My husband and I visited beautiful St Lucia for the first time last month to celebrate my 70th birthday. We spent the first eight nights of our trip at VBC, and it was truly everything we had hoped for and more. We were looking for a small, quiet, Lucian owned and operated alternative to the many big all inclusive resorts on the island. What a gem we found! ||Our accommodation, a standard King with sea view, was very clean and comfortable, and just steps from both the pool deck and the beach where we were often alone to enjoy a glass of wine and a romantic sunset. Restaurants and taxis are quite pricey, we found, so we enjoyed many of our meals on our private patio listening to the waves crash on the beach.|The kitchen space in our unit was adequately equipped for preparing breakfasts, sandwiches, and light suppers. (Admittedly, I was a bit wary of using a gas stove and oven, so we kept it simple.) There’s a good take out sushi and stir fry place within walking distance, and supermarkets a short bus or taxi ride away. We enjoyed two of our dinners with our feet in the sand, a stone’s throw from the water, at their little open air restaurant, Coconut. (Adela’s pumpkin soup was definitely a highlight!) ||What impressed us even more than the peaceful beach front location, was the warmth and generosity of both management and staff. Front office, kitchen, housekeeping, drivers, everyone went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. One day we came back from visiting Rodney Bay to find balloons, bubbly and birthday cake in our bedroom! At Villa Beach, we were made to feel like part of the family, and we really enjoyed getting to know such a lovely group of people. We hope to return some day soon…
