Let’s start from the beginning! After my reservation I try contacting the front desk to add 2 massages to our stay, called 17 times in 2 days, no one answered. The 3rd day someone finally answered, to tell me they didn’t have massage therapist on site during my stay. We ended up having to bring our own and Lysa recommended us a great team.
We arrived, the room was not ready. They did offer a discount for the inconvenience. Went to the bar to wait, bathrooms were disgusting, both men and female, trash in the pool, over flowing. When the room was finally ready after an hour, they made us wait outside for someone to escort us to the room, waited another 15 minutes. We ended up leaving and figuring out the location our selfs.
On our way to the massages in the beach a huge labrador dog was attacking and destroying a poor cat, 2 kids trying to release the cat, got bit. We tried helping but kids and dog ran away. Pet friendly but dogs without leashes, completely unsafe for kids and smaller pets. We made a reservation in the restaurant, arrived a little early went to the bar to order some drinks while we waited, was stop by personnel because we can’t use the bar until we get seated. Made me stand up from the chairs, go to the host, to only seat us where we were seated, the place was empty. Usually bars are first come first serve.
Drink took a full hour, by then the table was ready. They seat us in an area that was not next to the water and we asked for it ahead of time. We noticed 2 tables next to the water, asked for them a second time and said that they need to be clean and it will take time for them to be cleaned. Instead of go ahead, have an initiative and clean the table, they just left the table dirty, and sat us in the middle of the saloon with no water view. By the time for ordering took another 35 minutes, I asked to change my Jasmine rice to another side, like mamposteao rice or white rice with beans or even shoestring fries, they told me that substitutions were not allowed that if I wanted a different side, I will have to pay for an extra side. I was appalled, I went ahead and ordered an extra side or rise that was awful, I can make a better rice. I should have say Im allergic to Jasmine, didn’t think of that on time. $45 churrasco that was not tenderized and chewy.
Our diner experience took 2.5h. Went to the room to take a shower, guess what? The tub drain wont work properly so it will fill up with water almost completely, for me is disgusting. Not enough floor towels and broken product containers. After a little while we walked outside for sodas like at 11pm and nothing was available. There was vending machines but not accessible to guest, they offered to take us but we didn’t have change neither they so we went to bed with nothing to drink.
The next day went to the beach, all the beds were dirty, trash everywhere and it was 8 am. The shade topers in the beds were broken. Went to the bar and this was what really pissed me off! Asked for 2 virgin piña coladas, guessed it right! They were out of the ingredients for them! BEACH SITE AND NO PIÑACOLADAS?! Listen is embarrassing to be a born and raised Puertorrican living in the us for the past 7 years and having this experience while visiting and paying almost $400 per night. In our experience the location is amazing but management is loosing control and is sad.
