We had to wait over 40 minutes after we made our order and nothing came. While all others around us got pizza almost after 5 minutes. The two waiters outside where so busy that it was hard to get to talk to them, when we finally asked how more we need to wait for the food, well, then it took just the time for the waiter to get inside and bring us the plates. Good atmosphere, even if always quite full, and quite good food, but we weren’t lucky with the service. 😌

Pizza was amazing! Would come everytime again for good food and super nice and polite service. Wood oven pizza was stunning flavor! Ambiente is very Italian and authentic - looooved it!

Google
Pizza was pretty decent but very small for what we paid. Regular pizzas were only slightly larger than the children's pizza (see photo). Lovely interiors and great to sit outside facing the square though.

Great authentic pizza place, really lovely atmosphere and the staff were super friendly. They were busy but seated us straight away without a booking. Food was excellent, would definitely recommend!

Villa Paradiso Grünerløkka was an okay place to eat pizza and a few other Italian dishes. I ordered meatballs, and as is customary in Italy, nothing else comes with it except bread. Quite pricey compared to the size, so if you are hungry, this is not the place. More a place to enjoy a wine, friends, and snacks like this.

Google
Villa Paradiso serves decent oven-baked pizza with soft, satisfying dough. The atmosphere is cozy, making it a nice spot for a date. Not super fancy neither expensive.

Google
Very nice (but busy) Italian restaurant. Recommend! The lasagne is quite possibly the best I've ever had. Chicken salad very good. Wine on the mid- to low-end, but passable. Located by a park with lots of people walking around. The male waiters are all called "Devil" and the females are all "Angel", and they were nicely attentive. We apologised for not speaking Norwegian, as we speak English, and appreciated the staff working with us in English.

Google
Villa Paradiso has a solid and authentic menu and atmosphere. The food is really good and the kitchen is authentic italian style. My favourites are the quattro formaggi and the tiramisu. Nice weather and weekend? Book a table, or walk by early on a weekday. Enjoy a taste of Italy here at Grünerløkka.

Yelp
Friendly staff and tasty pizza! Tried the N'duje and it was very tasty, would have preferred some more ingredients to give them a five star rating. It was spicy even for someone outside of Norway - so make sure you prefer spicy Italian sausage. The pizza was a bit small so if you run marathons you probably need some additional food - but I bought it as an afternoon snack so I'm content ;-) Take away took about 20 min, which they promised it would.

Yelp
A busy Italian gem on Oslo waterfront. Interesting and unique menu selections besides pizza. While we did not try pizza it was very popular and looked tempting. Service was excellent Interesting drink selections Highly recommend

Yelp
Ordinary pizza, it was maybe the best in town many years ago, but now it is nothing special compared to other places But the location is hard to beat!

Yelp
Situated in the heart of Oslo's hip Grünerløkka 'hood (translation: Grünerløkka is to Oslo as the Mission is to San Francisco and Shoreditch is to London), Villa Paradiso turns out some fine pies. The Italian-accented staff gives the place a genuine vibe and one bite of the pizza continues the trend. I had the 'In Bufalata' (Buffalo mozzarella, semidried cherry tomato, basil and olive oil) and very much enjoyed the crisp, chewy crust and well-balanced sauce. I dug the fact that wine was available in several sizes: liter, half liter and glass. It was a school night so a half liter shared between the two of us was perfect. You'll want to book ahead as the place fills up fast.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place more stars! As a New Yorker I'm hesitant to order pizza elsewhere however I found this restaurant on yelp while in Oslo, and i was NOT disappointed! I got the prima Vera pizza and it was perfection. It may have been one of the best pizzas I have had! The environment is intimate, the waitstaff are very friendly and on top of things. Even the house red wine was delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Excellent service. This is my first impression of the place. I liked that there were actually Italians working there who have a great sense of how to make you feel welcome. The food was good. I had a pizza called vezivio with fresh tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and some greens. What I didn't like was that they had burnt a bit of the dough in the middle as it was very thin and that the ring of dough around the pizza was quite thick. I would have maybe preferred to get olive oil to dip it as it was quite a lot. However it's a good quality of pizza with fresh ingredients which is the most important. The place is nice. We were brought downstairs which I didn't prefer as it is dark. But still a cosy atmosphere. Probably also good for larger groups since there is a lot of space and lots of tables. On a Monday evening it was packed so seems like a super popular place.

