Villa Maya impresses at first glance with its stunning old royal architecture and beautifully preserved artifacts that transport you back in time. The ambiance is serene, elegant, and undeniably charming — perfect for those who appreciate heritage and design. However, when it comes to the food, the experience doesn’t quite live up to the setting. The dishes are average at best and lack the depth and flavor expected from a place that carries such a luxurious image. Despite the fancy presentation, the taste falls short of expectations. What’s even more disappointing are the prices — they are exorbitantly high and simply not justified by the quality of food. While the location and interiors make it a great spot for taking pictures or soaking in the ambiance, it’s not a place I’d recommend for a value-for-money dining experience. In summary, Villa Maya is a treat for the eyes but not for the palate — worth a visit for the ambiance, but not if you’re going for the food.

Villa Maya is an amazing place! I honestly don’t understand why there are any bad reviews. The food is delicious, the prices are very reasonable, and the service is absolutely top-class. Everything feels so warm and welcoming. I would definitely come back here again!

This restaurant is just top notch. The ambiance, the decor, the surroundings and even their washrooms are fantastic. Food is great but a bit costly which is at par with their vibe. The staff is very courteous.

I had an opportunity to visit this place for dinner which I never regret even once. The service, ambience and food all are bang-on!!!. I could not pick up words to describe their ambience, even the restrooms are nature friendly. They have both interior and exterior sittings, but I recommend to take the exterior one if weather is conducive. They also have a experimental menu which can be taken if there are more than 4 persons. Right from tender coconut broth (signature dish) to their wide variety of desert platter all are top notch. One should never miss the experience (rather than only food) in this place if staying in Thiruvananthapuram.

How is this not the most famous restaurant in the country? Gorgeous. Authentic. Spectacular. I had to pinch myself that I randomly walked in here at about 9:30pm while hopping cafes in Trivandrum. Architecture and Interiors: Heritage building teaming with art and nature. The murals, statues dot the large garden with water playing a prominent role, flowing across the floor, teeming with Koi and small fries. The background music pairs perfectly with the constant flow of water splashing around you. I must, without hesitation, also appreciate their washroom. The urinals, in the middle of a pond, watching koi while peeing. What in the world was going on. Service: I interacted with Mr Rajesh and a few others, and every single team member here was exceptional in their quality of interaction, promptness, and going the extra mile to assist with personalised recommendations. Food & Drinks: Their selection of beer and wine was great, and offered several cocktails that were red/white/sparkling based. The welcome drink of a coffee shot and an appam was light and set the expectation that this was not going to be an ordinary culinary experience. I went for the Kerala Seafood Platter, which consisted of 3 dishes - Fish, Prawn, Squid. All 3 insanely good, I paired it with a Parotha. As flaky and soft as it could be. For the dessert I tried the coconut ice cream brownie, which was served inside a tender coconut. Again, exceptional! Price: Steep, worth it - 1000%, but be prepared as it will dent your wallet a bit. That said, it’s an ultra luxury place, without pretentious food or vibe, and would come here again and again.

Such a classy place to spend quality time with your family and friends. I went there with my family for my father's birthday. The server asked is there any special occasion. And I said yeah my father's birthday it is. And all of a sudden they organised a surprise cake cutting. My father was so happy. Thanku for making his day more special. And about the food, it's delicious. And ambience is awesome.
