Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa Cabo San Lucas

"Set on the world-famous Médano Beach, Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa Cabo San Lucas has everything you would expect from one of the best resorts in Mexico. You know you've landed somewhere special the moment you enter the nine-story atrium lobby, with chandeliers and saltwater aquariums. The luxury continues in the 460 suites, which have stunning views of the Sea of Cortez and outdoor terraces or balconies. But the main draw here might be the Desert Spa, a 31,000-square-foot spa boasting hydrotherapy centers and a full-service beauty salon, and a menu that features every type of facial and massage you could imagine."

We had a two bedrooms, a pull out couch and three baths which served us well with six people. The room also had a frig and stove top. The water temperature was off as we had a few cold showers. We had both all-inclusive and not all-inclusive. For the non- inclusive there are many restaurants and a Walmart not far away for food. The resort is also very close to the marina. It is about a 20 minute walk to the marina with kids. There are some great restaurants on site but a little expensive without all inclusive package. All the food was great. Very large portion at the on-site restaurant so you probably could share if you wanted. The beaches are great and the pools are heated which is a bonus. A lot of nice activities and the event staff (along with all the staff) are helpful and friendly. They had a kids club as well which my five year old loved. I would definitely return give the opportunity.

Unfortunately I booked through a 3rd party marketing company and did not do my research. I gave my room experience 1 star, but that's because my room was a marketing room and everything about the was terrible. Multiple tiolet issues, sofa bed had a very thin and uncomfortable mattress, my balcony view was of construction materials and I had money missing from my room. This does not exemplify the entire resort only the marketing room (room 3210 to be exact). Taxi to the mariner: No, the hotel charges $11 US, YES, UBER was $4 US. IF you are here for a timeshare meeting keep in mind, the more interest you show, the longer the meeting. Ours lasted about 2 .5 hours. I wanted to hear what they were talking about. I did not buy but it did sounded good. The rooms that we were shown during the timeshare meeting were really nice and had we known we were getting such a terrible room we would have just booked through the resort and been fine. A little bit more attention to detail would have made a big difference. Yes to the food, it was good. Tomatillos restaurant was great. The best tender and moist steak I've ever had and two lobster tails with Mac and cheese. Great tacos at the taco bar and great breakfast buffet. Really good Christmas dinner and show. Most of the eating places give you a great view of the beach. Excursions: No, dont book them at the resort. Yes, go to the mariner and book at the mariner. You will get a much better price. We paid $20 a person for whale watching and actually saw whales. Our boat was way too close in my opinion 10 meters from the whale when it surfaced. The dinner shows: The staff did great job performing on a stage that was half the size of most high school stages in the US. Overall beside the room being a terrible experience everything else was okay.

We visited Nov 10-17 and had a magical stay! ✨ We had a room with a balcony, beautiful ocean view, and full kitchen which allowed us to cook meals in the room (we shopped at Costco and the grocery store nearby; a short uber ride away). The pools and ocean are incredible for swimming - chill vibes at the adult only pool; volleyball and some other light activities at the other pool. The gym and tennis court were easy to use/access and well maintained. (There are pickleball courts that look great too although we didn’t use them.) We were on the lunch plan where we had lunch included - we loved the Tacobar restaurants for tacos and ceviche everyday. Food and vibes were great! Everyone was lovely here - we had the best trip!! 10/10 recommend. Ps. There was construction happening at one of the restaurants but it wasn’t disruptive at all.

Absolutely terrible. I hate to leave bad reviews, but people need to know about the SCAMS and Fraudulent activity at Villa Del Palmar. Don't fall for the fake reviews and stay away! We checked in on Christmas to find a surprise additional $1000+ USD charge since THEIR system didn't save the age for our kids. We had traveled 9+ hours to get here and the team offered to cancel our reservation without any refund and absolutely refused to help, despite our records of confirmed reservations showing all the details accurately. We were completely lost with young kids, in a new country and with no options - they knew this and took advantage of it. Shameful! Location is decent, good access to the beach, but the property itself is very dated. Much better deals elsewhere.

Visited late April/early May of 2025. The vibe was very relaxing, all of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful, and the food was great. Sonny at the Sports Bar was particularly helpful and thoughtful, remembering my wife's gluten free needs throughout the visit. The fitness center is excellent, with a wide range of free weights, machines, and cardio equipment. The only downside was the timeshare presentation we had to sit through. They shuttled us to a different location so we couldn't just leave, it lasted way longer than advertised, and it was exhausting to get them to finally call the cab and get us back to Villa del Palmar. We tried to be pleasant, but that always backfired as friendliness was met with another sales pitch. Highly recommend walking down to the Sand Bar for an inexpensive beachside massage, and doing the sunset sailboat cruise with Cabo Adventures. This was our first time in Cabo, and we'd love to go back.

Great facility overall. Perfect weather in December, low 70 high 80 every day. Great food and service. We did the all-inclusive package, which was helpful to not have to check prices on everything. Very nice restaurants and pools, with shallow toddler-friendly section. The negatives were: racquet sports equipment provided was cheap, broken, inadequate quantity, dead tennis balls. Also, site was under construction so it was noisy and some places were shut down.

Do not stay here. Seriously, do yourself a favour and book elsewhere. This is a terrible resort with horrible practices and many staff are openly racist. My partner and I went to this resort before staying at another and it was a disaster. Let's start with the positive before moving into the negatives: The room was in good condition. I felt like resorts in this range tend to have worst rooms, but this one was surprisingly decent. The distance from the marina wasn't too bad and we found ubering there fairly simple. In terms of the food, it was just okay. Nothing stood out as spectacular or good for that matter. Now for the negatives. Despite my partner booking and paying the exact same package as a friend who visited a month prior, the staff failed to honour the all-inclusive package despite there being a booking issue where the person logged it under the wrong type of package. Inspite of this, I was willing to pay an additional $280 USD to have just one night of an all-inclusive package while the hotel was going to follow up on the mistake. They told us that they would follow up by the morning and they failed to do so. Furthermore, when asked if they would reimburse for the first night given that it is a logistical error on their end, we were told that they would not reimburse the $280 USD. We ended up just using the one night of all-inclusive as we had no intention of spending more at this hotel especially when another manager spoke to us and revealed more about the hotel. In that manager's words "unfortunately, if you're not white, you don't get the same kind of service at this hotel." I've been to several resorts, vacations, and hotels around the world and I've never once had an experience quite like this. The front desk staff were very openly rude (not all, but a fair number of them). As someone who travels frequently, I would highly suggest taking your friends and family somewhere else as this experience was terrible. Furthermore, when I asked about the CAA certification sticker they had at the front desk, the front desk lady told me it was fake. I don't know if there was a communication issue there, but that was extremely worrisome. Overall, my experience here was extremely poor and I would never use this service again.

Went as guests of 20+ year member and had a great time. Stakk was wondefull and polite to us. We didn't opt for all inclusive as we like to go town town as well! Did a Costco/Walmart run the days after we arrived and stocked up with liquids and food. Both pools were excellent as well as the hot tubs. There was construction noise in the lower pool area if you were on north side of pool. Only ate to Sports Bar twice and breakfast deli every day. Danish were great, bagel not so much. We took advantage of 2-4 HH several days! We will return!!!!!!!!!!!!!
