Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa Cabo San Lucas

"Set on the world-famous Médano Beach, Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa Cabo San Lucas has everything you would expect from one of the best resorts in Mexico. You know you've landed somewhere special the moment you enter the nine-story atrium lobby, with chandeliers and saltwater aquariums. The luxury continues in the 460 suites, which have stunning views of the Sea of Cortez and outdoor terraces or balconies. But the main draw here might be the Desert Spa, a 31,000-square-foot spa boasting hydrotherapy centers and a full-service beauty salon, and a menu that features every type of facial and massage you could imagine."

We spent a week here for our anniversary in July 2025. Our youngest daughter and my sister Charlotte was able to go with us. We enjoyed ourselves. The only problem we had was our room wasn’t what were told it would be. But the free shuttle was great. The food was delicious. We enjoyed being able able to visit and eat at sister resorts.

A beautiful place with great food. I’ve been reluctant to stay at an all inclusive before because I thought the food quality would suffer. We had great meals here. The rooms are facilities were also good. The only negatives were the check in wait and sometimes bar service is a bit slow. Overall I would recommend though. I don’t know why it classified at a 3 star hotel. Felt more like a 5 to me.

From the beginning the check out took over 40 minutes. Super disorganized and slow process. Though Luis Fernando did an amazing job and actually made me feel welcomed initially. The non waiter staff were also excellent. Like the reception, cleaning staff, or bellhop. If you are light complected then you will have a good time and service. God forbid that you have any melanin or you will get discriminated. From getting placed in the back of restaurants to getting accused of breaking the rules just because you want to enjoy the “all inclusive package”. The “all inclusive package” is so misleading. They have strict limitations on what you can consume or what amenities you can use. It’s sad to see that the staff discriminates against essentially anyone that looks Hispanic. Just because the prejudice that we can’t afford such perceived luxuries. I expected better this. I’ve been to other resorts and places around Mexico and not once felt that way. I talked to a manager about it and gave me such platitudes as excuses and were dismissive. Do not recommend unless you are light complected. I expected better from this place. Also I expect a template response to this review. Just how this place operates. EDIT: As expected a premade template response. No apologies or true acknowledgment of the issues stated. This place is not worth your money with the amount of other resorts near by.

Excellent location to downtown, is walkable to outside food and another public beach. Room was not great, really humid. Towels never dried and our clothes felt damp. Experienced a leak in the ceiling during our stay. Loud neighbors can be heard easily. Did a sales presentation for free drinks and food. The coupons for cocktails were for very specific sweet drinks. You couldn’t sub them for just a shot. The bar/pool food wasn’t great and it was just the basic stuff. The restaurant down by the ocean was good, fresh fruit and yogurt was delicious. Esther was our favorite waitress. Super friendly and helpful. One adult pool only but it looked a bit gross on the surface. The beach was beautiful and we were able to go down a couple of times when the tide wasn’t all the way in. We wouldn’t come back.

Visited in December of 2024 and had such an amazing time. Beautiful views with lovely spacious rooms! Staff is top tier amazing and helpful/friendly. The food was also delicious from breakfast until dinner. We did the all inclusive and it was definitely worth it. endless food and drinks even in the pool! We were here for a wedding and it was BEAUTIFUL! room service was always great quick and thorough. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because they were doing construction the entire time we were there and it was pretty loud unfortunately starting super early but the add ons look like they will be awesome! Will definitely go back some day

Check in was a beating, the front desk people looked miserable. We weren’t greeted, no drink nothing. Just not what I expected and we travel a lot. The hotel seemed under staffed. Line to get a drink, lines to eat and guess what the resort was not even that packed. The vibe was just not a good one, no one seemed happy, no one went out of their way, it was just blah. I put my stuff on a chair coupe hours later the security took it and I had to go get it. The kids couldn’t even go get a pizza because they want a room number and signature etc… they checked every time we gave them our room number like we were lying and they would ask you’re —- just annoying. Definitely won’t be back, the two good things..food was good and great view.

My experience at Villa del Palmar was extremely disappointing. While the resort may look appealing at first glance, the reality was frustrating, stressful, and at times downright upsetting. The most serious issue we faced was that personal items went missing from our room during our stay. We weren’t sure how or why, but when we reported it to staff, the response was unhelpful and dismissive. Rather than offering any support or showing concern, they said they had to search our room as part of their protocol. Let me be clear: this was invasive, humiliating, and completely uncalled for. We were made to go through our personal belongings in front of staff, treated more like suspects than paying guests. There was no apology, no transparency, and no follow-up from management. The situation left us feeling violated, anxious, and uncomfortable for the rest of our trip. On top of that, the customer service was inconsistent at best. While a few employees were kind, most acted indifferent or inconvenienced by even basic questions. There was no real communication or accountability at any level. The room itself wasn’t much better. It was worn down, not very clean, and had a musty smell. Towels were stained, and the overall environment did not feel like a relaxing or well-maintained resort. We expected so much more for what we paid. What was meant to be a restful getaway turned into a stressful experience filled with tension and distrust. I would never stay here again, and I strongly urge others to think twice before booking. There are many better resorts nearby that respect your privacy, treat guests with dignity, and provide the level of service you deserve.

A Truly Unforgettable Stay! We loved every second of our time at this incredible resort in Mexico! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcomed—kind, helpful, and always going above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect stay. The resort itself is absolutely stunning—immaculately clean, beautifully maintained, and you can tell the team works around the clock to keep it looking its best. The views were some of the best we’ve seen in Cabo, and the beach was clean, swimmable, and blessed with crystal-clear blue water. We also really enjoyed the dining options—every restaurant we tried was delicious, and the nightly shows were such a fun treat for the whole family. Poolside and room service were both top-notch, adding an extra layer of relaxation to the trip. Our stay exceeded every expectation—we fell in love with this place and can’t wait to come back!
