Villa del Lago, Lakeside

Just got back from an AMAZING family trip to Queenstown and have to rave about Villa de Lago! 🙌 Absolutely perfect for our family – the 3-bedroom villa gave us tons of space. But the VIEWS... wow! 😍 Waking up to stunning lake and mountain vistas every morning was pure magic. ✨ Plus, it was super convenient, less than a 15-min drive to town for all the action. Highly recommend Villa de Lago for families looking for that perfect Queenstown base! 👍 Staffs are responsive via Booking.com message too.

Three star due to poor service and no staff who can assist in times when needed. From the location and view point I can consider giving 5* but it is really not needed if you intent to go on tour for remarkable’s / coronet peak / million dollar cruise ride you will see the mountain ranges. Rather stay close to city so that you have an easy access to all amenities. This property is situated between airport and city, so if you don’t have any vehicle don’t go for this property or else you will keep booking uber for your essentials. The room we stayed in had light issues, water leakage issue in bathroom issue which never got fixed not even until checkout and fire guard was requested and was provided but on the last day of the stay which made no sense and that too a light weight stuff for formality. Had a one year old baby with us they should have taken it seriously leather than just doing a formality end moment. Everything is third party arrangements here so if you need any sort of service you are spending more and more dollars. Be prepared to spend more dollars apart from the money you will pay for the view which is not really “THE” thing required trust me it’s all hype. If booking a room consider other options too as other property have mountain and lake view at much affordable price with all the amenities and services that one needs whilst on vacation. So make the bookings after reading the amenities and services included and not included when you book rooms in Queenstown. It was our first time to Queenstown. We felt we paid money to villa de Lago only for the view , bed and facility of cooking food. Also, to note you got to clean and throw rubbish on your own so if you are okay to also do household jobs on your vacation then go ahead pay huge sum for the same routine. OR book a proper hotel and get the amenities and services included in the package that one deserves while on vacation taking leave from work to rest. No considerations on late checkout too so wrap up everything on time including throwing garbage. We had a baby us and still no considerations on allowing us to get even an extra 1/2 n hour late checkout. The management should have been considerate but was not the case. Overall, it was a pleasant stay but a tiring one too for my family and myself. Good luck ! Folks enjoy hope the feedback helps and if you choose this property be prepared for the delays, spending more dollars and most importantly hire car and a car seat if you got a child.

How this place can get 5 star reviews is perplexing to me. This was a surprise to us. No way around it. There are zero amenities and no one onsite to help you with luggage down 34 stairs to your villa. If you have disabilities, this not the place for you. No one to tidy up your unit because there are no services. There is a W/D so you can wash your own towels. There is a kitchen but you need food to prep. With no car and no nearby grocery to walk to, get ready for no meals. No safe to secure valuables. This is a rather isolating area. You have to have a car. And if you love to watch a planes taking off, you are in luck. The departure runway allows you to get close enough that you just might be able to ready the tail number. Never again here.

We stayed here for 2 weeks and just moved out. This was a great decision! The view was wonderful and it was well appointed and quiet. Bed was comfortable. The only thing they should fix is the squeaky bathroom door hinge and door handle. I would be happy to stay there again!

We had an amazing 5 night stay the view was stunning right beside the lake, an easy walk or short drive to Queenstown. The Villa was modern, spacious and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and each bedroom had its own balcony. The only thing we found a bit difficult was the parking. Would highly recommend staying here we will be back again.

My husband and I stayed at a lakeside suite at Villa Del Lago for part of our honeymoon and it exceeded our expectations. You can't beat the views of the Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu and it's close enough to downtown Queenstown to be able to get there quickly via car or on foot but you get a more intimate and tranquil experience being a little outside the city center. It's also perfect if you plan on preparing meals there and it has in unit laundry which was perfect for us since this was towards the end of our trip. The living space is quite spacious for two people and is very well kept. Would highly recommend if you want to spend time in beautiful Queenstown

Gorgeous views from both the living room and the bedroom and the self check in is seamless. Parking was a hassle, we did find a tight spot in the corner but people had parked in odd spaces next to the small upper floor road which made parking difficult. Property isnt friendly for the disabled. We stayed just for a night and didn’t even bother to haul our luggage up and down the stairs- just brought our small carry ons with what we needed to get ready in the morning and leave. While this could all still be compensated for by the views and location, the morning brought a really unpleasant experience. There was a strange stench coming from somewhere on the porch outside which was confusing because it wasnt there the previous night and the lake is not that close to the property.

Villa Del Lago is all round awesome accomodation, equiped with everything you need. A warm room with an unbelievable view. We enjoyed returning after each day of adventure to a super quiet area and comfy bed. We often walked into Queenstown, which was beautiful along the trail. And we opted to catch the public bus if it was late or we had a big day. We completely forgot about cleaners making up the room halfway through a longer stay and were surprised to come back to a made up room. All the staff communicate clearly and with no doubt would be very helpful if you require any assistance with your stay! Thank you so much, we look forward to staying with you again!
