We spent 5 nights at Villa Mozart and Macondo and loved it. The tropical garden is beautiful and provides a feeling of tranquility as you wander around the lush green vegetation and feel like the only person there. Our room was very clean and the staff are lovely - always smiling and helpful. The breakfasts are also very tasty. ||It's a quiet location but very close to many little shops, bars and restaurants as well as a short walk to the gorgeous Carrizilillo beach. Definitely recommend a stay here.

Angelica and her team are the heart and soul of Villa Mozart y Macondo. Tucked in a little jardin, this hotel doesn't feel like a hotel and more of like a local community. During my time in Puerto, I've realized that a lot of real-time gentrification and colonization is happening and many companies and restaurants are owned by "extrajeros" aka non-locals. You can proudly support this hotel because Angelica, Ale and all the staff members are locals. Truly this spot is located just steps away from Playa Carizalillo. I wish I took more advantage of that during my two nights here. Regardless, I loved that I was closer to "El Centro" compared to my time in La Punta. The room I had was the closest to the cafe, so I woke up when the staff members got to work and the morning cafe music started to play to welcome diner and residents. Their chocolate con agua caliente is not to be dismissed. It is LOVELY and so frothy. Best chocolate con agua I had in Puerto hands down. My room was clean, bed was two smaller twins pushed together, but definitely very spacious for a solo traveller. Shower and sink were all together with the toilet, but I was used to smaller/tight quarters during my stay in Oaxaca de Juarez, so this was pretty nice. Water heats up after a few mins, and I always felt cool after a cold shower and the fan on. Such a special place, not bougie, very laid-back, and you'll be treated like a member of the family. Gracias para todo Angie y familia!

Beautiful and quiet rooms, comfy bed, heavenly garden with lots of exotic plants, scrumptious breakfasts and very friendly service. Centrally located with 5-7 min walking distance from the beach and restaurant area. Exceed my expectations in everything. Enjoyed my stay there very much.

Positive - The bungalow is located in a beautiful garden setting. Esthetically very pleasing. The location is great, about as close as you can get to Playa Manzanillo and right close up to the shopping and restaurants on the main drag in Rinconada. The room was adequately cleaned every day.|Negative - 'll put it this way: We were paying a 4 star hotel price for what was at best a "quirky" Airbnb or higher end room at an eccentric hostel. The bungalow had maintenance issues. The mini fridge desperately needed defrosting, you couldn't use the freezer. If their goal is "pretty", that just looks bad. Moving to the bathroom, the shower head wasn't working properly and spraying water all over the place. I asked the maintenance guy and he fixed it, in fairness. Kitchen is outside, that's not a problem. The mini stove is operated with gas, we're not used to that and had to be shown how, The stove eventually stopped working. No microwave-in this day and age, a hotel kitchenette with no microwave? They're cheap, even in Mexico. Again, we paid a lot of money, we're not talking about camping fees here. Management was difficult to deal with and ineffectual. Every one of the above issues we brought to management was met with a long discussion and excuses. I speak Spanish, so it wasn't like we weren't understanding each other. The process for defrosting the fridge was so unnecessarily complicated that we gave up on that one. We were issued one large kitchen knife. We asked for a smaller paring knife and the answer was nope, one knife only. Then that knife was so rusted that it fell apart in our hands. We asked a different person, the maintenance guy for a new one and he got us one right away. He was actually reasonable to deal with. The first night watchman was weird and made my wife uncomfortable. One morning, he was operating the leaf blower at 6 am. We complained to the proprietor about him, she looked at us like we were the problem. We were admonished for running air con and fans in 32 degrees Celsius heat. Criticize us? For what we paid? Fix your problems first before you admonish your guests. When we booked, there was a no refunds policy. We had to pay the full amount of our stay when we walked in the door.

Beautiful, small rental area. We stayed a few nights here, and the garden is very pretty. The staff was friendly and courteous. And the breakfast was awesome. Close to the beach too. Highly recommend!

I recently had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel just a stone's throw away from Carrizalillo Beach. As a budget-conscious traveler who came mostly for surfing, I found the economical room option to be perfectly adequate—nice and clean, with everything I needed. Between surf sessions, I thoroughly enjoyed lounging in the gorgeous garden, a tranquil oasis that complemented the beautiful surroundings. The breakfasts were delightful, offering a great start to each day, and the owner's kindness truly made me feel at home. The room options were beautiful, with a fantastic view of the garden. Adding a delightful twist to my stay, I found the exact book I had forgotten to bring at home in the hotel’s guest collection! This place is a gem for anyone looking for a comfortable and friendly place to stay near the beach

My friend and I stayed in the Bungalow Cocina at Villa Mozart y Macondo for two nights. It was a delightful place to stay! A pathway through lush tropical plants led to the doorway to our bungalow. The air-conditioned room was spacious and filled with beautiful and unique pieces of art. A small kitchenette was outside on the front porch. A peaceful, quiet and comfortable place to stay, located conveniently to the restaurants and shops along the main street in the Rinconada neighborhood. Also very close to the beach. Highly recommended!
