This place is truly magical. The view from our room was breathtaking, and the room itself was perfect. They cleaned the rooms 2 times a day, so it was always spotless too. The staff were incredible and knew how to make you feel very special — from a welcome glass of Prosecco to smiles and greetings from every staff member you encounter. And don’t get me started on the food! The included breakfast was SO so good. I usually skip on hotel breakfasts wherever I go, but the breakfast at Villa Magia is not one to miss! We also had dinner from Luna one night and it was just as incredible. I believe every room has a terrace, which is amazing as you can have your meals privately while enjoying the stunning views. Our room in particular had a private tub and sauna on the terrace too which was so nice in the evenings. I can’t recommend Villa Magia enough. There are plenty of hotels at similar price points in Positano but they don’t even come close to Villa Magia. I promise you, you will not regret staying here!

We stayed in the Executive Suite for 3 nights. This was by far the best place we stayed during our 10 night trip in Italy. The suite is 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and has 2 living rooms. The best part is the giant balcony with tons of seating and the best view in all of Positano. The staff was great as well. We used their limo and boat rental company which were both great as well. We could not have asked for anything more. I would highly recommend Villa Magia

The physical layout of the premises was lovely. Our room was equally as nice. The views were breathtaking. The pool area was private, with magnificent sea views and while small- perhaps seats for 8 couples or three families, the privacy and elevation above the fray of Positano were pluses. All the hotel staff behind desk, porters and restaurant staff were very kind and eager to help.. For example, because the Hotel is way off the main road, you have to have a porter hoist your luggage down four flights of steep stairs, and they were always gracious and uncomplaining. If I had a problem with the service in our room, and there were many, the desk staff were pleasant and appeared ready to resolve, despite that subsequently little to nothing was fixed. Unfortunately the hotel is very high above the town itself. We walked down the stairs and up the single busy road several times each day. Going up the stairs was more efficient time wise but beyond our comfort level, and we spent the week before Italy hiking the Alps. It was perhaps 2 miles at a steep incline going up the winding road amongst speeding cars and motorbikes or 20 minutes going down the thin, dark and precarious steps that are the hallmark of this town. Fair warning: it is very risky to walk this vertical town under the influence. Prepare for a stay at this villa by doing 30” stair climbing for a month to meet the aerobic challenge or find something lower down the mountain. There is a car to town from villa but infrequent and inconveniently timed. The maid service was inadequate for 5 star venue. Despite the hotel pleasantly acquiescing to address the failure of adequate room maintenance with the staff, 5 star levels of proper room care were absent. No turndown service, no new washcloths, no regular replacement of shampoo or body gels or ready replacement of dirty towels. The gel appeared to be watered down. The mechanicals of the room did not function. The Bidet was a puzzle: Sometimes it worked but sometimes it just poked you in the rear, and then retracted. We told the desk and they responded by unplugging it to wait for a part. There were two days where the nights were cold, as October can be, and the heat in our room was broken. The air conditioning would not shut off either, so we were shivering cold. The hotel responded to this problem by unplugging the entire HVAC unit. The was a second warm comforter we used to stay warm but strangely on the last day of our stay, the maid removed the second blanket from the room entirely.

Villa Magia is a wonderfully warm, beautiful, and luxurious hotel. It's location is excellent - slightly away from the most congested parts of Positano but easily accessible but foot in 5-10 minutes. The property itself is beautiful and immaculately maintained. We stayed in a two bedroom suite which also has a lovely and large private pool shared by only 2-3 other properties. The thing that makes Villa Magia a truly wonderful hotel is the staff: from Salvatore at the restaurant and bar to Johnnie who looked after every need when in the room to the front desk who were always warm and welcoming. They made us and our children feel so welcome and looked after. I have stayed at the most luxurious properties in Positano and while not as ornate as some of the other luxury properties, Villa Magia is the best of them. Definitely recommend.

