Villa della Fonte is a small hotel in the Trastevere neighborhood, with only 5 rooms according to their website. They also have a standalone apartment a few steps away from the hotel; the apartment is serviced and includes the hotel breakfast. The apartment was less expensive than a room during our timeframe, so we gladly took the opportunity for more room. The apartment has a full but small kitchen with basic cooking items, plus a microwave, full-size refrigerator, coffeemaker, and electric kettle. Thoughtfully, the refrigerator was stocked with two bottles of juice, two large bottles of mineral water, and three half-ish bottles of wine (prosecco, white, and red), along with one Peroni beer. It has two floors, with the kitchen, dining area, seating, and a full bathroom on the main level with the bedroom and full bathroom (with a small washing machine) on the second floor. The bed was comfortable, plently of storage space with a large closet and six drawer dresser. ||Breakfast is served 7:45-10:30am on the 2nd or 3rd floor of the hotel, you fill out a short order form and it is brought out when completed. We had it the first day and it was fine. Fresh croissant are delivered daily from a local bakery, eggs, lunchmeat, and a cheese plate are options as well. On our last full day, they brought over an order of the croissants as we had a 4:45am taxi pickup (the hotel arranged it for 65 euro, a premium over the "inside the wall" flat rate but sparing me the trouble). The front desk was unstaffed during the overnight hours, but a WhatsApp number was provided for emergencies. They also contacted us via WhatsApp a few times during our visit, to check if we needed anything or alert us of housekeeping. A sewer smell started coming from the bathroom on the main floor, getting strong enough where we needed to keep the door closed. We notified the hotel (after we checked out, it wasn't even noticeable the first few days). They said they were aware of the issue and were working to correct it.||The location in Trastevere worked well for us. We typically took public transit (bus or tram) to the first location of the day, walking from there and usually walking back to the hotel in the late afternoon / early evening. We had two dinner reservations during our visit, within a 20 minute walk from the hotel, and otherwise just picked one of the many places near the hotel.||The hotel owns a standalone restaurant literally around the corner from the apartment (sharing the exterior of the building) so there was a fair amount of sound well into the evening. The Basilica of Santa Maria is steps from the hotel / apartment. Unlike the other churches we stayed next to (just worked out that way), its bells chimed every 15 minutes all day and all night, some people may find that bothersome.
