In the heart of a residential neighborhood, this quiet, stylish hotel offers affordable airport pickup/dropoff, bicycle rentals, and great views from both your room and the rooftop bar. Although it's not centrally located to the more common tourist spots, there's a metro stop one block away, as well as a tree lined pedestrian and bike path that takes you all the way to Passieg de Gracia.

Lovely location with plenty of places to eat or pick up a few groceries nearby. It's not a super 'touristy' area, so it was a comfortable, peaceful place to wake up in and return to each night. There's a metro stop right around the corner, which was very useful. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated, the staff was helpful, and I would happily recommend this hotel to my friends.

Just returned from 3 day city break with my 12 year old son. Very impressed with this hotel. The staff were very welcoming and we loved the decor and unique vibe. The beds were extremely comfortable. We had room only as the breakfast would have been wasted on my son (fussy eater) but the bistro area looked lovely. The hotel is surrounded by shops, cafes and restaurants. We visited Brunch in the City and Bracafe (see photos of food) which I recommend and are within a 5 min walk. The Rocafort metro is 5 min walk away behind the hotel which provides very easy access to all of sightseeing spots. A 2 day ticket plus 1 Single trip cost £35 for both of us. A taxi from near the marina to the hotel was 10 euro.||We listened to live music whilst waiting for our airport transfer home and spent some time at the roof terrace. ||I would definitely book this hotel again.

This is our second time at this hotel. Great location for bars, various restaurants and trains. Rooftop bar is a lovely place to chill out, but the waiter didn’t seem that happy to serve us, in fact he was quite rude. Not sure if it was my poor Spanish or whether he expected me to speak in Catalonian. Apart from that the rest of the staff were very helpful. Needs some maintenance on the downstairs toilet lighting.

Just perfect in every way. Quiet location near metro. Quiet and very comfortable rooms, cleaned to a high standard.|Nice rooftop bar that is opened only in the evening due to the heat.|My only problem was the map that we were given for the bus tour was out of date and changes had been made to the route.

We stayed here for a night after arriving to Barcelona at the end of a cruise before flying home to the U.S. First off, the staff were some of the friendliest people I've dealt with at any hotel. The atmosphere were elegant and calm, even with the hotel being right in the middle of a busy area of the city. The rooms were very clean, and the rooftop terrace was incredibly relaxing. The only single minor complaint was the over-firmness of the mattress, but everything else made up for it above and beyond. Highly recommended.

Nice little boutique hotel. Beautifully designed lobby with nice restaurant. In addition to restaurant there's a rooftop bar. We didn't go up there but it seemed popular. Good location. Its not right in the crowded areas which we prefer as we like to walk. Typically we would take cab to sightseeing area then walk back. We felt totally safe doing so even in the evening. The only reason we didn't give 5 stars was the shower. There was no way to use it without water getting everywhere because it barely had a door. I don't understand why anyone involved would think it was good design but it does seem to be common in Europe, along with glass doors. That's really the only negative we found however.

Fantastic location, great cafe across the road and just a very short walk up the street from the metro station. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly, accommodating and made recommendations on local places to eat and things to do. The room was clean and spacious, house keeping did a great job. We didn’t use the restaurant downstairs but it looked nice, we tried the rooftop bar which was a great spot, but having to head downstairs to get food and drink was a little bit of a drawn back, you can use an intercom system - I’m being very critical of a tiny moment in an otherwise great stay.

Google
Overall great stay and the best hotel from our trip. We were on the 2nd floor and you couldn’t hear any street noise. Also the hotel is just block away from the metro and the area had a good selection of restaurants. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I thought I took pics of the room & bathroom but apparently only took pics of the breakfast that was included. Oh well, the hotel was lovely. I would come back here again. Traveler tip: you have to actually request 2 beds if you want 2 beds. I thought this was common knowledge but apparently it's not. Anywho, the hotel is lovely. Feels very trendy & chic. Lots of art. Live music. The room we had was the largest I had been in the two weeks I was on holiday & it was glorious. The bed was comfortable yet offered plenty of support. The two beds were still side by side with no space between them but still 2 separate beds. The bathroom was fabulous. The water pressure & temperature was great. Rain shower head available as well. Towels were good quality and not scratchy at all.

