This sums up my experience: lovely hotel with very unlovely coffee. I stayed for 10 days as a solo traveler. The location is perfect. My solo room was dark, which normally would bother me, but I endured. The staff were a mix group -- some were very nice and competent, especially David, who was awesome; other staff members were cavalier and careless, even rude. The overall hotel is lovely and definitely boutique. I had a 2 pm pick up and asked for an extension so I didn't have to rush but they charged me half a day for it. I paid happily but was stunned by the inflexibility and rudeness of the staff who dealt with me about it. My main suggestions are they they get consistent competent staff and that that they elevate the breakfast experience: after five days of the same average things at breakfast, I got sick of eating there. Most of all, the coffee was absolutely disgusting; at times, I felt like it was mixed with gasoline. So I made a habit of going to the Brown Coffee shop down the road for both breakfast and coffee. I wish they had a rate without breakfast so I can just bypass the coffee and breakfast experience.