We highly recommend staying at Villa Magia, there aren’t enough amazing things I can say about this place. We got married at Villa Magia and we couldn’t have picked a better place. Every single thing about Villa Magia was amazing. We stayed in two different rooms, both were clean and absolutely stunning. The food was amazing and the entire staff during our wedding and our stay was phenomenal. Planning a wedding in Italy over email is never easy but Jada was super accommodating, explained everything so well and had the best ideas and was very supportive. She answered all my questions in a timely manner, she showed photos from previous weddings to give me ideas and she was always available when I needed her before, during and after the wedding. She truly made my vision come to life. I am so grateful to have met her and been able to plan such a special day with her. The staff during our wedding and stay was over the top. They exceeded our expectations. Sal was our bartender, he was so fun, and made the best drinks, I can’t think him enough for his hard work during the wedding. The food was outstanding. Each dish was made so nicely and the food had so much flavor. In addition to the wedding dinner we had the best breakfast delivered to our room several times. The croissants are to die for! The Villa Magia staff treats you like family. They help with your luggage, and transportation services and were always available when needed. We will forever cherish our stay at Villa Magia and we are so grateful to be able to celebrate such a special day with them. Whenever we go back to Positano we will always stay here.

This hotel is extraordinarily good. The views, the room, the food, the pool, the staff and the atmosphere were amazing. We finished our Italian adventure at this hotel and it was the perfect way to conclude our holiday. The hotel has so much to offer and we particularly enjoyed relaxing by the pool with those post card ocean views. Can't wait to return!!!

Honestly I am not going to tell you anything different from the other reviewers. We are not billionaire world travelers but we have been to a number of upmarket properties (Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, similar level all inclusive properties, etc.) that provides perspective on what is or isn't (or should be) included in a high end property.||||Villa Magia is a wonderful place. You can say that for the prices they should be. But if you have been on this earth long enough to afford luxury goods and services you know that reality does not always meet expectation. At Villa Magia it does.||||We had a junior suite with a large patio and a direct and stunning ocean view. It had a bedroom (with separate steam shower) on one side, a living room in the middle and a bathroom with shower on the other side. The bathroom had a fancy toilet/bidet mix and will spoil you. Once you have your buns warmed you will never want to go back to a standard toilet. ||||The room was lovely and in excellent repair.||||Note: The bed is firm. Comfort is personal but we like a softer bed. BUT see below.||||There is not much of an exercise room but you will walk, and walk and walk. Probably a warning to those who have some physical limitations that there are a LOT of steps in V.M. and Positano. V.M. does have some elevators but you need to let them know ahead of time so your room is accessible from one of them. From our room it was 3+ flights (4+ stories in US at least) to get to the restaurant and another 4+ flights (5+ stories) to get to the road that leads to the beach/shopping area. You need to be careful as the stairs (outside the property) are largely old stones and may be bumpy or slippery in the wet. And, outside the property railings are limited or not at all. I suspect that if you are disabled or impaired physically the Amalfi coast is going to be a challenging trip. I am guessing that V.M. is similar in this respect to other water front properties in Positano but I really did not look into it. We were happy but just be aware of the steep and abundant steps in Positano and plan accordingly.||||Tip: If you go to the beach/shopping area do not use the stairs across from the hotel, simply take the winding road (Via Pasitea) down. It does not take any longer and your knees, calves and thighs will thank you.||||The onsite restaurant is very good. There are a lot of interesting and excellent restaurants so I would say you should eat here at least once but try others as well if you are there for a few more days. We had several meals on site and found them to be enjoyable.||||Breakfast. Our room had a larger balcony than some of the others. You really need to take advantage of the wonderful breakfast on the balcony. The view is gorgeous and the food is very good. They offer an excellent assortment of proteins, pastries, fresh squeezed OJ, fruit, coffee, espresso, etc. And their pastries (croissants with different fillings) are freshly made and to die for. This is Four Seasons quality (at least $100-125.00 US value for two) included in our room price. ||||Now to the wonderful, wonderful team at Villa Magia. Some talk a commitment to service. They deliver. As noted in other reviews they give you a Samsung Galaxy when you arrive. Anything you need you simply WhatsApp them and your request will be attended to graciously and promptly. Each and every contact with any of their team was met with genuine warmth and and a sincere desire to help. For example:||||Remember the firm bed I referred to? In other hotels I would simply chalk it up to I was stuck with it. But seeing the overall way they anticipated many needs I mentioned it to them on a whim. Answer: When can we come to your room to add a mattress topper? It made a notable difference in comfort to us. Ask. They will do our best.||||On our first day after 4 hrs in the car from Rome, we did not investigate how far the beach shopping area was. We used the stairs all the way down and got turned around. ||||Note: Use the shuttle provided by the hotel if you are local and tired. They have regular trips. Just WhatsApp them.||||After a long walk and shop (and a long walk back), we walked up to the front desk/ restaurant area clearly exhausted. We plopped down. The older gentleman at the restaurant (I am bad with names) saw two pooped people and immediately popped over with cool water. We were not nearby and not really seeking or expecting any help. He is just a very kind person and saw a few people who maybe needed some help. This is just one example of a team of people who really make a sincere effort to make you feel welcome and cared for. And this is consistent with every contact and every employee we met at Villa Magia.||||Should we visit the Amalfi cost in the future we would not hesitate to come back to Villa Magia and we heartily recommend them to you.