Yelp
Went one early very warm evening with a friend in this sort of trendy pizzeria in the heart of the very trendy Grünerløkka. We just had each a pizza, both of them fantastic, although mine was very salty ( picture attached as I can't remember the name). We sat inside close to the terrace as it was way too hot that day. It is said to be the best pizzas in Oslo, which could well be. I will definitely go back there and try a less salty pizza. Prices on the high side but normal for Norway, worth it though.

Yelp
One of the good pizza spots in town! They can sometimes get busy too so consider a reservation if you're pressed for time.

Yelp
Friend of mine brought me here the first night I arrived to Oslo. All I'm gonna say is "Wow" Their pizza is better then most New York Pizza, no joke! I tried many pizza places in New York, and they beat a lot of them. Friend of mine told me this place packed all the time, and we were lucky we got a table for 2. This place is very casual, nothing special, is one of those restaurant you really just come here, not for the decor, not for the environment, you really come here for the food, and yes, is that gooooooood. I'm plan on going back to Oslo next month or Jun, so this place is on top of my list must go back!!

Yelp
Incredible tasting food! One of the best places I've ever had pizza. I have no idea what kind I got (look at my pictures) hahaa. My favorite one was the one with 4 different cheeses. So so so delicious!

Yelp
Voted the number one pizza in Oslo, and it deserves it. These were almost as good as the best in New York or Rome, and no wonder, the owners and staff (those we talked with) were Italian (as far as we could tell!). Marilyn had hers with pancetta, fresh mozzarella, gorgonzola and arugula, Alden's was white with mozzarella, ricotta, grilled chicken and arugula. I had an insalata di pollo. Both pizzas were prepared perfectly to order, Marilyn's croccante (bene cotta) was indeed that. The crust was just right. My salad was good, with top notch ingredients. My only complaint is that it was a little small for the price. I also had their in house Birra Paradiso IPA which was very good. Oslo is expensive, and sometimes you get charged for extras, but I was offered a basket of foccacia to go with my salad, and Marilyn had a bottle of sparkling water, neither of which showed up on the bill. Tutto era molto buono!

Yelp
This is the best wood fired pizza in Oslo! We had both the margarite and meat/pepperoni pizzas. The crunchy baked pepperoni was to die for! Sauce tasted fresh and homemade. The restaurant was packed at 15:30 on a weekday which speaks to its popularity! Nice wood trimmed bistro style interior and tables with umbrellas for outside dining. A separate beverage bar is set up for speedy outside service.

Yelp
Must go pizza place everytime i'm in Oslo. Best pizza I've ever had, seriously and I've been all over the world including NYC and Italy. Amazing wood fired deliciousness!

Yelp
Great place to get authentic Italian pizza! Dough tastes very fresh, as well as all the ingredients! Service was super great, all the people who checked on us were very nice, and the food came out incredibly fast! Very short and sweet review, this place was simply great! All my friends loved their pizza, and since they are locals, they claim this is their go to place for a great dinner! They were right!

Yelp
The restaurant was really busy the server did not taking care of us as much as so we was ending up walked out. Should go there when you're not hungry!

Yelp
Excellent pizza and gluten free for my part ! Couldn't even tell... recommend when you are visiting Oslo! Get there early, no reservation and it is packed!

Yelp
Had lunch at Villa Paradiso for the first time the other day and it was great! I don't remember what the pizza was called but I ordered the one with artichokes and ham and it was really tasty. I'm obsessed with artichokes on my pizza so any place that has them is good in my book! The service was speedy and very polite. Love the atmosphere and the interior is decorated beautifully. The only thing that kept this place getting five stars from me is the pizza kinda fell apart. Other than that I really liked it here. I'm thinking about going back this summer and having pizza on their patio in the sun :)

Yelp
Being so far away from home and having a place as "Villa Paradiso" in Oslo is, for me like an oasis in the desert.. As Italian I must say they made a really good pizzas and I do not exaggerate when I say even better of lots of restaurants in Italy! Prices are reasonable compared with life's cost in Norway and the staff is lovely and helpful. This is definitely the best place when I'm missing home.

