Villa Marine

We had a wonderful family holiday in this beautiful beachside apartments. Such a peaceful, relaxing setting with a pool and air con which was essential for us Irish folk! The art work and decorative shells were very impressive. The rooms were clean and kitchen had all utensils you might need. Sitting out in the evening in the porch chilling out was just what was required after day trips to Cairns and surrounding areas. Peter was very helpful, always around if we needed him but not overbearing. He listened to what we wanted for our day trips, offered advice based on his vast knowledge and experience and then booked excursions for us. He is a gentleman and happily chatted to my 73 year old dad about the array of local birds. This accomodation is ideal for all ages. Thanks for a wonderful memorable holiday!

A very pleasant stay and I have already suggested to my family to come again next year. Short stroll to the beach, plenty to do in the area, great day trips available to book at the on-site Visitor Information Centre too. The Cairns Art Gallery and The Cairns Aquarium are well worth a visit. As are the many and varied restaurants in Cairns and Port Douglas. Villa Marine is the best choice for a quiet break but close enough to all the action when desired. The apartments here are all self contained, comfortable and well appointed. This hotel is not too big and there is absolutely no hustle and bustle to deal with. Lovely pool and lots of walking and hiking opportunities in the region. The gardens, rainforest and bird life were a special attraction for me. Excellent customer service and lots of useful local knowledge was readily provided by the Management Team and staff. We visited Yorkeys Knob for the weekend. Had no idea where we were going to stay and stumbled upon Villa Marine- the hidden gem of Yorkeys Knob. We stayed in a self contained villa style apartment that backed right on to the rainforest. It was so quiet, peaceful and tidy. It had everything we could have needed. Peter who runs the resort was very knowledgable about the area and lovely to chat to. We had a wonderful time and definitely recommend it!

For the past 65 years I have spent many happy vacations in Cairns. I now live here. An extended holiday at Villa Marine in Yorkeys Knob this year has been one of the best ever. Located in a serene garden setting I was able to really unwind in a well run and eco friendly establishment. Each apartment is self contained with a spacious guest laundry. It"s a short stroll to the beach. Local shops close by. And a bus service into town. No gimmicks, just a genuine focus on delivering good customer service. The on-site Visitor Information Centre provides a convenient way to learn about the many attractions available in the region.

Loved the delightful decor of the rooms, the idyllic setting and proximity to the beach.|Peter shared his extensive knowledge of the area, making suggestions that matched our interests. As a result we had an outstanding day at Michaelmas cay and also enjoyed exploring the Cattana wetlands.|Peter displays genuine care for guests to ensure they get the best out of their stay in Yorkey’s Knob. Would thoroughly recommend.

The perfect spot for a relaxing holiday in Cairns. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable with everything you need. The pool is big and great for the whole family. The beach is a couple of minutes walk away. Yorkeys Knob itself is very well located, near enough to Cairns. Peter, the owner, was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful with finding and booking activities and made our week in Cairns fantastic. We’ll definitely come back to Villa Marine next time we’re on holiday in the region! Thanks.

We were excited to move to Cairns and Peter at Villa Marine offered up some of the finest hospitality imaginable for our temporary accommodation. The peaceful pocket of paradise would suit both short holidays and slightly longer stays. Accommodation was fresh and inviting, with the afternoon shaded lawn sloping down to the most fabulous of resort style pools - huge. Only a minutes walk from the beach. Would have no hesitation recommending Villa Marine for a variety of travellers, and can only thank the folk for such a wonderful experience - felt more like staying with family.

Villa Marina is a beautiful locally owned hotel with just a few rooms. We really enjoyed our stay in the nicely decorated rooms. The bed is really comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The hotel is in a really quiet neighborhood next to a forest, it was really nice to relax in the garden next to the pool. It was a huge plus, that the complex had an amazing information center, where the manager told us about all the tours in Cairns and surroundings. He had an extensive knowledge about the diving safaris and had way better prices, then in the city center.
