Villa Chitdara

I have just spent 4 nights here and was very happy with my choice. The staff were lovely. The rooms are very nice. I had a room overlooking the street and the double shutters/windows kept out the noise and light very well. The fridge kept my drinks very cold. The bed was quite firm but I'm finding that seems to be the norm in south-East Asia. The location is very good with many nice places to eat and drink close by. The Mekong is a 2 minute walk away. The monks walk by about 5.30am for their morning alms and this was when the tour groups seemed to be out in force. Some monks come around again about 6.30am and this was when I saw the local people participating.

We were there for two days; the room and the facilities are great. The breakfast in the hotel are nice, a lot of fruit, omelet, jam and butter toast… The last day we had to go to early to the airport so the breakfast was to take away and was even better that the one in the hotel: croissant, jam butter, a banana and two toast. Amazing! That day we had a problem with the car that we booked to go to the airport (they forgot to pick us up) and the lady of the hotel, help us a lot, go to other hotel, tell a guy to pick us up to the airport without any cost. Thanks to that lady we didn’t lost out flight! ☺️

This should be a 5* hotel; everything about it was special. The staff when we arrived had a welcome drink for us, escorted us to, and explained the room. The grounds were spotless, breakfast fantastic, location couldn’t be better: I didn’t expect Laos to be such an incredible experience but Villa Chitdara surely made it memorable.

A charming gem in the heart of town. Very conveniently located, making it easy to visit local attractions, the main food street, and the night market. The rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast—though limited—is satisfying. It includes essentials like eggs, toast, fruit, and a couple of local dishes. While it’s not the lavish spread you might find elsewhere, it’s more than enough to start the day. There’s no pool or gym, but the excellent service more than makes up for it.

Lovely hotel, great location, close to the night market and restaurants along the Mekong River. Very clean room and very nice staff!

This is a pleasant hotel in traditional style, with plenty of local wood flooring, paneling, and furniture. My room was compact but very clean and comfortable.|The location is very good -- on a quiet street close to the Mekong river promenade, and also a few minutes walk from the main shopping and restaurant area. Breakfast was included and was delcious, with plenty of fresh fruit. Recommended.

Good location for visiting local craft and food/general markets and temples. Clean. Comfy beds. Smallish room, but adequate. Good shower. Own balcony. Excellent breakfast. Eggs cooked to order. Fresh fruit bring continuously prepared. Fast service.

Great location, very clean. This is a tidy , extremely well organised place to stay. Every little detail was prrfect
