Require sleep? Look elsewhere.
Nice staff, historic architecture and right in the heart of the Old City.
Problem is, they have bands play until midnight several days a week. Yes, they make it known that they have live music when you book. But what they don’t tell you is how astonishingly loud the music is in your room (and I was on the top floor).
On a Sunday night, my noise-canceling headphones couldn’t begin to compete with the band in the lobby and I ended up listening to my music full blast to try to drown it out.
Needless to say, my activities the following morning were a disaster for lack of sleep and sightseeing while running on fumes was not any fun.
Because my vacation was being ruined by late night racket on several nights, I had to make the hard choice to leave before my checkout date.
I was refused a refund for the remaining days of my stay. But without rest, my time in Chiang Mai would have been wasted as I straggled around in a fog.
I flew halfway around the world to enjoy the old city and surrounding areas… not to be involuntarily subjected to a loud cover band rattling my teeth half the night.
If that is your thing, great. If not, I strongly suggest looking at the many other amazing options available nearby.
