The location is perfectly situated close to beautiful beaches to walk to and many wonderful restaurants--and is yet very quiet and peaceful at the same time. The garden is meticulously maintained and you feel like your in a tropical jungle. ||Rooms are top notch with great AC and ventilation, and balconies overlooking the gardens. And most importantly, the bed felt like a cloud in heaven!||Make sure to ask Angélica for her recommendations for restaurants and in-room massage services. I was craving pizza and she recommended La Galería, where I promise you will savor the best pizza you have ever had!||The next time I am in the Puerto Escondido area, I will return without question.

We spend two nights in this beautiful location by playa Carrizalillo. The rooms are surrounded by vegetation and gives you the feeling to be in the jungle. Two cats and tropical birds live here too.||Location is very convenient, right by the access to playa Carrizalillo and the main street with restaurants (we recommend El Cafecito, fast and competitive prices).||Rooms are not too big but it was more than enough for us. They have a fan and airco, as well as a refrigerator. Beds are comfortable and king size. ||The hosts were very warm with us, giving us tips on the beaches we should visit, and arranged a taxi for our way on the airport for 130$, which would have been impossible of stopping a taxi on the street.||Breakfast are not included but are good; locals stop by prior to heading to the beach.

We just spent 5 days here and it was wonderful! Our hostess was awesome. The grounds were beautiful as were the resident parrots and of course the cat Mimi! It is very conveniently located to restaurants and beaches. We highly recommend this hotel.

Confusing Policies - Don't Bother Unless You're Staying 5+ Nights I was reallylly looking forward to staying at this hotel, and I could even book it on Expedia. However, when I called to ask a question about the place, I was told they have a 5-night minimum stay policy. I asked if I could stay for just 2 nights, and they flat-out said no. This raises some big red flags for me - if I'd gone ahead and booked through Expedia without calling first, would they have canceled my reservation? Not exactly confidence-inspiring. Given the discrepancy between their Expedia listing and their actual policies, I'd advise others to think twice before booking here unless you're planning an extended stay.

We spent 5 nights at Villa Mozart and Macondo and loved it. The tropical garden is beautiful and provides a feeling of tranquility as you wander around the lush green vegetation and feel like the only person there. Our room was very clean and the staff are lovely - always smiling and helpful. The breakfasts are also very tasty. ||It's a quiet location but very close to many little shops, bars and restaurants as well as a short walk to the gorgeous Carrizilillo beach. Definitely recommend a stay here.

I recently had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel just a stone's throw away from Carrizalillo Beach. As a budget-conscious traveler who came mostly for surfing, I found the economical room option to be perfectly adequate—nice and clean, with everything I needed. Between surf sessions, I thoroughly enjoyed lounging in the gorgeous garden, a tranquil oasis that complemented the beautiful surroundings. The breakfasts were delightful, offering a great start to each day, and the owner's kindness truly made me feel at home. The room options were beautiful, with a fantastic view of the garden. Adding a delightful twist to my stay, I found the exact book I had forgotten to bring at home in the hotel’s guest collection! This place is a gem for anyone looking for a comfortable and friendly place to stay near the beach

Angelica and her team are the heart and soul of Villa Mozart y Macondo. Tucked in a little jardin, this hotel doesn't feel like a hotel and more of like a local community. During my time in Puerto, I've realized that a lot of real-time gentrification and colonization is happening and many companies and restaurants are owned by "extrajeros" aka non-locals. You can proudly support this hotel because Angelica, Ale and all the staff members are locals. Truly this spot is located just steps away from Playa Carizalillo. I wish I took more advantage of that during my two nights here. Regardless, I loved that I was closer to "El Centro" compared to my time in La Punta. The room I had was the closest to the cafe, so I woke up when the staff members got to work and the morning cafe music started to play to welcome diner and residents. Their chocolate con agua caliente is not to be dismissed. It is LOVELY and so frothy. Best chocolate con agua I had in Puerto hands down. My room was clean, bed was two smaller twins pushed together, but definitely very spacious for a solo traveller. Shower and sink were all together with the toilet, but I was used to smaller/tight quarters during my stay in Oaxaca de Juarez, so this was pretty nice. Water heats up after a few mins, and I always felt cool after a cold shower and the fan on. Such a special place, not bougie, very laid-back, and you'll be treated like a member of the family. Gracias para todo Angie y familia!

Beautiful, small rental area. We stayed a few nights here, and the garden is very pretty. The staff was friendly and courteous. And the breakfast was awesome. Close to the beach too. Highly recommend!
