Villa Marine

This is a wonderful, quiet, comfortable place to stay. It's close to the ocean and has laundry machines and a swimming pool. The individual units have nice kitchens with a grocery store and restaurants nearby. It's a beautiful property with lots of tropical trees and plants. The operator was very helpful and knowledgeable about all of the activities and restaurants nearby. There were a lot of great choices and he helped us pick some real winners. I had a great time and would certainly stay here again.

Cute and relaxing place to stay. My family booked into to finish off a busy trip to the area. The rooms were clean and had unique local decorations. It's clear the owners put the personal touch into this place. We also loved that it was on a quiet street with its own pool as it allowed us to unwind and relax. The jungle setting was beautiful. I wish the kitchenette was a little more furnished with matching plates/bowls for 4 but it was about typical of most equivalent hotels/ air Bnb. The owner was also very knowledgeable about local attractions. I would recommend this as a peaceful place to use as a base for adventures.

We stayed for a week at Villa Marine in May. Lovely tranquil place, adjacent to a patch of rainforest and short walk to the beach. Apartment was clean and comfortable with access to a laundry. Lovely veranda shaded by tropical plants. We loved Peter’s collection of amazing artefacts along the verandas and in the different rooms. As birders it was ideal for us being close to Cattana Wetlands and Yorkey’s Lagoon and a short drive into Cairns Esplanade & the Botanical Gardens. Also close to Smithfield shopping centre that has everything you might need for self catering etc all in one location. Peter and Romy were excellent hosts and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and had loads of information on hand of where to go and what to see. We’ll be back for sure!

Villa Marine was a lovely place to stay. The owners were wonderful with a wealth of information on local activities. Only a short distance from Cairns city centre. The pool was nice and the facilities were great. Highly recommend

The best service in Cairns. Peter and Romy went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Quiet location right 50 meters from the beach. Highly recommended.

What a hidden gem! We stumbled across it due to a vehicle breakdown and was greeted with the most understanding kindness from the staff and followed by a beautiful clean room, lush gardens and tropical pool. Highly recommend!!!

We had a wonderful family holiday in this beautiful beachside apartments. Such a peaceful, relaxing setting with a pool and air con which was essential for us Irish folk! The art work and decorative shells were very impressive. The rooms were clean and kitchen had all utensils you might need. Sitting out in the evening in the porch chilling out was just what was required after day trips to Cairns and surrounding areas. Peter was very helpful, always around if we needed him but not overbearing. He listened to what we wanted for our day trips, offered advice based on his vast knowledge and experience and then booked excursions for us. He is a gentleman and happily chatted to my 73 year old dad about the array of local birds. This accomodation is ideal for all ages. Thanks for a wonderful memorable holiday!

A very pleasant stay and I have already suggested to my family to come again next year. Short stroll to the beach, plenty to do in the area, great day trips available to book at the on-site Visitor Information Centre too. The Cairns Art Gallery and The Cairns Aquarium are well worth a visit. As are the many and varied restaurants in Cairns and Port Douglas. Villa Marine is the best choice for a quiet break but close enough to all the action when desired. The apartments here are all self contained, comfortable and well appointed. This hotel is not too big and there is absolutely no hustle and bustle to deal with. Lovely pool and lots of walking and hiking opportunities in the region. The gardens, rainforest and bird life were a special attraction for me. Excellent customer service and lots of useful local knowledge was readily provided by the Management Team and staff.
