From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome. The front desk was super nice and communicated with our taxi to meet us outside the Medina when we arrived. They carried all our luggage so we didn’t have to drag it over the bumpy streets and also try to find our way the the Villa. The check in was seamless and they carried our bags up the stairs to our very cute room. Our room had beautiful sea views. Very cozy and a great shower w hot water and great pressure! They have a lot of people working there and give great service. We had massage’s at the beautiful spa (they also have a hammam) and one highlight was the cooking class. We picked our menu, shopped with the chef and cooked our meal in the chef’s kitchen. Then we ate our mark in a gorgeous little private area they set up for us, candle lights and all. Super romantic. Also the location is a 10! We hope to be back again one day!!

The location at the heart of the medina is perfect. The venue is magnifique! We were in a small suite very beautiful and comfortable. We had an home-made dinner delicious. And the cherry on the cake: the home-made breakfast on the terrasse. Unforgettable!

A lovely 4 day stay at Villa Maroc. The interior styling is absolutely beautiful, it manages to perfectly balance good looks and homely comfort, and we absolutely loved the many open fires in the evening. Location is great. Some attention needed on breakfast & bar service - we weren't told what was available for breakfast so we stuck with what we were given which was OK but didn't look like the pictures posted here! A card of options would sort this. Having said that, would totally recommend VM, it's a gorgeous authentic hotel and we hope to return.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic art and meticulously decorated. The service is very good and pleasant. Our room which is nicely designed however, overlooks a white wall so no view whatsoever. Additionally the bathroom and toilet has no door! This is very inconvenient. All the rooms start at the second floor and you have to go up narrow staircases to get there. Not recommended for older folks like us. Otherwise great roof and terrace

We stayed two nights. The villa is on the edge of the medina. The rooms were very tastefully decorated. The bed was sublime. My friend and I were on two sides of a central sitting space that rose three stories. Very cosy and private. We had bar snacks and breakfast on the roof overlooking the corniche and the sea. I would absolutely recommend this as a place to stay. As with any hotels in old buildings be aware of many uneven stairs.

We last visited Villa Maroc 17 years ago with our three children to have dinner in one of their exquisite little dining rooms. We realised then that we should have booked to stay there. This time it was just the two of us. We managed to book a small room overlooking the central atrium and just a floor below the stunning new roof terrace. We loved the minimal but beautiful decor - simple yet very tasteful and very Moroccan. We enjoyed a delicious evening meal on our first night. The set menu was perfect and our table was in front of an open fire - which was welcome as the evenings by the sea are a little cooler in October. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the riad was located in a perfect position to enjoy exploring the medina and to head out to the beach one day. We both had a very good massage in the Hammam/Spa. We would definitely return to this beautiful riad hotel.

We stayed two nights at Villa Maroc and also did the Hamam couple treatment and the cooking class with Hayat. We really enjoyed the cooking class, Hayat did an amazing job at introducing us to the moroccon cuisine. The food was delicious, probably the best tajine we had during our two week trip through the country. The Hamam was very good as well. We had the ocean-view room, which was generally a nice room, however, the bedroom had a slightly musty smell which was a bit unpleasent. Service at dinner and for our activities was great; for check-in/out, at breakfast and at the roof-top bar there is room for improvement.

I had the best time at Villa Maroc. The location is great for exploring Essaouira. It's an oasis, the view and the tranquillity from the rooftop. The food was good and everyone was very nice. The hammam experience was something special, definitely worth trying. When something wasn't 100% right, everything was done to make me happy. Thank you very much, I'll be back.
