The villa is located in a wonderful location, the house is tastefully decorated, every item with thought, the garden, the rooms, the general space, every item with thought for a high level home feeling. The service is exceptionally pleasant. The breakfast is delicious and indulgent. You can sit by the fireplace in the evening and also outside and order drinks and always with a smile and good will. It is highly recommended to come both alone and with family.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the hotel. In itself, it is a beautiful boutique hotel, but the prices are absolutely unreasonable - both in the mini-bar (for 125ml soft drinks you pay 5€) and if you want to have a bottle of water at breakfast, because the water is not refilled regularly. The drinks are also partially expired. Overall, the focus here is more on profit maximization than Italian hospitality. At a room rate of just under 400€ per night, you should be able to expect that you don't have to carry your suitcases up to the room on your own without help being offered, for example. The location of the hotel is charming, but very far (about 25min. by car) from the beach Forte dei Marmi. Overall, we would not recommend the hotel due to the high prices and the lack of service.

There are places you are in doubt about reviewing because you would like to keep it to yourself. Villa Gilda is such a place. A bed and breakfast in a quiet olive grove with views of the coast of Versili. Only six large rooms/suites, very tastefully and practically furnished, large bathrooms with freestanding tubs. Common rooms at the ground floor inviting, terraced garden with view. The pool one terrace down, with ample sun chairs and parasols. Fresh breakfast of good quality is prepared every morning, it is also possible to order something to eat for dinner -either pastas prepared in the kitchen or something brougt up from the owner's restaurant in Forte dei Marmi. The kitchen including coffee and cold refreshment can be used during the day. The staff of five persons make you feel like you are a valued guest in their country house. For those who want action there is discounted access to their upscale Bagno in Forte dei Marmi (free in low season) including bikes- good bike roads along the coast road. Also not far to Pietrasanta, Pisa or La Spezia/Cinqe Terre. Car is practical, since the local small town of Montignoso is not a restaurant- or communication hub (three banks, three bars and two basic pizzeriaa closed until the afternoon). But you really don't need to go anywhere, this is a place where you can just sit back and relax...

We visited Villa Gilda for a week. It was perfect from the moment we arrived. The people working here are one of the kindest we've ever met on holiday and during our many travels. The room we stayed in, Ostro, was very well decorated. We fell in love with the bathroom. When you sit on the balcony, you can see the ocean on the horizon. The breakfast was also one of the best and the lady, Mira, who prepares the breakfast, welcomed us with the biggest smile every single morning! You just feel she puts her heart in preparing the breakfast with delicious cakes, pies, juices, fruit,... She made our wonderful stay complete! The area was quiet and beautiful. We relaxed at the pool, where we were alone most of the time and visited cities such as Pisa, Lucca, Firenze,... It's the perfect place to visit these famous cities.

We have been to various B&Bs already, but this one is more a private 5-star-deluxe hotel than a B&B. The house is set in a beautiful garden complex full of fruit and olive trees, overlooking the Marina. Perfectly decorated rooms, comfy beds and spacious bath rooms give you the feeling of a resort rather than a B&B. The breakfast can easily match any 5-star hotel and the cook Gina prepares every day fresh cakes. ||Vice pool area in the middle of the garden. Well connected to the Restaurant Gilda in Forte del Marmi which gives you the advantage to have a excellent beach club in the season. ||A bit tricky to get in with a large car, but after one or two days you get along. Perfect stay.

It is one way to have once a fabolus time, but when you return and your expectations are again surpassed then you know this place is special. This time we went with friends and had an amazing time! We immediately started to relax by the fabulous surroundings of stylish rooms, the villa and its location in itself, the spacious beach club. The owner and the team gave us such a warm welcoming throughout our stay. I think we found a home away from home.....

Villa Gilda offers a rare combination of spectacular setting, unique design, a small number of rooms and a highly professional hospitality team. Gilda herself is a wonderful hostess and her staff is outstanding (performing above and beyond duties including taking our Forte dei Marmi parking ticket payment). The setting and sunsets are spectacular and access is easy to many sites of interest. The affiliated beach club Gilda is a wonderful bonus. Breakfasts, comprised in part of pastries baked fresh on site daily, were the equal of any we have had anywhere.
