I rarely write reviews for hotels, but I decided to make an exception this time. We overlooked some of the negative feedback for this hotel in favor of the positive reviews and overall rating. That was a mistake. In my 15 years of active traveling, this was one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at. It was only the second hotel we’ve ever wanted to leave immediately, and we even booked another hotel for two nights just to spend less time here. Some issues were simply unacceptable for any hotel, regardless of the price. Below are the details of what was good, bad, and unacceptable.||🟢 Let me start with good things:|* Staff is very friendly|* Reception and restaurant look nice at first glance|* Breakfast is acceptable|* Underground parking is available, though spaces are quite tight|* About a 15-minute walk to the beach, with a decent path|* The beach has a beautiful walking path for many kilometers, long enough for morning or evening runs over 10 km|* Several pillow options are available|* Plenty of space to sit, talk, or even work if needed||🔴 What was bad (for the price)? Maybe it was a great hotel in the past, but it clearly hasn’t been properly maintained for some time.|* Rust is visible everywhere: on stairs, walls, heaters, and even around the swimming pool. Since the hotel is decorated with metal by design, it looks even worse in the ocean climate|* The indoor swimming pool is in poor condition, with algae or mildew visible on the floor. We normally enjoy using hotel pools, but this one was below our standards.|* The pool is heavily chlorinated, and the strong smell spreads throughout the entire hotel. It was noticeable at the reception and on all floors, and even for someone without respiratory issues it was unpleasant to breathe|* Reception seems well maintained, but the floors do not. The carpet on the first floor was a clear sign of poor cleanliness||‼️ What was totally unacceptable (for any hotel, at any price)? We even tried to change the room, but it was useless, as suggested room had same issues.|* Mold on the walls. This was the first time I have ever seen visible mold left untreated in a hotel. It is unhealthy to stay in such conditions.|* Very bad smell in the rooms. There was a constant smell of dampness and mold. Ventilation brought in bad odors as well, and even keeping the balcony open all the time did not help. In the mornings, a terrible sewer smell came from the bathroom and quickly spread throughout the room||Since we booked through Booking, we didn’t try to get a refund. Instead, we booked another hotel for a few nights. Fortunately, we had a car and the flexibility to do so. For the same price, even with same-day booking, there are better options available. I hope you can avoid our mistake.||I am sharing photos of the mold, rust, and swimming pool.
