Villa Le Barone (Pieve di Panzano, Tuscany) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Located in the rolling hills of Chianti, Villa Le Barone is a living piece of Tuscan history. Home to the Della Robbia family since the 16th century, this former manor retains the warmth of a private estate, with antique furnishings, hand-painted frescoes, and heirlooms scattered throughout its inviting rooms. The gardens, filled with roses and centuries-old chestnut trees, frame an infinity saltwater pool, tennis courts, and quiet terraces with sweeping vineyard views. With farm-fresh Tuscan cuisine, renowned Chianti wines, and a setting halfway between Florence and Siena, it is an escape for those who cherish authenticity, beauty, and the art of slow living." - Tablet Hotels

We are staying here as I write. What a warm welcome we received upon our arrival, and a greeting from the owner Jacqueline her self. Our room in the main building is beautiful dappled with nice art. We have the corner room on the 3rd floor which offers us a beautiful view of the Villa and a very pleasant breeze. The amenities are plentiful, we spent the late afternoon in the pool which offered in itself an amazing view of wine groves and Tuscan church that was perched on the hill. Dinner was another wonderful experience, where we sat in the garden terrace of the restaurant and enjoyed a leisurely and delicious dinner amongst the other guests. Everyone seemed so content and for once I didn't see anyone using their phone. Rather everyone was enjoying the conversation with their family. The owners were even seen enjoying dinner. The location is perfect. I can honestly say this might be one of my most favorite places to stay. Can't wait to get up tomorrow and enjoy my coffee in the hills of Chianti.

Both the Villa and the landscape are stunning. We have been several times to the villa Le Barone and each time we absolutely loved it. It has great charm, views on the Tuscan countryside are spectacular and above all, this place embodies serenity and quietness. Much efforts has been put into this former family house and farm to help guests feel at ease. Rooms and communal parts are filled with family heirlooms which add to the charm of the place. Staff is very attentive to your needs and sweet. Above all, the owners' presence makes sure everything runs smoothly for the best customer experience. I cannot recommend more Villa Le Barone for an exceptional stay in the heart of Chianti. PS: and of course the food is excellent with products coming from their own farm and grown organically (meat included if I may say). The chef makes its own pasta and a simple dish like spaghetti with tomato sauce is a delight. The outside dining space is beautiful.

Really special experience to stay in an historical Country Estate. Beautiful views of the surrounding area. Nice restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The rooms are very nice with bathrooms recently updated and modern. Beds were heavenly, best nights sleep in a long time! I generally do not like Bed and Bath Hotels, but this one was outstanding. Owners are present and were a delight to talk with them both. Close to some great hiking in the grape vineyards and olive orchards (we were traveling with a Backroads hiking group, check it out!). Definitely one of the highlights of our trip

What an amazing five night stay we recently had at Villa Le Barone. The attention to detail, the warm and friendly staff and the Tuscan countryside setting were truly spectacular. They not only serve breakfast each morning, but have a fantastic dinner to enjoy after spending the day visiting the many sites in the area. The Count and Countess are exceptional hosts and we look forward to a return visit soon.

Villa Le Barone is a truly special place, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The peaceful atmosphere and stunning views make it perfect for a relaxing getaway. What made the stay even more memorable were the owners, Corso and Jacqueline—gracious, warm, and genuinely attentive. Their hospitality added a personal touch that made us feel truly welcome. Highly recommended!|

We stayed one night at the beginning of a bicycle tour of Tuscany and had a wonderful stay. The staff were accommodating and made you feel truly welcome, and our room was small and quaint but had everything we needed. The breakfast and dinner were wonderful and they had some very good wines we enjoyed. The grounds are beautiful and it was a pleasure to stroll around and enjoy the scenery and countryside. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Chianti.

This is a very unique small hotel in the hills of Tuscany. It is an old villa with several out-buildings that have been converted into hotel rooms. The gardens and the views were amazing, and we enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the splendid environment. The rooms are all very different and some are rather funky. For example, our room had a short staircase that ended in the wall about 6 feet above the room floor. It is a “get away from the rat race” sort of place that is not in a town, and there are no TVs in the rooms. We were really surprised and impressed and highly recommend the experience.

Authentic upscale accommodations, ultra attentive yet unobtrusive service, idyllic setting in the heart of the Chianti region, beautiful pool area, ultra mellow ambiance. Very harmonious interactions between guests and staff. Breakfast bar somewhat uninspired, dinner selection and quality was good. Numerous guests were regulars, can definitely see why.

Yelp
We stayed there about 4 years ago and I forgot to write a review. Both my wife and I loved staying there. Very warm and friendly staff. We met the owners at breakfast and they were very easy and welcoming. It's a very peaceful and quaint hotel with very cool rooms. They have a great honor bar with a fireplace and different gardens to spend time in surrounded by beautiful country side. The town also has a great attraction for carnivores, the crazy butcher of Panzano. His restaurants are something to experience.

Yelp
Priced and (supposedly) rated as a four star hotel, but built and operated more like an expanded pensione. Our 275 Euro room (US $300) was on the ground floor, next to the laundry and supply rooms. It was dark and airless. We could hear every footstep and balcony conversation from above. We left a day early. It was that bad. The restaurant is more like what you'd find at an American low budget hotel. The salad course is offered as a picked-over buffet. When amazing 65 Euro Michelin star restaurants are within a 20 minute drive, there is no need to pay 45 Euros for a middling buffet meal. Avoid the restaurant if you do book. Update: Beware the Owner. She bullied me to cancel my Booking.com reservation so that she could avoid paying fees--and then claimed poverty on Trip Advisor.

Yelp
Traveled through Tuscany this past October and had the most wonderful stay at Le Barone! Not only is the hotel itself stunning (the architecture is centuries-old and well-preserved), the grounds look out onto beautiful rolling hills and vineyards that you expect to see in the Italian countryside. The owners and staff were all super friendly and always available for a chat about where you're from, what kinds of things to go do, the history of the grounds, etc. At dinner one night, I even saw a couple of guests get emotional and tear up about how lovely their stay had been! Highly recommend staying here if you get the chance - I know I can't wait to visit again!
