Villa Cicolina (Montepulciano, Tuscany) 10 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Just down the road from the postcard-perfect medieval town of Montepulciano, Villa Cicolina is a quiet, country-chic villa surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. The aristocratic families that used to summer at the old house left behind a legacy of well-preserved ceiling frescoes, artwork, and period furniture, lending the hotel an old-fashioned air, while today’s owners have endeavored to make the beautifully adorned rooms feel comfortable and lived-in — the sort of boutique hotel where you’d feel comfortable kicking back on a 16th-century loveseat while enjoying a glass of Vino Nobile." - Tablet Hotels

Spent two nights here and will definitely return. What an amazing property. Hard to believe a place with only 16 rooms has so many staff members, and the owners are always wandering around the property, chatting with staff, guest and making sure everything is good. ||While we had to switch rooms during our stay as the same room wasn't available for both nights when we booked, we found beds and pillows in each were the most comfortable of our 2 week trip, with plenty of instant hot water and pressure. Only items for improvement would be amenity kits (Q-tips/nail board/sewing kit) or individual shampoo and body wash instead of a refillable combo shampoo/wash.||The grounds are remarkable, and the views of and from the pool are absolutely amazing. While the water was a little cool for my liking, we truly enjoyed laying in the lounge chairs, reading and relaxing at the end of the day. Fig and prune trees were bursting with ripe fruit that made for great snacks. We enjoyed the outdoor tables for the plentiful breakfast, which included scrambled eggs, fresh breads, yogurts, home made jams and fruit, though surprisingly no figs! ||Staff were friendly and genuinely looking to help and make sure you had a great day. We stored several cases of wine in their cellar upon arrival, and once they saw us at breakfast they retrieved the boxes so they were ready for us when leaving.||Great place, don’t hesitate for a moment!

This place is truly amazing and magical. We had a spacious room that comfortably accommodated our family of two adults and three kids. From the high-quality facilities to the beautiful pool and amazing food, every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our holiday was truly unforgettable.

If you’re looking for classic Tuscan charm, this property answers the call. It’s not the poshest resort I have ever visited but it was the most charming, perfectly suited for a trip to the Italian countryside. The grounds are gorgeous—beautiful gardens everywhere, breathtaking views, serene and cozy nooks to enjoy. The staff is amazing--thank you Raffaella, Vittoria, Francesca, Alijah and Roberto for making all the difference in our positive experience. The breakfast was plentiful, fresh and tasty. We had dinner at the restaurant the night of our arrival—the food was delicious and it was a perfect way to settle into our trip. We also booked the Capanna (private and cozy dinner room) for four to celebrate another couple’s marriage. It was magical and such a memorable evening. The four of us also did the wine tasting tour—I was skeptical to do wine tasting at the villa versus an actual winery but it was a real treat—great wines and the 14th century cellar is worth experiencing. Our room (Senior Suite with Balcony) was rustic and roomy but also very cozy. We had everything we needed, including a beautiful view, small sitting balcony and a soaking tub. Although there’s not a gym onsite, I was able to do a few workouts in the living area, which was a bonus. We spent our last night in the Tree House, which was another incredible memory. If you have a lot of luggage, the storage space is minimal in this room but we made due for just the one night and it was well worth switching rooms for the experience. In all, Villa Cicolina was a great central spot for our trip to southern Tuscany. One important takeaway was we pictured ourselves taking long walks and bike riding around the area but the hotel is off a busy two-lane road and not conducive to walking off or biking off grounds. That was the only disappointment. We’d go back to Villa Cicolina in a heartbeat and highly recommend it.

We booked Villa Cicolina based solely off of the reviews we read and couldn't have been happier. The staff and the atmosphere are absolutely amazing. Along with that the dinner was fantastic as well as the breakfast that they have. ||A few things to note if you are deciding to book but doesn't change the rating of our review.||-The restaurant is closed on Tuesday's so plan accordingly|-If you are planning on staying in the treehouse, please know that there are spiders (a lot) on the patio as well as inside the treehouse. The crickets WILL keep you up all night and you will have to sleep with headphones. Along with that the trackers working on the farm will be up and at it at about 4:30-5:00am in the morning. Lastly, the tub doesn't plug if you plan on taking a nice little jacuzzi bath. ||All of the things for the treehouse should have been common sense for me when I booked, I just didn't think about those things and if going back I would 100% stay here but wouldn't book the treehouse because it was VERY hard to get a good night sleep.||Amazing place and couldn't recommend it more.

My wife and i was impressed on our arrival at the villa. The lady on the reception was very nice and supportive and the garden with the pool looks amazing. We got our room and heared from the first moment a constant sound, with i thought it was from the aircondition and we did not mention this. After our trip to the lovely montepulciano we came back, stopped the aircondition and the sound was still. After a shourt research we realised it was it components what you can see at the video. Of course it was too late and the reception was closed. So we spend a sleepless night with this constant sound. Next morning we talk with the receptionist and we got then a other room on the first foor. This room was nice and in general silent. Because it is an old building you can hear the toilet and walking persons in the building. Overall the view with the pool is amazing. The service was good but with some weak spots. The breakfast was very good with good and tasty products. Overall we will not come any moore to this Place because for this price are too much problems ( room service, technical equitment, weak wifi) what made this stay not not very comfortable for us.

Yelp
My fiance and I chose this hotel for our August 2015 trip to Italy based on TripAdvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. By the way, the correct spelling is "Cicolina." The hotel and its grounds were beautiful! A very romantic setting, it's set up on a hill overlooking beautiful Tuscan scenery. The hotel is about 2 kilometers from town, and a portion of that drive is on a gravel street which isn't the easiest to navigate. You definitely need a car to get to town as well as the surrounding areas. Our suite was large and decorated to suit the surroundings. We did think the furniture in the sitting room was a bit "tired." The restaurant was top-notch - our best meal of the trip, hand's down. We ate there the first night and wish we had tried it a second time. Service is also excellent. Very, very friendly and helpful. The infinity pool is beautiful and unexpected for a quaint property. The pool (paint) probably could use a good refresher. Wi-fi is slow.

Yelp
Villa Cicolina is a fantastic little hotel, event space, and restaurant on the outskirts of Montepulciano in the Tuscany region of Italy. While my friends opted to have their wedding elsewhere, this would have been a beautiful spot to get married. Infinity pool and infinity hot tub looking over the valley. Interesting gardens and paths throughout the grounds. (Just check out the pictures on the website) We ended up doing the rehearsal dinner here and the food was out of this world. The highlights were the lasagna (best lasagna I've ever had) and the chocolate lava cake. Great service and good wine. I'd love to come back here again for a longer stay.

Yelp
This was recommended to us by the place we are staying at, a small agritourism place just up the road. The pasta is homemade and the food is very fresh. We were thrilled with our meals, and the other diners' meals looked just as good. Friendly staff as well.
