Villa Blu Capri (Capri, Amalfi Coast) 4 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It’s a good life, if you can get it. There’s a reason why the island of Capri is such a storied travel destination, at least among those whose tastes lean more toward poolside lounging than all-night clubbing, and the Villa Blu Capri is a perfect illustration. A 19-room hideaway on this famously insular island, it’s an adults-only escape whose modern interiors belie its classic villa exterior." - Tablet Hotels

The positives are that this hotel is very central, staff are pleasant, breakfast was lovely, room clean and reasonably comfortable with free wifi, but while able to open a door to outside really just looking at side wall of building next door so no point. Provided free coffee/ tea if wanted.|However water temperature in shower tepid at best for 2 out of our 3 nights stay. Realise it is October but while day temperature 22° swimming pool quite cold and only offered a drink service at pool on one of the 3 days. |Hotel did not seem that busy so not sure what type of room booking required to have a proper balcony or better view, certainly not suggested nor offered. |Could not rate as 5 star compared to hotels we have used in many other places.

This hotel was a complete disappointment on an otherwise amazing trip. This is not a 5 star hotel. We were checked into our classic room, in the basement we. It smelled of mould and lacked deep cleaning. They spent some time on their screen and made it look like they were doing us a huge favour telling us they could upgrade us for €100 per night bringing our nightly rate to €500. They showed us the room and we accepted. Upon closer look, the bathroom lacked deep cleaning, the tub did not drain and the Jacuzzi jets did not work. They blamed it on a recent power outage, but it’s now apparent that was just an excuse and it hadn’t worked for some time. We all know that Jacuzzi tubs have built in surge protection specifically for that. The pool area was very nice. However, the pool itself was dirty and grimy in all the edges and corners. After reading other reviews here, the whole upgrade thing is a farce, they offered many others a free upgrade after discovering the mouldy smell in the basement rooms. We found current rates for this hotel while we were there that were half of our booked rate. When we addressed our complaints before checkout, we were assured that their admin department would email us a response to our request to refund our upgrade cost. We never heard from them. Beware of this hotel. Read the screenshot reviews attached to support mine.

This is not a 5* hotel by any means. The location is great. Upon arrival in the afternoon our room was not ready. They offered us a small glass of prosecco to appease us. The hotel controls the AC. My husband is taking meds that cause him to be warm especially at night. Nope they turn it off after a certain time. No help offered. The shower water didn’t get hot and the control handle fell off. Answer you have to turn the water on and off. The floor in the bathroom flooded both days. The breakfast was well done. I feel we worked harder than the staff at making the room work.

Felt compelled to right a review after all the negative comments. While this is certainly not a 5 star hotel and you should not stay here if you expect 5 star service and accommodations. Located in the heart of Anacapri and just steps from the taxi and bus stations. Very friendly reception but she did offer us welcome beverages and to sit outside- only to have 3 other staff ask us what we would like to drink. The pool is not well maintained- the tiles were crumbling and we had to seek out towels to use. The room although in need of a face lift was clean, water hot and AC nice and cool. The breakfast has loads of options and very friendly and helpful breakfast attendant.

Beware of false advertisement!! This hotel is no where near the standards of a 5 star hotel and should be fined for advertising such. It is a 3 star hotel at the most. We had a terrible leak in the bathroom that made it almost impossible to use the vanity and had no hot water in the shower during our 3 day stay. We were promised another room and never received it. We discussed these issues with the concierge on duty and asked for a discounted rate but we were told “I am unable to do that” |If you want to pay 5 star prices for a maybe 3 star hotel then waste your money. I would never recommend this hotel and would never go back.

We had booked a room for 2 nights at this 5* hotel. The classic room turned out to be in the basement, but with a window/door out to a tiny terrace. The smell of mold was really bad and we could not stay in that room. To get another room we had to pay 350€ extra per night. Total rip off, as we had already paid 550€ per night.|We asked to talk to the manager, and we also asked to get our money back so we could stay at another hotel. None of these was possible. |The other room was much better, but far from worth the price. It was mold in the shower, but at least the room did not smell of mold.|It pretty much ruined the start of our holiday and we will of course never come back to this hotel or recommend to anybody. |The location is quite good. We did not try the restaurant as we wanted as little as possible to do with the hotel.

Avoid This Hotel – A Complete Scam||We were forced to pay extra to change our first room, which was uninhabitable due to poor ventilation, mold, and a terrible smell. Even in the new room, problems continued — on the last day the bathroom started leaking.||The staff are polite but powerless. Both the “luxury” and “economy” rooms were terrible. No complimentary water is provided, and they charge €7 for a single bottle. It took two days to see the manager, who was aware of all issues but did nothing.||We only expect from a hotel a clean room, a safe place for our baggage, and a clean bed to sleep, so we can enjoy exploring during the day and night. This hotel fails completely. If you want to ruin your Capri visit like we did, BluCapri is the right hotel.

The hotel is a short walk from the Taxi square. The service and staff are friendly. The room is quite small yet well appointed. The pool area was very simple and relaxing, could use a good scrubbing. We did enjoy our stay, perhaps a 4 star experience.