My wife and I stayed for 7 nights at Villa Magia. I did a great deal of research before picking Villa Magia and I am incredibly happy with the choice.||Villa Magia staff are incredible! I mean they all are really good at what they do. I also felt their hospitality was extremely genuine and that they enjoy making sure their guests are having a wonderful stay. They accommodated our requests and they went out of there way to make sure we were having a great visit.||Villa Magia itself is incredible. The views from our room were outstanding. The pools are beautiful and service at poolside fantastic. Our room had both a hot tub as well as well as a sauna.||Ristorante Luna is absolutely perfect. The view is gorgeous and the food and service could not have been better. The waiters made us feel at home which added to our wonderful experience.||They have food available all day. I ate many delicious meals and gained 8 lbs! Breakfast is incredible. Eating breakfast in a gorgeous setting that includes delicious pastries that they make on site. How can you go wrong?||Last, we took a day trip to Capri on a Villa Magia boat. This was a very memorable experience and we very much enjoyed speaking with the Captain.||It's a very special experience when you visit a hotel and feel completely at home. Villa Magia gave us that feeling! Looking forward to returning.

Yelp
This is an amazing place to stay in Positano. Everyone here is super super nice. I appreciated everything they did for us. From the early check in, to the taxi rides, and bag porters. Everything about this place was amazing. I definitely recommend this place if you are thinking about staying here. The service is beyond amazing. I've never stayed at a place that gave you everything you possibly needed. They will go above and beyond to make your stay worthwhile. Thank you so much for the amazing hospitality.

Yelp
Villa Magia has by far been one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had in my life. When you first arrive, you are greeted by porters to help you with your luggage. This is a nice feature for any hotel, but in Positano it is an absolute life saver! The nearest street is a few flights up from the hotel entrance, so carrying heavy luggage down can be quite precarious. However, they have trained professionals ready and eager to help! I was amazed when they scooped up more luggage than I could carry alone over flat ground and easily traversed the steps to lead us to the hotel. Your first glimpse of Villa Magia is breathtaking. As you walk onto their courtyard, there are two beautiful trees and a flowerbed that overlook the cliff and the beachside of the city. Walking deeper in, you are met with a gorgeous terrace lined with vines and plenty of seating that overlooks the coast. It feels like walking into a postcard! This leads to the outer dining area for Luna, the hotel restaurant. Definitely try to eat here if it fits your schedule! The food is amazing, and the head waiter, Salvatore (Sal), was a joy to interact with. He will make wonderful suggestions and make you feel right at home. The staff at the front desk, just inside past the terrace, are also fantastic. They ameliorated every aspect of our stay, including providing us with an iPhone and messaging system via WhatsApp for 24-hour assistance. We worked primarily with Jada, who was amazing and so welcoming. When she found out we were planning a day trip to Capri, she not only reserved our tickets for us (which we found out later sold out, so we were lucky she had!), but also gave us her personal recommendations as she used to be a skipper for one of the boats. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and had absolutely amazing views. There were high ceilings and even built-in sauna! Our favorite parts were the sun room and the balcony garden. Every morning they would deliver breakfast to our room (which we had pre-selected the night before and sent via WhatsApp), and they would set it up wherever we liked. Our entire stay the staff made us feel like both family and royalty all at once. I absolutely cannot recommend Villa Magia enough. Hurry to make your reservation, because there are only 12 rooms on property! A one-of-a-kind experience that is sure to enhance your visit in beautiful Positano.