Yelp
Very disappointing experience here today. When we arrived, we waited by the sign "please wait to be seated" but the lady told us to wait outside. People nonetheless piled in, and it wasnt clear where to queue. She was a bit rude, telling us she would let us know if there were available seats inside. She never did, yet we counted 10 people piling out. We finally got a good spot outside with ok service but... Pizza was totally unexciting. Both our pizzas, the parma and my shrimp. Sounded much more exciting on paper. Shrimps, grilled chilies, smoked cheese and peppers - but together, I couldn´t believe it could have been that under seasoned. Like eating just cheese on bread. Last time the food was much better, but service once again was slow and minimal. Not coming back here again, not worth paying 200kr for a bland pizza.

Yelp
Villa Paradiso was a surprisingly delicious find for us in Oslo. Clearly the locals agree. The place is noisy and packed, every table was full and there was a lot of energy there the entire night. As such, don't expect an intimate or fine dining experience. We tried the Primavera (a white pizza loaded to the brim with an assortment of veggies) and the Maremonti (a spicy red with shrimp and sausage). Both of these were on a fairly thin crust, and large portions. They did not come out sliced (unclear if pre-slicing a pizza is predominantly a US thing?), so I ate them with a fork and knife, which felt... strange. Despite that, the pizzas were delicious, my mouth is starting to water again just thinking about that meal. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving a good pizza (or just a good meal in general) in Oslo.

Yelp
Although being a Norwegian and thus being counted among the population group in the world consuming the most frozen pizzas (a sad fact), I consider myself something of a pizza connoiseur. And yes, I have eaten many a pizza in Italy and other countries around the world (and I did research beforehand to make sure they were the good ones). Nevertheless, the pizza at Villa Paradiso is hands down the best pizza I know of. So there. Also, the atmosphere is great, the staff firendly and the desserts are very delicious, indeed (last time I was there, I went for a dessert wine to go with my dessert, based on what my waiter recommended, and I would urge anyone to follow!). Villa Paradiso is the full package and might just be my favourite restaurant in Oslo!

Yelp
This place is rather difficult for me to review. If I was Norwegian, I would think this was the best place in the entire world. But I'm not Norwegian. And I've eaten pizza in Italy and all over the US...and that is what makes this place just 'ok' for me. I have heard over and over that this is the best place to grab authentic Italian pizza in Oslo. After having that trainwreck that they call Peppe's Pizza here, I was more than willing to try any place that wasn't trying to kill their customers with each visit. We made reservations as we went on a Tuesday night and heard it could still be packed. And it really was. This place is surely no secret to those living in Oslo. The service was prompt and efficient and we even received our pizzas (1 parma and 1 margherita) within about 10 minutes of placing our order. It looks quite good considering the stupid amount we paid for it (yes this place is overpriced just as most Norwegian establishments are). And then I tasted it. :( It was really just 'ok'. No explosion of flavor from the sauce in my mouth. They also had put so much sauce on the pizza that it was basically a soggy grease fest. It definitely left me desiring for more and I was certainly not filled up once leaving the place, despite our bill coming to 277kr (we only drank water). If you're Norwegian, go for it. Probably will be the best thing you've eaten in a long time considering your version of delicious pizza is my version of toilet water. But if you're Italian or consider yourself a sucker for good foods...I'd steer clear of the pizza. I obviously can't advise anyone to stay away from the other foods as I didn't have them, but I do know that the pizza I ate there and the pizzas I've had in Italy and New York have nothing in common. I would return to this place, however...only on someone else's dime. ;)

Yelp
One of our Oslo native colleagues recommended this place. It was a bit of a walk on a cold and rainy night from our job site near Oslo S. It was busy so we had to wait about 20 mins for a table. But it was well worth the long walk and the wait. Awesome pizza made with fresh ingredients and baked in a wood fire oven! My colleague had a glass of red wine that was much better than he anticipated. He also had the Ai Formaggi and said it was excelent. It looked a bit odd arriving at the table with two (or maybe three, I don't remember) fig halves just baked on top of the pizza. My colleague said it was very good and the figs were a nice touch. I had a bottle of Italian beer recommended by the waitress. It was good, average. Nothing outstanding as far as beers go. I also had the Parmigiana pizza. Tomato, eggplant, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and parmesan. An excellent combination. Price wasn't too bad for Oslo (a very expensive city, in general). The bill came to 484NOK (~$86) for the two beverages, two pizzas and the espresso my colleague had. A great experience. Would go back again given the opportunity.

