Villa Orselina - Small Luxury Hotel

What an incredible experience. My stay here reminded me of what hospitality should be. Each and every member of the staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was seamless and enjoyable. I especially appreciated each of their good nature - incredibly kind and warm people. The views are stellar, rooms are very generous in size and the pool and gardens are serene. I can’t recommend this place enough! Hope to be back soon.

During our trip to Switzerland in May 2024, the 2 night stay at the Villa Orselina was the climax. The rooms with balcony were large. Views excellent. Food was simply superb with several exquisite complimentaries from the kitchen. Breakfast spread was filling. The number of staff for a small hotel was quite large, a rarity in Switzerland. Each staff member made efforts to make us feel special. Visiting the town in bus no. 3 from the doorstep was very convenient. There were many many great facilities indoors too. Would love to stay there again.

We loved our time here. The staff are fantastic and made us feel very welcome. The views from the room and terraces are spectacular. We hadn't planned on eating here every evening but anywhere else would have been a disappointment.

Absolutely incredible hotel and the best staff we have ever met! From the moment we walked in to celebrate our honeymoon we felt like royalty! From a gorgeous room upgrade upon arrival to small touches of warmth and kindness throughout our week stay - we wish we could give this wonderful resort a 100000 more stars! Daniel and his team made us feel welcomed and relaxed from check in through to check out. The food and attention to detail as amazing and truly first rate. Nothing was too much trouble, and we were made to feel special. Daniel's suggestions for every spare moment was spot on, from jazz in Ascona to the historic F1 exhibition in the main square, he had a finger on the pulse. Well done Team

Great hotel overlooking the Swiss side of Lago Maggiore. We stayed 3 nights here in early September. - Hotel is an older hotel but has been updated over time. Some vintage furniture and design in some places and very new touches in others, which might not be desirable for some people. Overall the aesthetics were pleasant and the view is one of the best hotel views on the lake. If I had to change anything immediately, I’d remove some of the more kitschy accents like on the bottom of the pool or the cartoonish room names. In my opinion it cheapens the ambiance - Service was great throughout. Absolutely closer to Swiss hospitality than anything else. I’ve had issues with service at Italian resorts over the years, but I have nothing critical to say of the service here. Everyone was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable – location was great —literally a 2 minute walk to the Madonna del Sasso staircase and the funicular to the Locarno center and if you have a car it’s a 10 minute drive to Ascona - food was good but could be elevated. We enjoyed the breakfast as it has anything you could want with enough options and hot dishes. However we had lunch twice on the property and it was not particularly exciting, which is why we didn’t have dinner

We only ate the restaurant so I can't comment on the hotel as a whole. The location is abs fab the reception area very 5 star the cocktail lounge with its view super but the restaurant with tables literally on the edge of the hill is spectacular with a fantastic panorama. The food I had was superb. The foie gras sauteed to perfection and the layered filet steak with one layer having foie gras terrine was served nice and bloody as requested and was exquisite. We also had an excellent Sicilian red wine. All in all a really wonderful evening. The service too was exceptional. Definitely a must visit when in Locarno

We had a Wonderfull time at the Villa Orselina. The location is perfect with breath taking views of the Lago Magiore. The service is outstanding and all the people were not only highly trained but also very warm and helpful in all you could need. We had dinner at the restaurant every night and enjoyed a well balanced and delicious meal with natural products and the expertise of a fabulous chef. Breakfast was abundant and lunches were light and tasty. Our Room was spacious, well decorated with a balcony facing the lake, perfect for a relaxing afternoon or a drink at sunset; always ready and clean before we came back from our walks. It was a pleasant stay, we can’t wait to go back!
