Villa Borobudur Resort

Absolutely amazing location ,the view of the temple and volcano were just unbelievable. The staff are so so nice and polite and welcoming. We had dinner one evening and it was fabulous and so so inexpensive. The pool was amazing too. I just fell in love with this property. Would definitely stay there again .

The resort is close to Borobudur temple. It takes around 15 mins ride to there, so if you’re planning to see the sunrise there, it’s a very good choice. The hotel provides all the trips and transportation for different spots. We also visited the Merapi volcano. It’s amazing too! The environment of the resort is excellent, surrounded by trees and a forest. I feel so relaxed during the stay there. The food is clean and delicious. We asked the hotel to give less salt and sauce to the food, they can deliver that. The service was impeccable as well. There was smiles on every staff when they talked to you. Overall, I highly recommend this resort.

We took a mid-term break during our travels in Java in this beautiful hotel. The surroundings are so green up on the hills, very relaxing. The staff is amazing and will do everything for you. We loved the afternoon tea, with everyday a delicious surprise. We went swimming in one of the pools early in the morning and afternoons. And in between visited Borobudur temple, the friendly village and Selogriyo temple. The hotel can arrange all your transport and will even pick you up down in the village to bring you back to the hotel. A special mention for the massage ladies! Highly recommended!

Away from the hustle and bustle of yogya. Being in the city can be overwhelming, hence this location is just right, surrounded by nature - birds, clouds and an amazing view. The location is super interesting because the car has to go through so many winds through the village. If U take a morning jeep tour, the jeep will fetch U from the villa with the car top exposed and you can feel the wind in your hair, absorbing the peace from th village and fresh air. They also have a massage, quite expensive but worth it at 450,000 idr per hour. The geckos can be loud at night but that's nature. They have an amazing pool that oversees borobodur and Yogyakarta. The villa door has some ants but I think it's because of the wood? The junior room suite villa roof feels a bit hollow because we can hear the birds jumping and squawking on top of it in the early evening. Food is not fantastic, especially their breakfast. But since they locally produce long beans, try their long beans. It's crunchy and fresh. Their grilled ayam chicken rice is good too. Their sambal, however, is a must try. Fresh, spicy, tangy!At night, you can hear adzan, which is call for prayer, across the whole of Yogyakarta. An amazing and holy experience.

We had the most fantastic experience at Villa Borobudur Resort. The views are incredible, the swimming pools are heavenly and the food is fab. Most importantly, it was the staff who made the real difference - charming, friendly, warm, supportive and the most considerate and thoughtful people. ||A big ‘thank you’ to Emma and Mifta for their help with a small medical issue - they could not have done more to help.||Also, a big shout out to Meli, Anna and Kabul for a wonderful cooking class experience for me and my son - we will never forget it.||And, another ‘thank you’ to Herman for entertaining us on our transfer from Yogyakarta and also for being our guide on our local cycling trip which was one of the highlights of our entire two weeks in Indonesia.||Yes, the hotel’s close proximity to Borobudur is a big draw, but the hotel is an experience in itself.||It is not high luxury - the rooms are simple, yet comfortable - so if you want something fancy, spend $2,000 a night at Amanjiwo which is literally next door to Villa Borobudur Resort.||We absolutely loved Villa Borobudur Resort and will cherish happy memories made at the hotel forever.

Fantastic resort with service taken care of down to the smallest detail. Spacious room and two beautiful pools. Everything is clean and well-maintained. Day trips can easily be arranged through the reception. A special thank you to the lady who accompanied me to the hospital and guided me there. If I could give 6 stars, I would!

Amazing view. Really friendly staff. Nice food at the restaurant. The shuttle drivers were fantastic. Great location near to Borobudar - you can see it from the hotel. Nice swimming pools. ||Downside is that the rooms kept running out of hot water when having a shower which is a bit of a nuisance when showering kids. Also would suggest needs more vegetarian options on the menu if expecting more western tourists.

Not an easy journey getting to the hotel but was worth it in the end. Upon arrival we marvelled at the expanse of the hotel and grounds but once we settled in, we found it lacking in the finer details for a top rated hotel. The room was comfortable, the food ok and the service good. But it could be a whole load better. An enjoyable rather than a memorable stay. Thank you.