Yelp
This is probably the most expensive hotel I have ever splurged on and stayed at!!! I stayed here for 3 nights but looking back I think 2 nights would be enough time to spend in Positano. The views are amazing and our balcony was huge. Great photo ops throughout the property and they also give you an iphone to communicate with the hotel reception if you ever need anything. I communicated with them prior to my stay and they were always super helpful and responsive! You get your bags brought up to your room when you arrive and depart. The breakfast which was included was absolutely phenomenal. I never got tired of eating their breakfast and they can also bring it to your room! My room was very spacious and there was a sauna as well as a regular shower etc. the toilet seat was also heated! I do think that the room rate should've been lower since it's not full on busy season yet, and they charge an extra person fee if you have more than 2 people, which makes the room rate even higher.

Yelp
Perhaps the most luxurious resort I have ever stayed in. The staff treats you like a King and Queen. Everything is done for you. You are always attended to. You get an iPhone so you can always stay in contact with the staff 24/7. Sandra practically did everything for us. From welcoming us with champagne to getting our day ready with a beach bag with water and towels. Marilu helped during the evenings. Claudio carried our suitcases down a billion steps. Salvatore helped with everything else during the evening. Reservations to restaurants and private car transfers were done for us via email months in advance. Which means they started helping us before we even stayed. We had room #1 which was huge. It had a huge terrace which they considered small and it wasn't. The bathroom was luxurious. Breakfast would be selected every night and we were able to pick from a huge variety of things. Omelettes, potatoes, crossaints, pastries, waffles, pancakes, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, cheeses and meats, fresh squeezed juices, coffee prepared in different ways. It had everything and it would be delivered to our room any time we wanted. Spa services were convenient and a refreshing cocktail would come along with it. The views are amazing as you see a perfect postcard image of Positano. But again, what put this place over the top was its services and how they treated their guests. They take pride to ensure you are treated like royalty and taken care of. It was the most unique experience ever.

Yelp
I'm not sure that I've ever stayed in a more beautiful place in my life! From the porters who carry your bags down the steep steps, to the iphone given to you by the front desk in case you need them, to the incredible rooms and views... I can't recommend this place highly enough. Breakfasts were sensational - with staff knowing exactly what you ordered the night before and eager to refill your cup with strong coffee or a latte. The one dinner we ate on the terrace was devine. The villa is well-situated, not too high up the hillside and not too far down... perfect for enjoying the views or getting down to the beach. No - it's not cheap. But if you have the money you definitely will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Stunning Villa that impressed us over and over. From the private chef who creates a meal for you based on your desires and what he picked up from the market. To the staff that was so helpful, thoughtful and went above and beyond anything we have ever experienced. The view from this Villa and our terrace was better than any we found on the ENTIRE Amalfi coast! We had the most INCREDIBLE experience here. If you are lucky enough to stay here the breakfast will blow you away. You receive a menu everyday and pick anything you want - cheeses, meats, omelettes, yogurts, fruits, pastries, crepes, etc - and it comes to your terrace as fresh and delicious as ever. If you're not staying here make sure you book dinner at one of the 4 tables (again amazing food, incredible view!) There isn't even a menu, the chef speaks to you about your likes and creates something special based on what the fisherman and farmers market had that day. What a treat it was to stay here. We enjoyed it the most out of our trip and stayed at the most luxurious places in Capri, Venice and Rome.