Yelp
We did not stay here although the establishment looked very nice. We stumbled upon the place for dinner on a Friday night after the restaurant we were going to had an hour wait. Luckily this was an excellent choice although we did have a bit of a struggle with servers and English. The menu itself is in English as well as Spanish so that was very helpful. I tried the negroni which was quite good and my husband had a local beer. We ordered some different tapas. We had Comte cheese and fig jam, patatos, bread, a garden salad and a Russian salad. It was a lot of food! The Comte cheese and fig jam were delicious although I would have liked to have had crackers or bread with it. The patatos were fried beautifully and I liked both the mayo based and the tomato based sauces;however although they were seasoned well- I did not find them spicy. Both salads were good. The server kept asking if we wanted bread so we finally said yes and of course there was a charge for it but I was glad I was able to try the bread with olive oil and tomato. Ambiance was quite nice. Service initially was quick but once we had our food, the server never came back to check if everything was okay or if we wanted another drink. All in all a good experience.

Yelp
Super late review from vacay last year, but this is a beautiful hotel and I had a great stay! It's located in the Eixample district of Barcelona, and is close to lots of restaurants and things to do (La Rambla is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel). As far as the hotel goes, it is aesthetically modern and very clean. I was immediately greeted my the staff, whom was very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I had a beautiful, clean room, and it had an amazing balcony view over the neighborhood below. This was my final of 3 accommodations during my week in Barcelona, and I guess you could say I saved the best for last! The hotel also has a great breakfast buffet, and I had dinner there once, which wound up being fantastic as well. I definitely recommend staying here, and would totally stay here again if I ever come back to beautiful Barcelona!

Yelp
In Hotel Villa Emilia, we may have found "the one" for future trips to Barcelona! We tend to go the city once or twice each year, and have tried different hotels on each occasion. While none of the other hotels were necessarily bad, none provided as positive of an experience as Hotel Villa Emilia! The staff were very friendly from check in to check out. From the front desk, to the cleaning staff, to the restaurant staff, everyone was incredibly pleasant. They also get bonus points for being extremely dog-friendly! They don't charge for your dog, and even provided us with a dog bed without us asking. I had emailed ahead of our visit to inquire about any dog-related details and to let them know about our dog, and their response was fast and pleasant. As far as the rooms go, ours was modern, clean, and comfortable. Just enough storage for 2 people and a tiny dog. The rooms may feel small, depending on what you're used to, but I thought it was perfect...especially on a trip where you're not spending much time in the room anyway. This area is really quiet, too. We were able to sleep soundly with the window open, so if you want to avoid the excessive crowds of tourists, this is a great option. From an atmosphere perspective, the hotel has a very cool boutique vibe about it. The common areas are nicely-appointed, clean, and modern (same as the rooms). The restaurant/bar downstairs was excellent, too. I usually don't have high expectations of hotel restaurants, but Bistrot Villa Emilia was really good! We actually went back twice for a nightcap of some tapas and drinks. It's a perfect spot to get some pan con tomate and jamón, and their "patatas as horno con brava de tomates secos" are a more savory version of bravas. More sweet and smoky than spicy and smoky, but really good! The real showstopper for us was the "timbal de pulpo a la Gallega." Their take on Galician octopus was so good, with perfectly-cooked octopus over mashed potatoes. We love the traditional dish, but this was such a great version! They have a nice gin selection if you want excellent gin & tonics, too! Aside from the elevators being noticeably slow, I really can't think of anything to complain about. In thinking through all of the hotels we've stayed in during trips to Spain/Barcelona, Hotel Villa Emilia was definitely the best, and we'll certainly return on our next trip!

Yelp
Had a great 6 day stay here. Staff was friendly and helpful, very clean, comfortable. The restaurant here was delicious and relaxing on the roof with a great view was a really nice touch. Great location, walking distance to a lot of great restaurants and a close walk to the subway. 5 stars and will stay here when I visit Barcelona again.

Yelp
From the moment we got in the door to check-in to the moment we checked-out, the staff was professional and friendly. The hotel is 10 minutes of a cab ride from the hustle and bustle of the Plaça de Catalunya of where we mostly went for our tours. The receptionist called for our cabs and just made us feel at home. Everyone on the staff spoke English, and were more to help us with recommendations of places to tour and places to eat at. The hotel room were clean, and very updated. Amazing place to stay while in Barcelona! We will definitely miss the cappuccino every morning, the freshly made boiled eggs, and Jámon - the breakfast buffet was amazingly delicious!!!

