We had a wonderful stay here. The room was a perfect size and amenities were plentiful. I was especially pleased to find wash cloths, which seems to be rare at hotels in Europe. Staff was extremely friendly. The outdoor pool was cool but perfectly clean, wonderful garden and relaxing. We also had use of their partner hotels indoor pool- the largest I have ever seen in a hotel!! We did not eat at the restaurant as we have specific food requirements but there are several options nearby to purchase healthy options. We would stay here again!

This hotel is very, very, very outdated. It has an old feel and old smell. The photos on their web site are deceiving. The service is great, the views are great ( even if our room had s partial view), but this ain't no palace. It doesn't feel like they care, to make this hotel really beautiful like the views. I did not like the old, creaky feeling. It would have been better to stay in Castle Chillon (I'm being sarcastic of course). Just doesn't live up to it's name. This hotel could be as beautiful as the views if they cared to upgrade it. In the meantime I just have grin and bear it and enjoy the music festival (too late to change hotels). I probably will not recommend this hotel.

Stayed here 1 night so that we could see Santana at the Montreux Jazz Festival. We were across the road in another building. Small room. Cheap finishings. Bathroom - shower that was too small, and shower nozzle impossible to regulate as was stuck on wall and would not move. An air conditioning unit had been placed in the bedroom, but failed to have an impact on Swiss heat. Carpet so marked with ???? My imagination overflowed. Bed very comfortable. Balcony superb. I laughed at the packet of biscuits left in the room for us - A nice Swiss German touch in a Swiss French canton.

I have never left a bad review in my life but I guess this Hotel shall be the first. Thankfully my fiancé and I only stayed one night. In regards to the rooms - - there is no air conditioning and was given a fan which was faulty (made a gruelling noise the whole night) - there is no Réception phone - the Room windows overlooks a dusty and old roof which is not good but I guess you get what you pay for - there is NO LIFT. Imagine to our dismay when we have to carry our luggages up and down from 3 flight of staircase. (mind you this is supposedly a 4 star hotel) In regards to the staff - 1) The Male Receptionist that was serving us was exceptionally rude. Totally unaccommodating when we asked him how to go about Montreux as we only had a full day to enjoy the city. Never had I met such a receptionist before of my years of travelling.

This is set almost on the lake, in a quaint old wooden Swiss building. It is a pretty traditional two story building with small comfortable rooms. Clean and tidy, set immediately in the city, 5 min walking distance to the main town, a large variety of restaurants accessible and 50 meters from the lake and promenade. There you have bars and restaurants with panoramic views across the lake to the Swiss Alps. Freddy Mercury's memorial State is just 100 meters away on the lake front also. Selfie time!

When I booked the room at the Villa Eden I was not told that the room is located in a separated small building with no direct communication with the hotel. The room assigned to me was in the second floor and the building does not have elevators. The room itself is relatively small, with no direct windows, actually there is a small space with a small table with a small window with a limited view to the lake. In the bathroom the shower is located in a small improvised space. In addition to all these things, the air conditioning is provided by a portable equipment which produces a quite high noise when working.

Whilst in Montreux we had to re-calibrate our itinerary and had to add an extra day in hand, so we took a last minute decision to try this hotel. Admittedly it was a last minute booking and we thought we got lucky - but what a nightmare it turned out to be. ||Instead of the expected Belle Epoque style as presented on the website, we were accommodated in an annex down a side street - an ancient building, cum conference venue, cum suites with a dimly lit non-descript entrance with a torturous staircase to the 1st floor.||Our "family room with a view" turned out to be a strange two roomed arrangement with a large bathroom and a separate shower and toilet and a side patio. Sounds great but look at the photos attached! ||The fresh coat of paint was a brave attempt at redecoration, but it did nothing to brighten our stay . ||The rumbling bar refrigerator, the huge outside extractor and the hum of machinery outside the bathroom was a rude awakening (as if we managed to get any sleep at all since there was no air-conditioning in the stuffy room).||The room was rudamentary with the emphasis on rude. Strange wall outlets and odd fixtures prevailed while there were no shelves or hangers in an empty bathroom cupboard! ||The TV was a nightmare - you had to log on to a website to get reception and any channels at all. We gave up. Instead we asked for a tea kettle. None arrived. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Breakfast was good, service from staff was good, location was noisy (lots of super cars racing to the casino on the saturday night). ||||Challenge was no air conditioning in the rooms meant leaving the windows open which lead to a noisy evening with our young family.||||That being said the location is fantastic, right by the Freddie Mecury statue and along the lake.||||There is a small shopping mall very close by, with a Mcdonalds and small supermarket.||||The walk along the lake was a nice thing to do in the evenings, as well as the small playground by the lake.||||Our primary reason for choosing was the proximity to the lake and the Chateau De Chillion.||||Parking was not cheap, but that may be Switzerland in general (approximately 20 euros a day for parking at the hotel).
