My husband and I enjoyed a spectacular dinner at Villa Deevena — and it’s become a can’t-miss stop every time we visit Costa Rica. From the moment you walk in, the friendly, attentive staff make you feel like family, and their hospitality truly elevates the experience. Chef Patrick Jamon prepares every dish with impeccable skill and creativity. His French-inspired cuisine, made with fresh local ingredients, is nothing short of phenomenal — every bite is perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. We always make reservations well in advance, because this place fills up quickly — and for good reason. The ambience is warm and elegant, with an open kitchen that adds an extra layer of connection to the culinary craft happening right in front of you. We’ve been coming to Costa Rica for years and never miss dining here. Whether it’s a special occasion or just an evening out, Villa Deevena always delivers outstanding food, service, and memories. Had the privilege of staying at the Villa Deevena for a week and had a fantastic time. The staff were all extremely kind, and they put in the effort to ensure you are having a pleasant stay, from having the coffee brewed and ready for when you wake up, to having a lunch table ready just in case you decided to have lunch there. Dining at the Deevena was world class, some of the best food I have eaten. I fished with Dean (pesca los pargos) a handful of days and by dinner time, it was prepped and served up in a 5 star dish. The atmosphere was very warm and relaxing, and they had a very impressive cocktail/wine menu. Overall the staff and kitchen truly worked hard to ensure I was having a great dining experience and stay at the hotel, and without a doubt I would happily stay and dine with them again!

Our large group had a truly outstanding dining experience on a trip over the holidays to Costa Rica. Everything we ordered was great and Dean took wonderful care of us the entire time. Highly recommended!!

Quiet, quaint, the staff is beyond lovely. The villas are perfect for a nice beach getaway in a boutique setting. There’s air conditioning in the rooms and the showers that open into an outdoor view yet maintain privacy is amazing. So relaxing. 10 min walk to the beach. The food is the real winner here. From fresh caught fish to chanterelles recently foraged this will be a meal you’ll remember for life. Highly recommend!

Villa Deevena made our Christmas dinner unforgettable! The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holiday, creating such a warm and festive atmosphere. The open kitchen, right next to the covered outdoor dining area, was a highlight—we loved watching the talented chef/owner and his team in action as we enjoyed our meal. The food was absolutely phenomenal, and the service was flawless. The owners were so welcoming and clearly passionate about what they do. This place is a true gem, and we can’t recommend it enough for an amazing dining experience!

One of the top dining establishments I’ve ever been around the world. The quality of the food, the service, and the Attention 2 Detail are as good as any Michelin star restaurant. In fact, if you read the history of the ownership, you will find that they did own Michelin star restaurants in the US. They must do while in Costa Rica.