Yelp
For the price, this was a very nice stay in a great location. We were disappointed by the restaurant, which was overpriced and served mediocre food. Thank goodness we didn't buy the breakfast buffet (17 euros = $20 per person), as it was not very good compared to other hotels in Spain. (In Segovia, the Eurostar Plaza Aqueducto has a fantastic AYCE breakfast for only 9 euros per person!) The daily Nespressos were a nice touch, but the free pastries were mediocre. Service was nice, and the rooms were very comfortable. I gave the hotel 5 stars, but the "Zinc Bar/Restaurant" only 1 star. The welcome appetizer & drinks were "meh," consisting of stale potato chips and salty olives, with a glass of cheap red wine. (Since this was provided by the Zinc Bar, we didn't hold the hotel responsible)

Yelp
This hotel has been everything that we have been looking for. Clean, comfortable, great location and safe. This hotel is close to everything yet far enough away from the Hussle and hussle of many tourist areas and the entire staff spoke English. Monica was a standout by far. She provided excellent recommendations as well as amazing service. There wasn't a single request she couldn't accommodate. We primarily walked or took taxis and were comfortable getting around either way. The food in the hotel was great and breakfast was fresh and fulfilling. We also enjoyed cocktails at night while unwinding from the busy day. It was simply perfect and an amazing value!!! Highly recommended.

Yelp
When you walk in the beautiful unique scent envelopes you. You are treated like a valued guest from the time of check-in to check-out. You receive a complimentary glass of wine from the bar to use during your stay. The rooms are comfortable with sufficient closet space. Channels are in Spanish and English, and I believe other languages also. The shower is amazing! The sheets have a unique scent to them that is relaxing and inviting. It's a "secret formula," that unfortunately you cannot buy or know what concoction it is! Friday and Saturday they have live music by the bar. Parking is next to the hotel, and they discount the parking by 40%. Close public transportation, also. Breakfast is a must here! They do have your typical yogurt, meats, cheese, fresh fruit, pastries, bread, but also eggs (fried, boiled, omelette). Delicious! When I return to Barcelona, I WILL stay here.

Yelp
Bed 1/5 Mattress was on the firm side (rating 5 for soft and 1 for hard) Room 4/5 Room was very clean. Desk area and good number of outlets. Room has a flat screen TV. Also Shower warmed up quick. Shower had awesome pressure and drained well. Shower is open entrance (no door) so watch your water pressure and angle to avoid your bathroom floor getting flooded. Proximity 3/5 Close to the city center-about a 15 min walk. Price $$ Overall -Free Internet. Hotel has a restaurant and nice bar. They provide a complementary bottle of wine with check in. Roof access with bar on restaurant is stunning. Staff was very friendly and very helpful! Highly recommend this hotel! Superb rooms for a reasonable price!

Yelp
Great hotel. The best parts: centrally located, clean rooms, beautiful evening bar with live musics, and a delicious breakfast buffet!

Yelp
Great hotel. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We had a late check-in (23:30) and there was no problem (the front desk is 24 hour) and the wine I had ordered was chilling nicely when we arrived. The location is right next to a subway stop and close enough to the city center that you can walk it. The staff at the hotel is incredibly friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions, accommodated all our requests, and (I have to repeat myself) the friendliest people we met in Barcelona. I can also heartily recommend the rooftop bar and the quality of their barbecue (Thursday and Saturday).

Yelp
We stayed here when we were in Barcelona based on the great reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor. We booked our room on their website and received a discount. We also received a complementary bottle of wine. The hotel is not too far from the touristy parts of Barcelona. I would say it is a good balance. The Rocafort subway stop is nearby and makes it easy to check out other parts of Barcelona. Most tourist stops are 1-3 stops away. Most of the people working there were nice. They provided complementary welcome drinks at the bar along with a afternoon break time from 5-7pm with complementary desserts and drinks. The drawback to t his restaurant is that its very cozy. It's a boutique style hotel. The hallways and rooms are small. I was a little taken back by the location. Imagine downtown LA. Other that, it suit our purpose pretty well. Comfortable place to sleep with shower and pretty close to attractions. Pros: 1. Location (close to many places with metro) 2. Prices (can be expensive closer to Las Rambla) 3. Complementary wifi (2 devices only) 4. Complementary drinks and snacks 5. Complementary bottle of wine if you booked on their website 6. Service (can arrange to have room away from streets for quietness and a cab the day before for airport) Cons: 1. Small 2. Location (would need metro pass)

Yelp
Fantastic hotel. Stylish, comfortable, great restaurant, and in a super convenient location for exploring. Only got to stay for a night, but great first experience in Barcelona!

