13 years coming back at different times of the year and we are never tired of visiting Central Portugal and staying in our happy place. Villa Pedra NEVER disappoints. This place is a hidden treasure we would like to keep to ourselves but we know business is business and the more the merrier. If you are looking for a secluded, relaxing & chic rural stay look no further. Villa Pedra has it all. From comfy beds to scrumptious breakfasts that you’ll prepare at your leisure. Explore rivers, small churches that are frozen in time, taste local products and enjoy this area culture, visit small art galleries and ceramic studios, or if you are into history there are a few ancient ruins very close. Drive 1:15 hr to Porto and explore the city or Lisbon if you prefer. Come back and get a refreshing and recuperating massage. Visit Fatima and learn the story at the exact same place it happened. Engage with the locals and remember, you are not moving here, you’ll be here for a short stay (I promise you’ll want to have more time to relax and enjoy this beautiful place). ||Very important: if you NEED anything don’t wait until you leave to tell the office, please just ASK. Villa Pedra is operated by its owner and they will provide you with a terrific stay but tell them what you need. Don’t complain instead kindly ASK and they’ll be happy to assist. A beautiful relaxing holiday experience. Very quiet, secluded private villas that are rebuild keeping the original warmth but with today' s comfort. The villas with private garden together form a small village that has additional common gardens and a saltwater swimming pool. The hostess has good tips and the well curated website with additional information was full of local restaurants and places to visit in the surroundings. Having the breakfast service is an absolute treat. Having fresh baked bread and cakes delivered in the morning. While the fresh cheeses, butter, cold cuts, honey, jams and yogurt being restocked during the day offered a hotel like experience. Highly recommend, we'll be back :-)

Amazing, secluded location. Houses were beautiful and immaculately maintained. The reception service was very helpful and provided several suggestions for how to make the most of our stay. And with so many historical sites and so much scenery nearby, I would have needed much longer to do it justice. The pool was nice and refreshing, hope to stay at villa pedra again in the future.

We loved our 3 night stay at Villa Pedra. The location is rural so a car is a must. We visited the Conimbriga ruins which were incredible. Coimbra is close enough for a day trip. Our villa beautiful. We stayed in the Cherry villa and had a gorgeous view over the valley. The pool was small and occupied by exuberant children during our stay so we did not use it. Priscilla was kind and responsive for our check in and with recommendations. We will definitely stay again!

A very special development of an abandoned village. The villas are beautifully and sympathetically renovated with quirky little nooks and crannies. All amenities are provided in this semi remote location and loved the welcome cheese and wine basket. Priscilla provided information for local food and wine as well as interesting nearby sites to view. Perfect place.

Our stay at Villa Pedra Natural Houses was absolutely wonderful! We stayed in the Lemon Tree villa, just perfect for us, 2 adults and 2 children. The house is beautifully decorated, showing an authentic yet modern style, offering all the facilities of a very comfortable stay. The kitchen is well equipped (we preferred to dine in a couple of times and make use of all the tasty local ingredients you can buy in the area), the beds are very comfortable, the bed linen & towels high quality, and it is all very clean. The house is equipped with air conditioning and insect nets at all windows, allowing to sleep with windows opened in the night and hear the sound of the crickets in the valley. The bedroom upstairs has a cute terrace with a view over the valley. The house has also a private garden, with two dining areas, very nicely designed with typical plans and lights, with a view towards the valley. It is very quiet and serene. The houses share a swimming pool, in a separate central area, surrounded by grass, lounge chairs, a covered terrace and beautiful plans. It blends in perfectly with the entire decor. The service is excellent. Priscila is incredibly responsive, offering all the information, suggestions about the area and answers to any questions we had. Such a nice presence, fitting perfectly the charming location. The entire experience of the place was elevated by the service received. We opted for fresh sourdough bread and typical cake to be delivered every morning to the door. Delicious! We enjoyed very much having breakfast in the garden of our house, tasting and trying various local products. You can opt for breakfast service too. At the reception you can purchase olive oil and wines produced by Villa Pedra. We loved them! A few minutes drive away there is a cheese factory. Again, delicious cheese. At check-in, a guest directory is made available to the guests, with all the handy information about the area (groceries, bars, restaurants, places to visit etc) - plus the additional information Priscila shares. If you want a quiet place, in the nature, offering all the comfort and yet, very autentic and full of character, then Villa Pedra is the right place. You need a car though to go to the nearby villages (10-20 min away) for groceries or restaurants, or other places to visit in the area. This is a place to return to!

My family and I had a wonderful vacation. Villa Pedra is a magnificent place with the most beautiful scenery overlooking the mountains of Coimbra. The houses are simply amazing and super spacious. You get transported to the Middle Ages in this wonderful village. Priscila the administrator was wonderfully and super helpful with us. The pool area is wonderful. Highly recommended.