Yelp
Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. But I know I have eaten bad pizza all over the world. This is very good pizza. Thin crust. Normal European assortment, Margarita, Parma etc. cooked in a very hot oven. I liked it. Nice interesting fresh salad to start. The service was good. They had English language menus. The prices were in line with what I have paid for other meals in Oslo. (OK, that's really high by my normal standard. But normal for Oslo.) The place was very crowded. A reservation would be required by most sane people. We did not wait a long time for our apps or pizza or drinks or refills. Very efficient even during the rush. My opinion, in the mood for a pizza? Try it. You won't be sorry.

Yelp
Good real pizzas. Friendly staff. Nicely decorated

Yelp
I really liked this place. If you need a break from Norwegian food and craving some pizza, this is a great place to get it. It's cozy (almost a little bit too much, we were at a two-top and sitting basically right next to another two-top) with a bright interior and quirky decor (as is typical of Grünerløkka). I have not had Italian pizza nor have any idea what is authentic pizza, but I have eaten across many pizzerias in the US (including what I think is the best apizza in the world in New Haven, CT and the deepest in the world in Chicago, IL) and this one really truly stacks among them. Norwegian pizza is truly odd and wonderful because it is packed with ingredients. I ordered the Primavera and my dining partner got the Maremonti. The Primavera is a white pizza with a ton of vegetables - literally so many that you basically have to eat it with a knife and fork. The Maremonti is perfect for those that love spice and meat, and I loved trying that one. All in all, a cozy place with great pizza and packed on a Sunday night.

Yelp
Finding my new favorite restaurant in Oslo is a lot more difficult that I first thought it would be, however Villa Paradiso comes pretty close! Like many of my fellow Yelpers points out their stone-oven pizza is pretty amazing, it might be the best pizza in Oslo, but my NY state of mind has its hesitations. I did still enjoy my food at Paradiso and the atmosphere in the basement is very rustic and cool. The service is also great, the staff is super friendly and they managed to accommodate our party of thirteen without difficulties. They easily split the bill for us at the cash register at the bar which worked out perfectly. Although it did not make my favorite list (yet) I definitely will be back to try out more of their menu! Recommend ****

Yelp
The best vegetarian pizza with zucchini (called Primavera) in Norway is made here. The pizza with meat was too salty. The service is prompt. The decor is warm and relaxing.
google avatar

Steve G.

Yelp
Went here based on yelp recommendations. All accurate; crowded, but moves fast; expensive but not by Oslo standards ($90 for three, including one beer and three personal pizzas ; delicious. Maybe not as good as Italy but very good pizza in a great setting
google avatar

Niclas C.

Yelp
The look of and interior of the place is cosy with Italian vibe. Even if have long reservation times and can be a bit crowded. Have great Italian pizzas and knows what wine that suits for your food. Seam to be an Italian pride in knowing good wine. Only tried the pizza but that's what they are famous for and was absolutely great.
google avatar

Jamie R.

Yelp
There's not a lot to say about Villa Paradiso except they have AMAZING and cheap pizza! The simply made but super tasty Margarita pizza was like 112 kr or so which is a steal. Service here isn't anything to rave about but I will come back for more and more and more of this pizza. It's a great spot to take away too since it's right across from Olaf Ryes Plass. Grab your pizza and eat it at the park.

Sebastian C.

Yelp
Ate a delicious Margherita here. Easy going place with an Italian touch to it. Even one of the pizza bakers spoke with a strong Italian accent. Not my last visit!
google avatar

Artem G.

Yelp
Tasty pizzas made in a proper oven. Seems like the place has a lot of Italian personnel, which contributes to the atmosphere nicely.
google avatar

Aree W.

Yelp
Villa Paradiso is probably one of those places that become too famous for its own good. Many have suggested Paradiso as the town's best pizza, so I had high expectations for my Napoletana pizza. So. The mozzarella and tomato were of quality, anchovies a little too chunky and salty. The bread was a little more fluffy than I am used for Italian standards, which is okay, but it was slightly underdone. It is a shame really because a lot of work has been put into the dough. I have a feeling this was not paid enough attention because of the amount of customers.

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Soooo good!!! Was recommended this place by my friend locally and have to say, this was incredible! If you like pizza this is the place to go! We didn't have a reservation but would recommend this. They have the wood fire pizzas and the best flavors/toppings! Service was quick and we kind of want to go back already!

