This place is absolute paradise! It is beautiful, extremely well maintained, and in an incredible location. The desk staff was wonderful, the wait staff and chef were very accomadating to our vegan diet, and the massage therapist has the hands of a healer! I loved it here so much that I cried when we left. The room was immaculate, the food was delicious, and well, it's paradise! Can't wait to go back.

If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy Playa Venao look no farther. We stayed in the immaculate 2 bedroom 2 bath condo complete with balcony and floor to ceiling ocean views. There is a pool close by with covered palapas and lounge chairs. The walk to the hotel is a short one where you can eat all your meals. However there is also a fully loaded grocery store in town and you can prepare them in your spacious kitchen. We were here for surfing and the walk is short to the main part of town. The surf is quieter on this end of the beach. We walked back and forth at night along the beach. No problem. Bring a flashlight so you can watch all the hermit crabs scatter.

This place is adorable and the staff is sooo sweet! The drinks and food were great. The hotel room has everything you need. The one thing missing is a mini fridge but I spotted those in the lobby so they are unfitting for future visits :) The views are other world-ly! More beautiful in real life then pictures convey. Ana, the front desk clerk, went above and beyond to coordinate a courier service with another hotel I stayed at - she even used her own Yappy to pay for me! Thank you Ana!! PLEASE get a massage with the wonderful Vivi - best massage of my life. The ONE issue is sound coming from playa Venao. It went until 2 in the AM shaking the building. I wish that the horrible bars and annoying young party scene would die out so that places like Villa Marina could thrive!! Villa Marina is a slice of heaven on earth - for now. Go go go! Totally worth it.

The place is well located with an amazing view from the rooms or the restaurant. The swimming pool was clean and again with an incredible view. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and it was fresh, tasty and delicious. Highly recommended.

Villa Marina is a hidden gem—for now. The peaceful beach and the restaurant’s stunning bay views create a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. The drinks were excellent, though service was a bit slow but relaxing . Unfortunately, ongoing deforestation and signs of large-scale development suggest that this serene spot may soon transform into a bustling community, potentially losing its current charm. If you have the chance to visit, enjoy the tranquility while it lasts!

This has to be one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed at, anywhere. Fortunately, we were only there for two nights (still two nights too many). We were woken the first morning at 6am by someone outside speaking very loudly. Sounded like an employee on the phone. This lasted for about 15 minutes. You could hear everything in the room next door as there was an interconnecting door. No kleenex, no glasses, only one chair on the deck which was absolutely filthy. TV didn't work properly. (I turned on the tv to try and drown out the neighbours!!) Also, on the road in there is housing construction. If you're expecting peace and quiet go somewhere else. Food at the restaurant was ok but service was poor. The one meal the server brought out both appetizer and entree at the same time. It's getting 3 stars for location as it was on the beach and the view was ok.

My family of four (two adults, two little kids) had a two bedroom condo for three nights in January. We were happy we stayed at Villa Marina as it was a bit removed from the party vibe in town. For holidays, be warned that EMD pumps and echos throughout the beach until 3 AM. The condo itself was very spacious and had a nice view of the bay. We found it to be fairly quiet though we weren't in at all that much! You can rent surf boards for 15-20 dollars a day a short ten minute walk down the beach. You can also take surf lessons with little to no advanced booking on the beach as well. Great for beginners. ||On the cons side, the condos are on the lower level and sandwiched between other condos on the sides. Luckily we only had one day where the upstairs neighbor shifted around their furniture. Note that condo 502 does not come with a dishwasher. It would have been nice to have a couple extra beach towels (only were two for the four of us provided) but luckily we brought our own. I think the place is slightly overpriced for what you get, but overall we enjoyed our stay!

A special place if you’re willing to embrace it. First off, anyone looking for a polished high-class resort will be disappointed. However, we still loved the hotel and would book it again. Why? The location, the friendliness of the staff, and the unique atmosphere are outstanding. The view from the room is simply stunning. The place reminds me of Bali 20 years ago—basic yet with a special charm. Yes, the rooms are a bit worn, and the bathroom, well, could be better. But the bed is fantastic, and who wants to spend the day in the room anyway?! A small tip: place a bowl of water in front of the terrace. That way, you’ll avoid bringing sand and dirt into the room (since nothing dries properly due to the humidity).
