The newly renovated Sunset Deluxe Pool Villas were beautiful and spacious — easily large enough for two adults, one toddler, and a baby. The beach right in front of the villa was fantastic! In fact, the ocean and beaches around the hotel were stunning. We often wandered around the island and discovered quiet spots with no one else around, which felt absolutely magical — like being explorers in paradise. I honestly didn’t expect that level of privacy when we first arrived, especially since the lobby and restaurant areas had more of an “all-inclusive resort” vibe, with lots of guests rushing to the buffet at the same time, not many smiles, and a rather hectic atmosphere (FYI lots of Russian guests).
Unfortunately, the food didn’t always meet our expectations. It was often overcooked — dry meat and fish were sometimes inedible — and there were too many unhealthy options for kids.
For the nearly 1,000 euros per night (full board) we paid, I would have appreciated a bit more attention to detail and guest care. For example, some other guests paying half our rate (on all-inclusive packages) received two dinner vouchers for the other restaurants, while we didn’t get any, which felt a bit odd. I think I would book all inclusive next time.
The booking process was also frustrating; I had to repeatedly follow up with the reservations department by phone just to receive a booking confirmation because no one replied to my mails.
While the natural beauty of the island, the villa, the pool I have to say I expected a bit more overall — also from our island host, who made us feel processed rather than valued as guests.