Yelp
We had the most INCREDIBLE experience here. We happened upon this beautiful property after we were already staying in Positano.... They have 4 tables(very intimate) should you choose to dine with them (if not staying in the hotel)...we chose to book dinner with them that very night! What an experience! The staff was unreal! Helpful, kind, truly a unique experience! We started with the caprese, fig, melon and prosciutto salad, including the massive branch the figs had been grown on...AHHHMAZING... followed by spectacular pastas... fresh tuna carpaccio as well as the homemade gnocchi w/provalone fondue... only here a short while but plan to go back again tomorrow! A must do!!

Dan S.

Yelp
An absolutely amazing hotel. The service is better than I have ever had. The photos online don't do justice for the view and amenities. During our stay, we visited many other hotels and restaurants. I'm so glad we didn't start anywhere else. What other hotel would have helped me organize my engagement proposal and arrange a photographer? Staying anywhere else would be a mistake.

Yelp
Villa Magia is one of the most beautiful luxury boutique hotels in the world. It is family owned and operated with immense soul, immaculate detail and exquisite quality of decor, landscaping and fresh healthy food. The space is peaceful and serene yet full of energy with colorful lush landscaping, a garden of wild orchids from Thailand, modern accommodations and ocean views. Villa Magia is quite special because it has only 5 large unique rooms with breathtaking views of the ocean. The food is high quality with fresh healthy ingredients, made to order. We found no need to venture outside the hotel for a restaurant, as we've ordered service here for every meal ... With the most perfect views of the ocean. They easily accommodate specific ingredient requests such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten free. The beautiful and peaceful soul of this boutique hotel with its exceptional quality of every detail makes it one of the most unique experiences of a lifetime. Memories here will last your life time.

Yelp
This is the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. Their service puts the Ritz to shame. You HAVE to book room #7, the Orchid room. You get your own private balcony with loungers, a table, a hottub, a sauna, and its covered in the most gorgeous flowers, and your bedroom is behind a glass wall overlooking everything. They are so kind there and make you feel safe when you are overseas. The service is impeccable. The minute your ice melts, they are right behind you with more. And not in like a creepy "stop watching me way", in like a "wow you read my mind way". Also the cell phone they give you with internet is amazing when you leave the hotel and want to use google maps. WE LOVED IT and everyone there.

Yelp
This place is unreal. I don't think I have ever felt so welcomed and the service is unparalleled. Gabrielle and Salvatore are two of the nicest people and they treated us like royalty during our honeymoon visit to Positano. And the food was delicious while the cocktails were perfectly crafted. Definitely stop in and ask about their dining service; you won't regret it!

Yelp
Villa Magia literally means "Magic House"-- which is so appropriately named because a stay here is truly magical! Once the childhood home of its owner, Luca Vespoli, Villa Magia has only seven guest rooms, ensuring each of its guests gets as much (or as little) personal attention as desired. Staying at Villa Magia is like being at your own personal country home with a full staff at your disposal. Luca's family owns various hotels, shops and restaurants in Positano- this is what they do and they do it exceptionally well!! The Villa staff are on call for its guests 24/7-- when you check in they provide you with an iphone to contact any of them for room service, restaurant reservations or any other questions. Their staff go above and beyond for their guests- for example, we asked for the hotel to coordinate a reservation at a nearby restaurant and they made sure we had the best table possible at an amazing restaurant with a fabulous view of Positano! Villa Magia has a large pool, a restaurant that provides a 7 course tasting menu for its guests, spa services, a large boat for private boat tours, a private cooking class (which you can customize to learn how to cook anything you want)! Breakfast is included and they'll make you anything you want! We had bacon (pancetta) and eggs along with toast and an amazing cheese platter each morning. Try the gnocchi and grilled mozzerella on lemon leaves if you order room service any other time of day :) We stayed in Room 6 which has a separate living room/kitchen as well as a terrace and a good sized backyard with grass and the most amazing view!! Our room could easily sleep a family of 4. We will definitely return to Villa Magia - and recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional and magical vacation.
