Villa del Mar Hotel

We traveled as a group of two couples in our 60’s and 80’s for 10 days. Overall we had a lovely time despite some inclement weather but it was December and better than the UK. This is rated as a 4 star hotel. Regrettably we didn’t think it was. |Positives are the incredible staff both front of house and housekeeping. Special mention to the MaitreD and his team Patricia and Veneta who were excellent. Bar staff were very welcoming too and the hotel only used branded drinks not the cheapest versions which was excellent. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and sheets/towels changed very regularly. The hotel is well positioned in a quieter area with easy walking to the Old Town. The hotel faces the beach and it’s worth getting a higher floor sea view. |Negatives unfortunately are the evening seating areas. The main bar area is cold with very uncomfortable seating and the basement entertainment area is similar with either bench seating or plastic chairs. These areas need comfortable seating which would probably make the hotel 4 star. The only comfortable seating is the reception area for a maximum of 8 people. |The food was buffet, which is ok because you can always find something to enjoy but the dining room is loud, school cafeteria style but we found ourselves staying at the quietest possible table for over two hours at dinner to avoid the main bar seats. |Being away with our friends was great and we enjoyed Benidorm and the wider areas we explored on the train.

We are at the Village del Mar now , we moved our holiday from the Flamingo Oasis. It’s is a front row hotel with uninterrupted views of the Poniente Beach and bay. We have a sea view room which has the fabulous views. The windows open so it’s like having a balcony.We are all inclusive . The hotel now has their own bar next door which is great in the evening and also there is a bar up on the beautiful roof terrace. There are plenty of seats up there and sun beds. It is a gentle 10 min stroll into the old town at night and about 15minutes into the new town. The old town is really lovely. We went on the open top bus tour of Benidorm this morning and are so pleased we chose this hotel instead of the Flamingo Oasis which is a long way from the beach and set amongst other high rise blocks of apartments and hotels and the very very busy Levante beach side on Benidorm . The food is good with masses of choice every day and the drinks are excellent. The mini bar is stock with wine, beers and soft drinks and is free. There is a water machine on each floor . The hotel is a little dated admittedly but spotlessly clean . Lovely new towels , changed daily and excellent bedding on very comfortable beds. I would recommend you pay for a sea view as it is well worth it.We will definitely be back. The weather is perfect for sunbathing at the minute and the town is gearing up for the festa which starts at the weekend.

Stayed here in late November and wasn’t over impressed. Hotel position is excellent and the reception, bar areas and restaurant were all clean and modern looking. The rooms, although clean, were dated and slightly shabby. Ours, a superior sea view room, was on the first floor, directly above the front loading area. The sea view was somewhat spoiled by a bent metal lamp post directly in front of the window. Food was poor and very repetitive (pork and fish seemed to feature at every meal). The three bar areas were good, the pre mixed cocktails were not.|We took out the “ultra all inclusive package” for which we paid extra. Much is promised but very little delivered because “it’s out of season” Fair enough if you are told about this at the time of booking and not when you arrive. Even now the holiday company we travelled with are selling (at an extra cost) the “ultra all inclusive” for next year claiming that you get all sorts of extras. If it’s anything like this year, these extras will not be available in the winter months. If you do come here “out of season”, just go for the ordinary “all inclusive” it’s not much different from the “ultra all inclusive” and will save you a few euros.|We found the reception staff quite “unreceptive” when we approached them with our issues.|A final point, the hotel charge you three euros per day for using the in room safe and one euro per bag for weighing your case before departure - minor amounts, but something I’ve never had to pay for before.

We have just finished our holiday here and had an absolutely fantastic time. All the staff were lovely and helpful and the room was spotless. We got the jacuzzi room which was incredible and the sea view is to die for. We had breakfast included and we were amazed at the selection as I haven't seen another hotel with so much choice and everything was so tasty. The rooftop bar had the best views watching the sunset and the drinks were very tasty especially the melon mojito! The location is really good, there are multiple bars and restaurants on the same street and it is a short walk into the old town and there is a small market a few minutes down let alone being opposite the beach and it is quite a quiet area which was really nice. Overall the time we had was amazing and I would definitely stay again. Thank you so much!

Fabulous location on sea front and only 5 minutes walk to the old town.|Bright and welcoming lobby with background music and comfy sofas to relax on at any time of day |Always an excellent choice of hot and cold food, Serrano ham freshly carved every day and good selection of cheese and salads - we couldn't fault it. Comfortable bedroom with sofa, spacious bathroom with soft fluffy towels, room was cleaned everyday and the beds were almost too comfortable especially with an uninterrupted sea view! Good mix of nationalities in guests, staff very friendly and work extremely hard.|Liked outside seating area behind glass along the front of hotel and the fact that Bar Abordo is next door to hotel - feels more sociable 🍷|We're already planning a return trip!

We stayed in room 703 on 21st - 25th November, fell in love with the hotel loved every minute of being there. Choices of food was outstanding, all staff very welcoming and would do their best to help you with anything, a special thankyou to Alex on reception for sorting out our picnic bag when ours had gone missing and getting Our pick up time sorted back to the airport. Will definitely be back, hopefully I get a surprise trip for my birthday in January 😋

Good location just outside Old town. Fast check-in and all inclusive bands attached to wrists but staff did not explain that there was a microchip in the band that unlocked the room door or toilets at reception or ordering drinks at bars. Room was large wifi was not too bad but the all so familiar 2 single mattresses pushed together to make a double bed which was a pain. Air-con was fine, bathroom was large with his and her sinks, rain shower over the bath was also good, there are 2 small swimming pools at the rear of the hotel but neither gets much direct sunlight and never seemed to be used, there was also a small gym there also. Rooftop bar area was nice with great views along Pontiente beach. Food was quite good with great service there

Wonderful staff - very attentive, friendly and go above and beyond to be helpful. Hotel is spotlessly clean. Rooftop bar is absolutely wonderful. Rooms are great and the bar attached to hotel is great. Nice vibe and friendly. Staff really are helpful. Restaurant staff are very hard working and so attentive. Ety was particularly attentive and so helpful, friendly and professional. We will definitely return to this hotel and will recommend highly to all of our friends and family. Thank you so much
