We went with the premier package in Late August early September and I’m so happy with my decision to stay here because… I had multiple surprises planned, bands hired and unpredictable weather plus a surprise proposal that I wanted executed flawlessly and with the help of Christian (the owner) Jare (events coordinator) and Francheco (the onsite manager) things couldn’t have gone more smoothly. Every single one took the energy to deal with my obsession to make this moment as magical as possible and it to be honest it was so much more perfect than I could’ve ever expected. And that’s saying a lot coming from someone as anal-retentive as myself. It made me happy to see other things available like mood lighting for the evenings in every corner, a fire pit to enjoy at sunset, luxurious furnishings to relax on and get away but also plenty of communal areas for those feeling chatty. The pantry and fridge were FULLY stocked with anything we ever needed and we all felt so at ease and were able to maximize our time together and recharge simultaneously. You get ONE SHOT at making your proposal/wedding/surprise even kick ass. So if you want to maximise your chances to get it right, so do not hesitate to stay at Villa Ardore.

My family stayed at Villa Ardore in September 2025. The villa was gorgeous. The views were more than I could ever wanted. It was peaceful and beautiful. Our hosts Fransceco and Max were fun and made sure our stay was spectacular. I stayed in the master bedroom off the Roman Spa. It was so comfortable and just steps away from the villa. We enjoyed a pizza making class and the Tuscan BBQ. Both were fabulous. The pool and bar areas were perfect for our stay. I think a few of us are missing Cosmo, the rooster. It was different collecting eggs from the hens vs buying them at the store. Very fresh and also fun! The grounds are just beautiful. Beautiful sunsets overlooking the vineyards. I have to say it was one of the most relaxing stay after touring the country of Italy. I highly recommend this villa for your stay. Thank you Christian for the hospitality we received.

We recently stayed at Villa Ardore and were absolutely enchanted by the experience. Hosts Stephen and Christian have created a legacy with their heartfelt attention to every detail, offering both relaxation and entertainment in a magical setting. Location and Access: Villa Ardore is perfectly located a short drive from Florence airport, offering a tranquil retreat in the picturesque countryside. The drive offers beautiful scenic views and even a glimpse of the famous Antinori winery. Accommodations and Amenities: The villa itself combines luxury with comfort seamlessly. My room, conveniently situated above the spa, included a mini-fridge and Nespresso machine, making my stay exceptionally comfortable. The villa's amenities, from the beautiful lap pool to the charming onsite chickens, added a unique and homely touch. Activities and Experiences: A highlight of our stay was the range of activities curated by Franchi, the Director of Fun. His charisma and passion for fun enhanced our stay with memorable experiences like wine tastings, pasta classes, and poolside yoga. The evening fireside chats provided cozy moments of engaging conversation. Overall Experience: Our visit was a wonderful mix of leisure and activity, thanks to the exceptional service and warm hospitality. The villa’s stunning location and the thoughtfully crafted itinerary allowed us to fully enjoy and appreciate the beauty of Villa Ardore. Recommendations: I highly recommend Villa Ardore for anyone looking for a comprehensive experience that includes luxury accommodations, diverse activities, and easy access to the best of Tuscany. It’s an ideal choice for those looking to explore local culture and landscapes while enjoying a high standard of service and hospitality.

Villa Ardore was magnificent. Tucked away a short scenic drive away from Florence in the rolling hills of Tuscany, before I even arrived I was blown away by the beauty surrounding the area. You definitely feel like you’re in a movie scene as you arrive down the gates at the Villa. The view of San Gimignano’s towers from the entry was my favorite! My room was spacious, open, and had its own private entrance off the side which I found to be unique, though each room is a very customized experience in itself. I was genuinely blown away by the thought and effort that Chris and Stephen have put into the entire space, especially the dining area outside under a beautiful breezeway overlooking the Tuscan hills and the unbelievable pool with picturesque trees lining the property. The hosts and owners are a wonderful couple who welcomed me and made me feel so comfortable in the space, as well as Francesco who worked at the property and was incredibly friendly and helpful. The property is a renovated home and the work they’ve done is stellar! Will definitely be coming back in the future. 🙏

This was the perfect place to celebrate my 50th birthday! We filled the house with friends and family, all of which kept pinching themselves at how we were surrounded by beauty everywhere. This place was the most beautiful Tuscan villa that looks over the countryside. You can see the Tuscan valley all the way too San Gimignano while having a morning coffee on the terrace (or an appertivo at sunset.) The home had all of our American luxury amenities and was very elegant, yet it felt like a home. So warm, welcoming and cozy. Not like a stuffy hotel, but a place you could truly relax, with all the luxury one would expect. The beds, sheets, and towels were divine. -something I’m picky about, I admit. Because it’s close to a lot of the Tuscan towns, we easily ventured out every day and often went to Florence to shop! The location was great for wine tastings nearby and the decedent wine in the wine room was a delicious selection! I love to cook, so I really enjoyed the kitchen as well! I appreciated the fresh eggs and garden. Thank you to the Villa Ardore team for making my birthday wishes come true! I cannot wait to return! Grazie Mille!

The memories you will make at Villa Ardore will fill you with Tuscan spirit and leave you feeling refreshed and energized. We celebrated a friend’s milestone birthday at Villa Ardore with 16 people and everyone remarked on the Villas luxury accommodations. We had a local chef prepare and amazing meal for the event and everything was perfect. Once arriving at the property you’ll feel the history, love and views of this magical Italian villa tucked away in the Tuscan hillside. The property’s welcoming views of vineyards, Tuscan architecture and layout are simply breathtaking. Our hosts (Christian & Stephen) took us on a property tour with lavish infinity pool complete with a gorgeous covered marble refreshment area. We toured the area to become the spa and the space is so relaxing and welcoming. The fresh herbs grow on the property will enhance any meal made in the villa. The daily fresh eggs will delight many a guest. Each en-suite room boasts individual style, decor & unique views of Tuscany. Our room was in the guest house and we felt the inclusion of the main house while having our own private space. The kitchen is perfect for the home chef or for bringing in a local chef to prepare amazing meals. There are two fabulous dining rooms one inside and one covered outside. There is also a commercial kitchen for large catered events and an authentic wood-fired pizza oven. The wedding space overlooks the Tuscan vineyards while completely private & exquisitely landscaped. Making for memories to last a lifetime. There are quaint towns nearby we visited Castellina in Chianti & San Gimignano both lovely with adorable shops & restaurants. We took the train into Florence for a day of site seeing, shopping and of course more delicious food! The wineries in the area are absolutely fabulous. I’m happy we found Villa Ardore, I can’t wait to go back and have already recommended it to a friend for her upcoming wedding!

Villa Ardore was beyond what we expected. My family and friends just spent a week in the lap of luxury. Francesco met us with open arms and made us feel like family. Salvatore made us the best breakfasts every morning. Chef Roberto prepared our lunch and dinner, along with Leonardo. We all are still talking about his amazing skill as a chef. Each meal was so delicious we hated to finish it. Villa Ardore has amazing views and a great infinity pool that we used daily. I can't say enough about the Villa and staff and I would recommend Villa Ardore to anyone who wants to spend a magical vacation in Tuscany. Thank you Francesco, Roberto, Salvatore and Leonardo for a vacation we will remember forever. The Tobia's