Brandon L.

Yelp
Very good. Some of the pizzas are very traditional and excellent. Can be a little hit and miss depending on chef. (Between excellent and good) Serve is either excellent or very annoying. Overall great value for money and tasty.
google avatar

Jorge Daniel M.

Yelp
Came here with a local friend who had been here before and said it was a really good Italian pizzeria. His description of the place came in short, it wasn't just good, it was excellent. The waiters are really nice, they are Italian and if you speak to them in Italian they are nicer. We ordered the parmesan cheese chips. Those are basically fried parmesan in the form of chips, they were really good with an olive oil and garlic dip. And for dinner I ordered a pizza they are all personal size. The one I ordered was the Ai Formaggi, with Mozzarella, Feta and Parmesan cheese, OMG that pizza was delicious definitely a place worth visiting again next time.

Aina B.

Yelp
Some of the tastiest pizza in Oslo- reasonable prices and lovely atmosphere
google avatar

Kelsi L.

Yelp
Im a sucker for pizza, but when a pizza restaurant can keep the same quality and give me a gluten free crust Im in pure pizza heaven. I had all sorts of goodies on it, figs, walnuts and copious amounts of cheese, service was quick, attentive, and cheery, which says a lot for how busy it was. We didn't book ahead and will most definitely do that next time. And trust me there will be a next time!
google avatar

Andy H.

Yelp
Really great restaurant! I would highly recommend giving this place a try. The pizza was excellent. The neighborhood is also very cool and the staff were very nice. It does take a while to get a table and the wait list is a bit unusual. No leaving your name, and a different line for inside or outside. But it is worth the wait.
google avatar

C G.

Yelp
I visited Oslo recently from LA. Several people recommended Villa Paradiso and I gathered it's one of, if not THE, best pizza place in Oslo. I politely disagree. The pizza was good but nothing to write home about. It might be the best pizza in Oslo, but if so, then Oslo is seriously lacking in good pizza. The price was high, but then again, it's Oslo. I'd probably have gone with 4 stars if it weren't for the poor service. It took 10 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge my existence, no one checked to see how I was doing once I got my food, and after I requested my check, the waitress disappeared. Having said that, the service was typical of European standards.
google avatar

Sheila S.

Yelp
Dined here after traveling many hours from the US and it was a perfect dinner choice! The atmosphere was lively, and though tables were very close together, you still felt comfortable. Waiters were attentive and spoke English which made ordering easier. The menu also had English translations. We all had pizza and enjoyed them greatly. They're freshly made and wood grilled. There's also a cute wine bar section in the back which we'd happily go back to one evening.

Yelp
I'm an italian that lives in Dublin. Honestly I wish that restaurant was in my city. My wife and I had as starters Antipizza and a portion of arancini and it was like being in Italy (real italian cheese and very tasty saffron arancino). And now we pass to the pizza: wood oven, pizza doug perfectly rised, topped with fresh and delicious ingredients. Homemade tiramisu and limoncello, we were in exstacy, what do you want more?! Friendly staff even if they were busy. An Italian corner in the heart of Oslo.
google avatar

Shuai W.

Yelp
The food (pizza and tilamisu) is very nice except we have to wait for a long time even though we have already booked before .

Jacob B.

Yelp
I have regarded this restaurant as one of the best pizza places in Oslo. However, I have not been there in a while now. Until last Sunday that is. And I will start with the good first. The ambiance and the staff are still awesome. The feel is modern italian, and the place is packed. But they have slacked off a lot when it comes to food quality. Even the parma, which is said to be one of their best, was doughy and undercooked. My quattro stagioni was an utter disappointment. So sad to see places like this growing complacent about the food they serve

Hans C.

Yelp
OK italian pizza, but nothing special in my book. Pizza is one of those dishes you really need to lift to a different level to impress me. There are hole-in-the wall pizza places around Oslo with just as good pizza, for half the price. Ambience = Busy and full of hipsters-gone-parents

Kimberly R.

Yelp
They hit the nail on the head when it comes to wood fired pizzas. The staff was kind and attentive.

Lars B.

Yelp
Waited for 1 hour 15 min without getting a table. If you are hungry go another place!!!

B B.

Yelp
Grunerlokka is what soho in nyc used to be before it became over commercialized. this place has nice pizzas and a nice vibe to it. popular at night. expect to wait.