Yelp
I'm glad we stayed here on our first trip to Barcalona. It's not located in a busy part of the city. It's a very quiet corner, but one block from the red line subway, two or three stops to Playa Catalunya. It's also easy to walk to many sites. The room was roomy based on my experience with downtown European hotels. Clean, stylish. The service was friendly, helpful. They helped us get reaervations and advised us where to go. One concierge was not very helpful, but everyone else was. A nice bar in the lobby, too. I recommend it.

Yelp
Love this hotel! Totally dog friendly (they can come to breakfast with you), small but beautiful modern room with everything you need, rooftop lounge, and a bar/restaurant with live music several days a week. Great food, friendly staff ... we'll be back!

Yelp
Put simply, great hotel, and great location. Right by the Rocafort stop on the red line. Comfy, stylish and clean rooms. Excellent breakfast. The restaurant has good chefs, and the prices reflect this. Has a terrace bar too which is worth checking out.

Yelp
Great boutique hotel in a nice part of Barcelona. Our room was quite big and extremely clean. The service is impeccable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone coming to Barcelona.

Yelp
Visited back in February. Very nice hotel, reasonable price, not too far from the excitement, but far enough to be able to sleep. I would definitely recommend this to couple's traveling to Barcelona. The only complaint--and this is minor--was the city tax wasn't included in our online booking. As a result, I had to hit an ATM for a few euros to pay in cash (won't take charge for less than 10 EUR). A bit of inconvenience--especially on our last day with minimal chance to spend the change--but hardly worth avoiding the hotel. Just save a bit of cash for checkout!

Yelp
Hotel Villa Emilia is located in the "Eixample" or "Expansion" district of Barcelona and away from the crowds of the Gothic or El Raval districts. Its quiet location was a major benefit for us and points of interest are otherwise 10 to 15 minutes away by taxi (no Uber or Lyft is available as of this writing). The hotel's rooms are uncluttered or minimalist and some might characterize Villa Emilia as a "hipster hotel". On the roof is an attractive open bar that affords a nice view of the surroundings. The room comes with a small minibar and nonalcoholic items were included in the room price. We elected to include the breakfast buffet in our room price and it proved to be ample including the option of ordering eggs prepared to order in addition to excellent, classic European breakfast items, Spanish charcuterie and individually made coffees. The breakfast provided a significant advantage to starting the morning efficiently as few breakfast restaurants are in the immediate area that is more residential. Additionally, complimentary coffee, hot milk and baked goods are provided to guests between 5 and 7 pm on the first floor that overlooks the lobby and bar area that has live piano music on weekends. The Hotel Villa Emilia dinner was adequate. The staff were uniformly bilingual and entirely guest focused. As an example, we had an early train and the staff arranged to serve our breakfast early. Minor irritants included the absence of wash cloths in the bathrooms, or an ironing board and iron in the rooms. The clientele appeared to be experienced travelers without small children who probably would not enjoy Hotel Villa Emilia.

Yelp
So far we are loving our stay. The hotel is very accommodating. In the morning they have an amazing breakfast with Fresh bread, cheese, cereal. For dinner you have fresh pastas and Wine.... Delicious! The room is cozy and very clean. I will be back.

Yelp
Loved my stay here! I always check reviews before staying here and everything everyone said is correct! The rooms are beautiful and the service is spectacular

Yelp
Excellent hotel with knowledgable, helpful, caring staff. We were so well taken care of, nothing was too much to ask. Location right next to subway so very easy to get around. Bicycle ps for rent at the hotel allowed us to ride along the Mediterranean and see the sites. Great restaurant with music on certain nights. I would highly recommend this hotel make sure you request beds ahead of time especially if you don't want single and also request a room with a balcony or door opening up to the front of the hotel. Rooftop bar was closed when we were there but it looked lovely. Spent 7 night at this hotel and loved it. Staff made the difference.
